Morning!

New thread for our 'bonus' day today.

It's the anniversary of our gran dying today; she was a brilliant lady. Very young at heart. ❤️❤️ Very knowledgeable too.

It's windy today, isn't it? We have a Spanish-named storm coming across.

I think corona is concerning in the sense that any potential pandemic is concerning generally. And, as I said, I'm not that keen on being quarantined for a fortnight or more!

I also don't trust our government to act in our best interests over the whole thing.

Anyway, kids' party with DS today. Wooooo!

Why well done for sticking with it, l find l always learn more by doing than being lectured to . Also l hate role play so much , l can't bear it Grin
I see we have lost someone in Berkshire from the Coronavirus , UK first victim Sad
Itay have lost a lot of ppl incomparison to the Chinese figures, l wonder if it is just because Italy are telling the truth though Confused

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 05/03/2020 18:15

Mrs I can manage role play more or less but they videoed it to play to everyone which gave it an added dimension.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/03/2020 18:21

Italy has an older population, Mrs, so more people who are vulnerable.

Dd has red raw hands from all the hand sanitiser they're using at school. I've been 'that mum' and emailed saying she's not to use it and needs to wash her hands instead Blush

Mrsmadevans · 05/03/2020 18:36

OMG Why that would be excruciating for me Grin
Fluffy bit like us then Hmm
Wreck they told us when the Swine flu training went on several years ago now, that the gel was alright as a stop gap but washing the hands was better . I don't know if that still atands now though .

WreckTangled · 05/03/2020 18:38

I understand they're using it to save time but you're right in that it's not as affective.

Mrsmadevans · 05/03/2020 18:40

God yes. l can imagine 300 little ones all needing to wash their hands Grin

EmrysAtticus · 05/03/2020 18:43

Thanks all. Thankfully DS didn't remember it at all this morning :)

Hope the rest of the course is a little easier on you emotionally why!

I'm not a fan of the hand gel at all, soap and warm water far better.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 05/03/2020 19:02

Thanks Em. Only a few more hours to do which is a relief.

pussycatinboots · 05/03/2020 19:03

Emrys apparently, when i was about 5 or 6 I went through a spell of waking in the middle of the night, going into my parents room and asking for my head cover (whatever the hell that is) Confused I don't remember it at all, but my dad said I did it nearly every night for about a month ShockBlush

I bought some extra Neutrogena and a pot of O'Keefes for my poor raw hands on Monday.

WreckTangled · 05/03/2020 19:06

Mrs there is 64 in the whole school Grin

Why the course sounds draining hope tomorrow goes quickly for you!

Emrys if it happened regularly at a particular time you can try to disrupt his sleep pattern by stirring him just before it usually happens. I used to get sleep paralysis when I was a teen. It was awful.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 05/03/2020 19:19

Pussycatinboots I used to stand at the bottom of my parents bed when I was little fast asleep. Used to scare my mum witless.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 05/03/2020 19:20

Thanks Wreck. Sleep paralysis sounds horrendous.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/03/2020 19:55

Why, we once had a cracking conversation when you were asleep. We were teenagers then; it was when we shared a room (or maybe I was almost a teen).

Fluffy Was that the time I told you I felt ill and you got me a drink of water?

FireflyGirl · 05/03/2020 20:09

Hope your DS has a better night, Emrys, poor thing.

DS's school had a session on hand washing at the end of last year, coincidentally. He is terrible at it, though. And such a fibber when you ask him Shock. We're having to supervise every time now.

DS didn't end up going as the Gruffalo in the end. He thought there was a costume (there was, which would have fit him for the last two years if he hadn't refused to wear it!! And now it's too small). When I said it would just be a t-shirt, he decided to go in his Iron Man outfit instead sorry, Crazy Wink

Most of his class of 20 were Avengers or princesses, the only ones who put in a real effort were dressed as Cindy-Lou (the Grinch) and the little girl from The Tiger Who Came To Tea.

WreckTangled · 05/03/2020 20:19

Ours had hand washing lessons on Monday and have been using hand sanitiser upon entering the school, before and after break, before and after assembly, and leaving the school. Hand washing before lunch. We have case in the area though so I suppose they're being extra vigilant.

pussycatinboots · 05/03/2020 20:25

why I'm glad it wasn't just me Grin
Wreck that sounds awful.

PJMasksGhekko · 05/03/2020 20:44

Omg sleep walking and talking obviously runs in the family as I still do it Grin

DD2's school had a go to school in pj's day, she would not have done it in reception and would have worn school uniform, today she went in her Pj's, such a massive difference in year 1 bless her, she'll never be dressing up though Grin

sounds very intense why, I hate the breakaway training we have to do every year!!

NoWordForFluffy · 05/03/2020 20:45

Yep, why, that's the one! Grin

Ours have hand washing lessons regularly. They still germ monsters, however!

My school was small, but not quite that small! I think it had about 90 pupils. It was great!

CrazyBaubles · 05/03/2020 21:44

why my sister used to sit up and sleep talk. Used to scare the living daylights out me.
DH does it too. On a mild night he remakes the bed and talks about rugby. On a bad one he wanders around and acts like he's fighting people off. Have found him sleeping on the bathroom floor many a time 😂

Firefly DH said he had lots of superhero's and Disney princesses in his class today too. He was especially impressed a set of friends who came as Matilda, Miss Honey and Miss Trunchable though!

PJ again your dog is just 😍

I've been busy on the cross stitch this being again (although it doesn't look like it)
