Morning!

New thread for our 'bonus' day today.

It's the anniversary of our gran dying today; she was a brilliant lady. Very young at heart. ❤️❤️ Very knowledgeable too.

It's windy today, isn't it? We have a Spanish-named storm coming across.

I think corona is concerning in the sense that any potential pandemic is concerning generally. And, as I said, I'm not that keen on being quarantined for a fortnight or more!

I also don't trust our government to act in our best interests over the whole thing.

Anyway, kids' party with DS today. Wooooo!

Blacksmith you may be on to something 😁

Mrsmadevans · 17/03/2020 07:47

Fluffy brilliant! That will keep the DC happy 😀
l wish l had one too
Plans for today, not a lot really. I think I will have a good look in my cleaning/medication cupboards and see what l need . I have a feeling l don't need anything. DH is going to get very stir crazy 🙄. We need some good weather to cheer everyone up .

pussycatinboots · 17/03/2020 07:56

Mrs Is yours any good with a paint brush? Grin

Mrsmadevans · 17/03/2020 08:00

Boot he's bloody useless 🤣🤣🤣

FireflyGirl · 17/03/2020 08:02

And if so, do you loan him out? Wink

Agree a bit of sunshine wouldn't go amiss!

WreckTangled · 17/03/2020 08:07

We've got sunshine! The past two days have been gorgeous and today is too. It's definitely helping with my mood!

WreckTangled · 17/03/2020 08:21

Dd got upset because I wouldn't get on the school bus to kiss them goodbye. I can imagine the bus is full of germs 😷

I have a builder / joiner DH who's also a dab hand at decorating!

I've been having a debate with Merseyrail on Twitter about our varying ideas as to what 'deep clean' means. My train was bloody filthy this morning!

Morning everyone. I have an hour long training course today. Really hoping they cancel it.

I may be avoiding most of the other threads on here as quite frankly it is descending into hysteria and even I was starting to get twitchy about it all. So going to stick with Christmas as that works for me.

Mrs it may be worth going onto Now TV's website and looking to see if the offer is on there as I had it as well.

Mrsmadevans · 17/03/2020 10:07

Why thank you, l will have a look 🤗 l know what you mean about hysteria. If only they tested ppl then those that had it could live their normal lives. Have a good day l hope they cancel the training for you too 💐

Mrsmadevans · 17/03/2020 10:08

I meant those that had it and had recovered could go back to living a normal ish life .

Mrsmadevans · 17/03/2020 10:13

Went to the dentist and cancelled my routine check-up for tomorrow. The waiting room was full. As soon as I walked in this woman coughed . I was out of there like a scalded cat . The receptionist was really frantic poor thing l felt really sorry for her. They were glad because one of Dentists is off sick she told me. 🥺

PJMasksGhekko · 17/03/2020 10:56

We are self isolating, DD2 has a cough, so that's it, we are all off.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 17/03/2020 10:56

I would not go to the Dentist Mrs. I think you made the right call there.

NerosFiddle · 17/03/2020 12:04

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Mrs I've cancelled my dentist appointment for tomorrow too. I was to get my wisdom tooth out. But I've no one to look after the dc so it's on hold for the foreseeable.

Tesco came this morning and there's more than there was last week but still not everything that I'd normally buy.

pussycatinboots · 17/03/2020 12:58

PJ fingers crossed that it is "just" a cough Flowers

FireflyGirl · 17/03/2020 14:16

Fingers crossed for you, PJ. For your sanity, as much as anything else Wink

I'm now in the 'at risk' group, so am working from home until further notice, but there'll be a limit to what I can do without going into the office at all. Time will tell, I guess.

WreckTangled · 17/03/2020 15:13

We had our team meeting which is ridiculous. And we've been told we have to carry on unless we're in the at risk category where we have to work in the office. So stupid. Also I'm trying to do my online shop and there's nothing available.

pussycatinboots · 17/03/2020 16:22

fluffy there's an article on BBC website suggesting UK jury trials be halted.
although you probably know that already

Wreck someone at your place needs a damn good talking to, or they're at risk of everyone self-isolating.

Mrsmadevans · 17/03/2020 16:52

Afternon everyone Smile
We went to Goldcliff instead, we went in the car , no one else with us , it was deserted there and we didn't meet a soul. Had a little walk , watched th ebirds and the waves coming in and it was like there was nothing wrong in the world. I don't see a problem with doing that if we haven't got any symptoms or meet anyone. What do you all think. It was totally deserted there . Dh got some petrol from the pump paid at the pump and gelled his hands when he got back in.

Mrsmadevans · 17/03/2020 16:57

Wreck have any of your family got any symptoms? I know it is worrying for you and l can see how your team leaders are not doing their jobs properly and making you feel safe. Who decides if you are in the at risk category? Can you talk to your colleagues and get some reassurrance from them m'dear? Flowers

WreckTangled · 17/03/2020 17:05

No we're all ok at the moment. It's the government risk category (those who need a flu jab basically). I'm having a risk assessment tomorrow but it's all just very slow and unclear as ever in the nhs!

Mrsmadevans · 17/03/2020 17:11

PJ l am so sorry this has happened , how is your Ds ? I so hope he is ok and hasn't got it Flowers

pussycatinboots · 17/03/2020 17:12

Mrs that is exactly the kind of thing me n DH will be doing.

Wreck I hope you get some clarity tomorrow Flowers
