Morning!

New thread for our 'bonus' day today.

It's the anniversary of our gran dying today; she was a brilliant lady. Very young at heart. ❤️❤️ Very knowledgeable too.

It's windy today, isn't it? We have a Spanish-named storm coming across.

I think corona is concerning in the sense that any potential pandemic is concerning generally. And, as I said, I'm not that keen on being quarantined for a fortnight or more!

I also don't trust our government to act in our best interests over the whole thing.

Anyway, kids' party with DS today. Wooooo!

Well, I reported the troll. As I did the last one(s). As I will the next one(s).

Lovely weather at the allotment, Firefly.

Why, maybe the bread will be a good burglar-whacker, if it's that dense!

Mrs, ignore your sister. She's an idiot.

Crazy, your poor DH. I hope the situation improves soon.

Firefly, I put on LOADS of weight with DD as shovelling carbs in was the only thing that reduced the nausea. I still puked loads too. Grim.

Boots, I imagine Eau de Troll to smell damp and mossy. Hmm 😂

why if it's dense, is it troll bread? Hmm Wink

Mrs well done on standing up to your sis.

Not sure Eau de Troll will catch on...

PJMasksGhekko · 24/03/2020 19:10

Woolly, my friend went to every shop at the weekend, no loo rolls, no pasta and no tinned toms, oh and no eggs!! Hopefully by monday things will have improved, I can not get a delivery slot anywhere arghhhhh.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/03/2020 19:18

I have the holy grail of a Morrison's order tomorrow night! My in laws have an Asda one in the morning which they fluked yesterday!

I also have eggs and loo roll on mine!

TheWoollybacksWife · 24/03/2020 19:24

PJ I'll PM you with a lovely local company that are doing deliveries of veg and eggs.

WreckTangled · 24/03/2020 19:26

Poor ds just had a complete meltdown. He was on his own but got angry, ripped up some crafting he had done and then I found him face down sobbing into the sofa Sad I just feel so sad for him

Mrsmadevans · 24/03/2020 19:53

Wreck your poor Ds . This is so awful for us adults let alone a child Flowers
Fluffy blooming heck you lucky thing with the order Grin
Well done re the troll Grin l think it's the same person because they arrived on the frugal thread this time, the same day she came here.
They wouldn't have randomly found the two of these threads in such a quick time l am sure. Think it was that Mumbassa et al poster because she was on the frugal site as well. I actually think they are all that one from last year called Acey or Irish Acey . She really has a problem Hmm
Think the tide is turning re my sister , can see right through her shenanigans now and she isn't important to me any more. In the immortal words of Doris Day in Calamity Jane 'I can do without you'
Grin
Is it only me who feels they have it starting all the time Hmm l need to get a grip!

WreckTangled · 24/03/2020 20:01

Bloody love Calamity Jane. It's one of my favourites

PJMasksGhekko · 24/03/2020 20:01

Thank you Woolly, will definitely look at using them!!

Your poor Ds Wreck x

FireflyGirl · 24/03/2020 20:13

Aw, bless him Wreck. Maybe have a cheeky day off school work tomorrow?

I'm so thankful that DS is quite sedentary, and also a mummy's boy, so spending days stuck within a metre of me is pretty much his ideal life!

Morrisons' site was down earlier, think they've been upgrading it to deal with more online orders. They've also posted money-off vouchers if you click and collect at the larger store that's about 20 minutes away.

Mrsmadevans · 24/03/2020 20:13

One of mine too Wreck Smile
Taking a load of stuff up for Mum's to Bob's tomorrow, have a load of food, cat food and chocolate for them . Taking the casserole l made today for them to have tomorrow. I need to make a few cakes for them too. Will do a Victoria sandwich and a rice pudding in the slow cooker , it's my favourite Grin

CrazyBaubles · 24/03/2020 20:14

Just catching up but have to say I love Calamity Jane too. Have seen it on stage a lot few times and use it to cheer myself up regularly 😊

FireflyGirl · 24/03/2020 20:18

I love Calamity Jane as well Grin

Great songs! Might put them on Alexa while I'm working tomorrow!

WreckTangled · 24/03/2020 20:20

Firefly he hasn't been doing any school work I just let him do what he wanted today whilst I worked.

Mrsmadevans · 24/03/2020 20:42

Fluffy God knows what you are going to call the next thread , l await with baited breff Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 24/03/2020 20:46

Thank God for the Bake Off !

PJMasksGhekko · 24/03/2020 21:03

Well, I have just helped out a friendly ghost on Animal Crossing and got new flooring for it Grin I'm quite enjoying it, we have medicine now in case we get stung again, so all is good Grin

You are good Mrs, just be sure to look after yourself to please Smile

I feel exhausted, must be the 7 days stuck inside, apart from taking the dog for a walk, she was in the bad books this morning (nothing new) she had rolled in her own poo, and this was after we'd picked it all up (Collies poo alot), dirty little sod.

Mrsmadevans · 24/03/2020 21:46

Thank you PJ that is so kind of you Flowers
Your Bow Wow is a girl and a half, she will make this terrible time so much easier for you all to bear Smile
Hope you feel more like yourself soon Flowers

WreckTangled · 25/03/2020 06:33

I said to DH I wish I had a dog right now to keep us company. He thought it was a silly idea. I was only musing I wasn't actually going to go and get one Hmm

The week is going so slow looking forward to Friday when I don't have to work and can give the dc some attention.

Morning!

Wreck, I agree that time is going slowly. It's hideous. I don't remember the last time I moved about so little. I'm going to have to do loads of digging at the weekend to make up for it!

Our kids spent hours scooting in the garden yesterday. Thank god for the nice weather.

I've told DS to stop using soap for now as he's not going anywhere and his hands are red raw, poor boy. DH managed to sneak some cream onto his hands last night (he has an aversion to doing it) so hopefully that helped.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 25/03/2020 06:59

Poor ds, dds hands are so sore. You're right it's best to stop otherwise it will be infected and be more likely to harbour bugs anyway. We've got quite a heavy frost this morning.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/03/2020 07:30

No frost here (we don't often get one). It's lovely and sunny.

I'm going to pot my tomatoes on at lunch time as they're leggy and need burying up to their necks!

Morning and Happy Rudolph Day!

Another very sunny day here. I think I'm going to hack away attempt to prune / tidy up the front garden this morning. Then walk the dog then watch a Christmas film and crochet something festive this afternoon as it's a Rudolph day.

Other very exciting plans include washing dog beds (and possibly the dog), hoovering and making a start on sorting the spare room.

DH worked yesterday. They had more staff than children so have drawn up a rota. He's in today then not in again until next Friday - he's found to really struggle with cabin fever I think, he's rubbish at being indoors for any length of time unless he's working really.

pussycatinboots · 25/03/2020 09:10

DH has been scrubbing the frilly bits on the conservatory roof with a toothbrush attached to my long mop handle Hmm
He's now washing the windows at the back of the house.

He'll be bored rigid by 10...
