Morning!

New thread for our 'bonus' day today.

It's the anniversary of our gran dying today; she was a brilliant lady. Very young at heart. ❤️❤️ Very knowledgeable too.

It's windy today, isn't it? We have a Spanish-named storm coming across.

I think corona is concerning in the sense that any potential pandemic is concerning generally. And, as I said, I'm not that keen on being quarantined for a fortnight or more!

I also don't trust our government to act in our best interests over the whole thing.

Anyway, kids' party with DS today. Wooooo!

Wow, well once I'm out of isolation, I'll be travelling to work at the hospital. Luckily it's only weekends.

NoWordForFluffy · 23/03/2020 21:07

I'm going to use the allotment as my exercise! And join in with Joe in the morning! 😂😂

I don't think it will be corona getting me if I tried Joe, it would be Joe himself Grin

This is just how I was planning to live anyway so it's not making any difference to me really. DH probably won't be able to work for much longer which is a bit of a worry especially as his boss isn't great at paying him at the best of times and he's likely to die if he gets corona. What a nightmare. Our great grandchildren will be reading up on this in their history lessons.

PJMasksGhekko · 23/03/2020 21:34

Wreck, me and DH were saying just last night, none of the things closing down affect us, every single evening we are home, so this is nothing new to us.

Ds1 started a new job today, it provides meat food items for Tesco's so hopefully that will be classed as essential work.

WreckTangled · 23/03/2020 21:42

I would have thought so. I am really sad for the things we will be missing out on like our planned trip to London for the exhibit at the NHM and we were planning on going to the zoo. But it's not forever. I'm more sad for the dc really. Ds has come on so much with his confidence and I'm worried this will really set him back.

FireflyGirl · 23/03/2020 21:45

It's an interesting thought, isn't it Wreck. That we are living through a period that will be studied in history and politics in future generations. We should maybe do a project - interview people including our DC and get their thoughts on coronavirus and the lockdown. Think DS is just happy he gets to spend more time playing Lego!

PJ I think anything involving food production/distribution is classed as essential. Hope he enjoyed his first day.

One thing about Joe - he is always sweaty, and slows down half way through, so I don't feel as bad that I do too Grin

The school mums were chatting about his PE lesson this morning (we have a group chat on WhatsApp). Our DC are foundation and Y1, and it was a bit too hard for them. Tumble tots on Facebook was better. But Joe apparently has an immaculate carpet Grin.

We'll be using the allotment for exercise as well, Fluffy. While keeping our distance from our plot neighbours!

PJMasksGhekko · 23/03/2020 21:46

Yes, we need to keep thinking, it's not forever.
Bless your Ds, it's horrible isn't. DD2 has come on so much too, I'm hoping this won't set her back into being very clingy with me.

I have literally just sat down , have been so busy it isn't true. I haven't had time to catch up with the thread yet but suffice to say we did Mum we took her to the Dr's for an ear infection , she has MRSA in her ear and it flares up now and again. Then we had to get the prescription , then we took her to Bob's, Came home , Dd2 throat was worse her left tonsil was massive and she had to go to the Dr's, then the prescription had to be collected and it all takes so much time too it was hours and hours. We came home, then went to do the shopping, came home again then put it all away , had a cuppa and finally sat down Smile
So here l am , am glad BJ has taken these measures it was ridiculous on the Sugar Loaf on Sunday , we didn't go our local FB group was going mental about it , they had the police there as well . What is the matter with ppl ?

FireflyGirl · 23/03/2020 22:35

Think a lot of people are in denial, MrsM. It can't be that bad, can it, and anyway, it's not like they'll get ill with it Hmm.

Work have sent an email that they're closing the office tomorrow, while they decide how to go about making this workable (and avoiding being sued!).

I agree, that doesn't hurt sunshine Grin

PJMasksGhekko · 23/03/2020 22:39

This is her looking sweet and innocent, both of which she isn't.

Random dog picture, sorry Grin

Mrsmadevans · 23/03/2020 23:31

Wreck sorry the home schooling isn't going to plan, it's not easy , you need the patience of a saint and the DC know which buttons to press don't they? Thank you for backing me up re Looking after Mum 🤗
Glad you are less scared too🤗
PJ no hope of my Sibs stepping up to the end mark. Which is why l want to her to go and stay with Bob. At least he will take care if her if we get the virus and can't go. I know it is using Bob but l am so worried about this happening . Would think your Ds job will be essential too there was no meat in Aldi's tonight . Haven't been able to buy any for a week or so. You have such a beautiful girl 😍
Woolly that's so lovely being able to watch the kites today 🤗
Fire thank you re Mum 🤗
Excellent Yorkies 🤗😋😋

Fluffy glad you slept well last night, hope you do tonight as well 🤗

Biddy hope everything is going well with you and your family, l hope you get a bit of time to yourselves while this is going on 💐🤗
I better get to bed l am so tired. Have a good night sleep everyone 😴

NoWordForFluffy · 23/03/2020 23:51

Mrs, it's too late now, your mum needed to be at Bob's before lockdown. They'll have to stay apart now. 😢

I'm too wired for sleep now, sadly.

Firefly, I'm surprised more offices haven't considered the suing aspect really. We're almost-all WFH from tomorrow.

We just need to get through this as best we can. We'll all be here for each other!

I've been awake since 5.30! Does not bode well for the day!

Anyway, thought this might cheer everyone up this morning Grin

pussycatinboots · 24/03/2020 06:44

Firefly, If only he'd just said that! Grin

I woke at midnight, again at 2.30 and finally just before 5.
The cats were pleased as they got an early breakfast.

WreckTangled · 24/03/2020 07:13

Fluffy does this mean your dc's swimming lessons are finally cancelled?! Looks like they're putting a bill through to help the self employed. I'm still a bit annoyed I haven't heard from dds piano teacher really.

Another gorgeous sunny day here, chilly though.

Morning!

I'm in the 'had shit sleep' camp too. Not good! I'll try to catch up another night!

I saw that, Firefly. Grin

Wreck, he's brought forward and extended the Easter break. He'll review again after what would have been the Easter holiday. He'll add the missing weeks in later on, apparently.

Your DD's piano teacher really should contact you. I know it's their livelihood, but they're prohibited from teaching so should contact you voluntarily.

Sorry for everyone who had rubbish sleep. Fortunately since having DS nothing other than him can disrupt my sleep. The benefits of a bad sleeping child I guess.

Michael Gove has declared that allotments are fine fluffy :) The Allotment Shed group on FB blew up over the matter last night so good the government have clarified. To be honest not much to do on mine until I can get to shops to get more bed making materials. Going to focus on doing seedlings at home and getting my potatoes into bags in the garden. I am told the IKEA bags work and we have a couple of those so hope to get my first earlies in at least. I do have planters on order from Wilkos but no idea if they will be delivered now.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 24/03/2020 09:22

Morning everybody. I have decided to try baking bread in my slow cooker today. I doubt it will be any good but worth the punt I thought.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 24/03/2020 10:43

Ooh good luck why.

We are having a lazy day enjoying our new Disney+ subscription :)
