Morning!

New thread for our 'bonus' day today.

It's the anniversary of our gran dying today; she was a brilliant lady. Very young at heart. ❤️❤️ Very knowledgeable too.

It's windy today, isn't it? We have a Spanish-named storm coming across.

I think corona is concerning in the sense that any potential pandemic is concerning generally. And, as I said, I'm not that keen on being quarantined for a fortnight or more!

I also don't trust our government to act in our best interests over the whole thing.

Anyway, kids' party with DS today. Wooooo!

Is it a good time to throw into the mix that I don't like cream??? 😂

Custard is best with crumble without a doubt.

pussycatinboots · 16/03/2020 20:09

Wreck and why what do you have on strawberries? Ice cream?

Mrsmadevans · 16/03/2020 20:11

Wreck! Cream is the best , what is the matter with them all Grin

pussycatinboots · 16/03/2020 20:11

Mrs you should have put a warning on that!

Mrsmadevans · 16/03/2020 20:21

Boot hehe Grin

WreckTangled · 16/03/2020 20:31

Mrs I have indeed!

I don't like cream or milk! I don't have anything on my strawberries Grin

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 16/03/2020 20:33

Mrs and Wreck I don't have anything on my strawberries either.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 16/03/2020 20:34

Wreck I don't like milk either! Are we the same person 😊

WreckTangled · 16/03/2020 20:35

Grin dry cereal all the way!

Mrsmadevans · 16/03/2020 20:44

Ugg to dry cereal Wreck she's never normal not liking milk or cream
Why l love strawbs and l eat them without cream but l do love a SCONE with butter first, then jam and finally cream on the top think this will start them off about scones , schones, scuns or scons Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 16/03/2020 21:04

DS eats dry cereal. He's CMPI (though growing out of it) and doesn't like any dairy free milks. He only drinks water too.

DD doesn't eat cereal or drink milk (lactose intolerant).

I'm not arsed about single cream. Clotted or extra thick double for me. Or soured with chilli etc.

Wow, you lot can chat Grin off to catch up!!

PJMasksGhekko · 16/03/2020 22:03

Idris tested positive but has had no symptoms, that's pretty scary!!

I'm becoming an expert custard maker (dried, it is the NHS after all) although it's hard to know how much to make, as sometimes it doesn't get used lol.

FireflyGirl · 16/03/2020 22:04

I'm easiest, Neros, as I don't like custard or cream, and I am pretty ambivalent about ice cream as well. I don't like milk either but do use it to 'wet' cereal, though I don't have it very often. I prefer plant milks, but still aren't keen. DH would love to eat them but can't, and I can but don't.

MrsM, it is quite obviously con-cone-scone gavel. Just jam on mine, though please Wink

I've been trying to make sense of the government's guidance tonight - nobody can seem to agree if the 'at risk' groups need to do isolation or just social distancing!! Clear as mud!!

WreckTangled · 16/03/2020 22:08

I think it's just social distancing.

I can take or leave ice cream. I like mint vienetta and the chocolate and raspberry magnums but that's it really. It's too cold.

FireflyGirl · 16/03/2020 22:16

That's DS's opinion on ice cream as well, Wreck. He loves ice lollies, though. Crazy child.

That was what I thought at first, Wreck, but then the BBC says 'People in at-risk groups will be asked within days to stay home for 12 weeks.'

Mrsmadevans · 16/03/2020 22:59

I don't have a clue all l know is that l like the taste of em Fire Grin
I think the PPL like my Mum have to stay at home for 12 weeks too at least that is what l thought they meant. l text my NDN Dd1 to say could she explain to him we won't be able to visit him to keep him safe. He has extra hours now where carers go and sit with him for the afternoon so he will be fine thankfully Smile
PJ custard with dried Custard powder l love it esp the thick skin on the top Smile
Fluffy don't like Vienetta l can't even spell it Grin
Nero sharpen dat pencil of yours Grin
Better get to bed , have a great night sleep everyone Smile

Mrsmadevans · 17/03/2020 05:46

283 Good morning everyone 😀
Couldn't sleep been up since 4 🙄
Keep thinking l have symptoms 🥺🙄🤗
I haven't.
I made a cuppa and bought it up to DH , big mistake . His chomping and sniffing nearly drove me nuts 🤣
My Wonderful sister is 'looking after' Mum today 🤣 so l have a day off and nowhere to go 🤗
Have a good day everyone take care 😘

pussycatinboots · 17/03/2020 06:16

Morning,
DH is in an "at risk" group, so we're not going out. I'll do the shopping once or twice a wk. He said he'll go for a walk to get out, on a nice day we can sit in the garden. We can still go out in the car, i guess.
Mrs have a lovely quiet day.
I can recommend box-sets of ITVs Flesh and Blood with Imelda Staunton and BBCs The Split, series 1 and 2 on iplayer.

WreckTangled · 17/03/2020 06:20

Really fire? It's so confusing! I have a team meeting today and a school to go to. What can I do though? I'll just try not to touch anyone...

Mrsmadevans · 17/03/2020 07:13

Wreck as long as you take precautions and keep to the recommended social distance then there is nothing more you can do. I am sure you will be fine m'dear try not to worry easier said than done l know 😊.
We are going to Mum's and shopping a couple of times a week but apart from that we are not going to be going anywhere. This isn't going anywhere and we have to look after everyone. I am like you Boot DH and Mum are my worry , hell l don't even want to get it myself it sounds horrendous 🙄

NoWordForFluffy · 17/03/2020 07:24

Morning!

I wish the government would just TELL us what to do. Like every other country. Not give wishy washy, contradictory, 'advice'.

But I'll just keep on keeping on and see what happens!

I need to speak to a Defendant today about vacating a Trial as my client needs to self isolate for 12 weeks. It's going to cause chaos!

I got a NowTV offer of Sky Cinema for £1 a month for two months. The kids are covered for a while! 😂
