Morning!

New thread for our 'bonus' day today.

It's the anniversary of our gran dying today; she was a brilliant lady. Very young at heart. ❤️❤️ Very knowledgeable too.

It's windy today, isn't it? We have a Spanish-named storm coming across.

I think corona is concerning in the sense that any potential pandemic is concerning generally. And, as I said, I'm not that keen on being quarantined for a fortnight or more!

I also don't trust our government to act in our best interests over the whole thing.

Anyway, kids' party with DS today. Wooooo!

Oh, congratulations, Firefly. Here's hoping for a sticky bean with all my heart. Flowers

And no, I hadn't seen that. I'd seen the Judgment about allowing a 56 day agreed extension. But it's going to be strike outs all over if we all go down with this!

I settled my self-isolating client's claim today, so that one is off my list!

We have log ins for something called Purple Mash for the kids. And we keep being told that they're open as usual, but they appear to be winding down for a Friday finish, we think. Other schools are closing before then.

PJ, typical that DD2 is bouncing round. Bloody kids! 😂

Firefly congratulations. I don't blame you for wanting to reduce your risk by taking DS out of school.

WreckTangled · 17/03/2020 21:07

Look what I've seen... jelly cat Christmas catalogue!

Wreck they are lovely , l love the mistletoe and Holly Grin

PJMasksGhekko · 17/03/2020 21:22

Purple mash here too fluffy, I got a little confused but I think we have sussed most of it, some of the games are very painful to watch though and tedious!! DD2 has completed 2 sets of work and the teachers can see that they have completed which is good.

FireflyGirl · 17/03/2020 21:43

Thanks, everyone. I wasn't going to mention it until I was a bit further along, particularly given my history, but it's probably going to come up with all the new measures being put in place. I have a scan on Saturday to make sure everything is ok, and after that I might start getting excited.

Wreck those are gorgeous!! I saw a post on Facebook about knitting/crocheting toilet roll, and thought we could set @TheWoollybacksWife on that Wink.

Just think, a couple of weeks ago we were all hunting for Terry's chocolate orange mini eggs and now we just want a roll of toilet paper...

PJ I might take you up on that offer, when you get chance? Can't hurt to have a look at the options. DSis's friend is a foundation teacher, and they're basically saying keep the routine and concentrate on social skills and outdoor play.

I promised DS weeks ago we'd bake bread sticks, so I can see that being on the list tomorrow, as well as more allotmenting. DH has volunteered to do science based activities - think he's going to start with the germ/handwashing one that's been on Facebook.

Morning!

Mrs, I'm the same, waking early to think / worry.

Last day in the office though today, and there are increased noises about school closing. I'll be happier once we can self isolate to be honest.

I'm hoping to hunt a chicken down today for Sunday dinner! Crazy times we're in!

Take care everyone.

Mrsmadevans · 18/03/2020 06:40

I will be glad when you and DD2 and everyone else is finished in the office and commuting Flowers, self isolation is the only way to go if at all possible.
Good luck with the chicken hunt Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 18/03/2020 07:06

We're considering taking the kids out from next week if they don't close on Friday. Now all trips etc are postponed, I can't see that it'll be a surprise to them.

I've been awake since 2am. Dds schools have cancelled everything dd is so upset. Disco, assembly, enrichment day, parents evening. There's not much else they can do though.

I've got a school booked in this morning then to the office.

NerosFiddle · 18/03/2020 08:53

Morning all.

Fire congratulations! I've got everything crossed for you.

Dc are going to put on their waterproofs and go out in the garden and go on a "bug hunt". I'll sit at the door with a cup of tea.

FireflyGirl · 18/03/2020 08:55

Sounds like a great plan for the morning, Nero's.

Penguins allowed to roam their closed aquarium to cheer us all up this morning. I love penguins 🐧 🐧 Grin

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 18/03/2020 09:15

Morning, working from home has been mentioned here but I suspect redeployment to the wards etc but we shall see.

pussycatinboots · 18/03/2020 09:30

DH (and that is not dear husband at the mo) has lost my phone charger. He's really not bothered...AIBU to stab him in the leg with some embroidery scissors??
We use the same charger (it's an old samsung and an ancient motorola, both "dumb" not smart) and he only charges his before he meets his mate - because of CV he's not seen him for 4+ wks, and can't remember where he put it...
I'll have to buy a new phone, won't I?

PJMasksGhekko · 18/03/2020 09:33

Good morning everyone, the youngest person to die from it has died at our local hospital Sad My chest feels tight today, and coughing a little Sad

Here's some links Firefly, hopefully the ones you don't the log in for are useful x

CrazyBaubles · 18/03/2020 11:11

Congratulations Firefly. I have everything crossed for a sticky bean for you

I have a bad throat / very slight teeny tiny cough so was sent home from work today.
I don't have my lap top back from them either so I'm self isolating but with no work to do (am being paid though thank god)!

Current plans are cleaning and crafting, trying not to eat everything in sight and trying hard not to kill DH

Might settle into it with a Christmas film this afternoon...

NerosFiddle · 18/03/2020 11:21

Thank you PJ

Mrsmadevans · 18/03/2020 11:49
