Morning!

New thread for our 'bonus' day today.

It's the anniversary of our gran dying today; she was a brilliant lady. Very young at heart. ❤️❤️ Very knowledgeable too.

It's windy today, isn't it? We have a Spanish-named storm coming across.

I think corona is concerning in the sense that any potential pandemic is concerning generally. And, as I said, I'm not that keen on being quarantined for a fortnight or more!

I also don't trust our government to act in our best interests over the whole thing.

Anyway, kids' party with DS today. Wooooo!

Firefly dd's residential is in May but is local and they're both due to go to France beginning of July. Just for the day though.

Mrs the shop will definitely be open.

Morning!

Bit of a scare this morning as DD's temp was over 38°, but DH then told me she'd been cocooned under a blanket with it wrapping round her head. She cooled down after a bit, so she must've briefly cooked herself!

I'm glad DH is on the same page as me with this; it makes it easier. I'd be frustrated in your shoes, Mrs.

I'm struggling with allotment motivation today. I'm not sure if I'm going to go. I should really, but I really can't be arsed!

Mrs I have every sympathy, mine was like that has a death wish one way or another, but has improved dramatically over the last couple of days. Ignore the numpty and fill the freezer. Oh, and yes - re meno, that is a big part of the problem Blush there's no way I could leave the house from Fri pm and it's still iffy now.

We had rain in the night too. DH only discovered this when he found his paint brushes hadn't dried Hmm I swear he'd sleep through anything.

I've put a pump dispenser of body lotion next to the soap to remind me to put moisturiser on after I wash my hands. They're not too bad considering all the washing, but my finger tips are starting to get rough which is a PITA for sewing as I keep snagging on the thread.

pussycatinboots · 15/03/2020 09:07

Emrys Congratulations! Smile

fluffy yep, cooked! Nice try at panicking you and DH though.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/03/2020 09:11

Boots, the eczema on my thumb does that. I've lost count of how many times I've unthreaded the bloody needle!

Em, I have tomatoes and chillies, but the peppers are being a bit slow! Hopefully they'll pop up soon.

pussycatinboots · 15/03/2020 09:39

Mine is my right index finger, I've got a card to sew for a birthday so I'm doing it left-handed instead. I've only stabbed myself once Grin

EmrysAtticus · 15/03/2020 09:45

Ah I reckon my tomatoes and chillies will appear next weekend as only planted them last weekend fluffy whereas the peppers were planted two weeks ago.

I haven't worn my wedding rings for a week now due to dried skin and cracking on that finger. Moisturising regularly and it is now improving.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 15/03/2020 09:57

Morning everyone. Hope you are all plodding away alright.

Busy day cleaning yesterday so hoping to have a chill out watching TV this afternoon.

Cooking dinner for the parents today as a late birthday present for Dad.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/03/2020 10:01

Mine were sown last weekend too, Em. The tomatoes are the only things not in a heated propagator though. I had 100% germination from the same pepper seeds last year, so hopefully they'll all come up eventually!

It seems like we're all cracking up (skin-wise) under all the strain of extra washing!

pussycatinboots · 15/03/2020 10:10

Emrys I haven't had my rings on for a couple of weeks either. I think it's actually quite sensible at the mo. Mine are a tad snug, so I'm not entirely convinced they're going to go back on Blush

FireflyGirl · 15/03/2020 14:59

Not-so-stealth boast - I saved the seeds from a normal pepper and a salad pepper a couple of months ago. Chucked them in a covered gravel tray in the airing cupboard not expecting much...

Have you covered them and put them somewhere warm?

My tomatoes have been a bit hit and miss, though - doesn't look like we'll be having marmande this year unless I go buy some more seeds 🤷

Wow Firefly Girl l am mightily impressed with your seedlings they are magnificent! Smile
Haven't worn rings for many years Boot & EM , it comes with the turf . Nursing and rings just don't mix nor wrist watches . I have been retired 3 years in May and l still don't wear my wedding ring or engagement or eternity Hmm.
Why have a lovely lunch with your DP am sure it will be yummy well done Smile Fluffy PJ you are both missing out on a good lunch m'dearsSmile
Dd2 sent me the poster , l thought it was excellent and haven't seen it anywhere else Smile puts the symptoms into perspective l thought.

pussycatinboots · 15/03/2020 15:15

That's a heck of a lot of baby peppers Shock...do you have gro-bag capacity for them and a polytunnel to keep them warm ?
Thanks for the tip Grin

Oh, and the rings - nah, never going back on even tried with soap my knuckles get in the way. Will have to draw a ring on with biro.

Mrsmadevans · 15/03/2020 15:20

Boot my Menopause was not too bad except for the clots but they were really awful . I didn't take HRT but l did take these for years from Wilkinsons and l swore by them.

Mrsmadevans · 15/03/2020 15:31

Have just given Dh a good talking to & l think l have got through , he has had his Eureka Moment yay! I think the poster from the DD2 has done the trick Smile. In the meantime my Dentist has just rung me to check if l have any symptoms or been in contact with anyone, l have said not and if l get any l will cancel the appt asap. I figure that they are being extremely careful and it will not hurt to go for a dental check up on Weds , l can change my mind , l am having doubts now but .... oh heck should l have cancelled it Hmm

pussycatinboots · 15/03/2020 16:15

Mrs I've been taking the equivalent Sains version, but the don't seem to be doing much.
Your dentist must be v worried to be ringing around on a sunday.
If it's just a check-up, I'd cancel tbh, but then you know I avoid dentists. I hate being tinkered with. DH has booked us both hair cuts for weds. I'll skip that too if i can, not corona, just hate anyone getting "that" close and breathing on me. I can be quite anti-social Grin

WreckTangled · 15/03/2020 16:24

I am feeling pretty scared about CV now. Expecting 400,000 ish to die. It's terrifying and there's still people accusing papers of scaremongering. I'm worried if I get it I would get help and will be left to die Blush I'm worried about money and the children's education and the fact that they have to go through this at all. My sister has had to postpone her wedding too. Eugh sorry to bring the mood down.

In other news look at my yorkies.

Mrsmadevans · 15/03/2020 17:02

@WreckTangled you won't be left to die , you may get it but you will be fine . Honestly, even though you have type 1 Diabetes , your control is amazing and you are young , fit and healthy and almost certainly one of the chosen ones to be saved. You work for the NHS, you are a valuable member of society, you are a Mum of two Dc and you have a Dh, you will be priority , hugs sweetheart you will be fine honestly , l really really believe that Smile

Mrsmadevans · 15/03/2020 17:03

Oh yes and Wreck where are the Yorkies ? Grin

WreckTangled · 15/03/2020 17:05

I can see the picture but I'll try again anyway...

Mrsmadevans · 15/03/2020 17:15

I don't know what to do about it tbh Boot l think l will go by my gut on the Tuesday & probably cancel Hmm . The tablets from Wilkinsons have excellent reviews. l don't know if they are the same amount Soy Isoflavones as the Sains but l think that was the ingredient that made the difference for me at least Smile

Mrsmadevans · 15/03/2020 17:18

Wow Wreck they are epic! Well done love!

pussycatinboots · 15/03/2020 17:27

They're HUGE! did you put little blue tablets in them? GrinGrin

EmrysAtticus · 15/03/2020 17:43

Great Yorkies wreck! Try not to worry lovely, even among people with underlying conditions the full recovery rate is very high!

Unless we show symptoms we are going to keep going to work and for walks in the open air and essential shopping but we aren't going to do softplay, swimming etc. Obviously if we get symptoms we will stay in.
