Morning!

New thread for our 'bonus' day today.

It's the anniversary of our gran dying today; she was a brilliant lady. Very young at heart. ❤️❤️ Very knowledgeable too.

It's windy today, isn't it? We have a Spanish-named storm coming across.

I think corona is concerning in the sense that any potential pandemic is concerning generally. And, as I said, I'm not that keen on being quarantined for a fortnight or more!

I also don't trust our government to act in our best interests over the whole thing.

Anyway, kids' party with DS today. Wooooo!

Ouch, Firefly. Is it still sore?

I didn't go to the training in the end; it was with a forensic accountants and was really the hard sell, so I opted out!

Sounds like a good idea re the maths course, Wreck.

I bought a third John Clayton cross stitch today. I'm such a fool! 😂

Boots, it's our dad's 70th birthday today; you're in good Piscean company!

FireflyGirl · 10/03/2020 19:50

No, thankfully Fluffy. It went off quite quickly, but I was just awake!

My dad's Pisces too. He's not quite as day-dreamy as DS, though.

In the 45 minutes between toilet trips (I have a sore throat, so have been drinking more!) work had installed tissues, and antibacterial sprays and wipes all across the main office and in the loos.

Would you benefit from the course, Wreck?

WreckTangled · 10/03/2020 19:55

Yes firefly as almost all jobs want a C in maths so it holds me back in some respects

NerosFiddle · 10/03/2020 19:59

Evening.

I have a Tesco order tomorrow and half the stuff is already out of stock. Apparently they've no hand wash, toilet roll, pasta or tea bags. I don't want to go into a panic and hoard (can't because there's nothing there anyway), but we've underlying conditions so better to be prepared.

pussycatinboots · 10/03/2020 19:59

Wreck I had a convo with DH earlier about phone nos. I can just about manage a number with a space - take the space away and I can't do it. Likewise CCard no's - I can do it in 4s, but still double check. I just can't read long numbers. God knows how I got a C, but I wouldn't now Hmm

PJMasksGhekko · 10/03/2020 20:17

Evening, I've had a text message from staff bank asking for help deep cleaning somewhere, 2/3 hours, not sure how long they will be deep cleaning, due to Coronavirus, I'm not doing it, but it's getting closer.

pussycatinboots · 10/03/2020 20:56

fluffy please tell me you sent him a card with a hedgehog on it Wink Which kit? I've seen a bothy one with two tabby cats which is a bit tempting Blush I'm gonna need more walls...

Neros smaller shops might have some? people tend to hit a bigger store when they panic buy.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/03/2020 21:23

This one, Boots. The third in this series.

I'll need more frames, walls and time! Grin

Which Bothy one is it? Love Crafts are doing £1 delivery until midnight tonight!

And no, just a boring 'Dad' card! 😂

Firefly hope the muscle is better tonight love Flowers l am trying to keep Mum safe. l have told her she only goes to the hairdressers and the Drs and Dentist and up to Bob's which is right out in the country so l hope l can keep them clear of it. Dd2 not feeling too bad now , think it is just a cold, no temp, no sob , slight sore throat. She's eaten her tea and gone to bed now anyway Smile
Wreck the maths course sounds a great idea Smile I bet you will take to it like a duck t'water Smile
PJ I wouldn't go to the deep cleaning either , I think it sounds quite risky to me , l hope it isn't dangerous for you there Flowers
Fluffy lovely x stitch m'dear , l don't blame you not going to the hard sell even if they did promise to feed you Grin it doesn't sound very interesting tbh. Hope your Dad Enjoyed his birthday Smile
Boot l prefer Boot Grin they have Felix & Whiskas on offer in Tesco
www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/promotions/A32804817
www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/302298899 Smile
Just done a shop on the Book people , they have an amazing clearance there , l had a lot of good books for 21 pounds , l felt bad because they are in administration and l felt as if l was taking advanyage and they were such a damn good company but then l realised they want to sell th ebooks off for the money so hopefully they can salvage some semblance of a business after this . Fingers crossed Smile
Nero l managed to get loads of everything today , try Home Bargains if you have one local , they were excellent there , they did restrict the hand gel to 2 per person though. I got Mum some toilet rolls and hand gel and gloves , it was well stocked. Tesco's shelves were bare in some places, soap, hand wash, toilet rolls, Paracetamols and hand gels to be exact Grin
Hope you manage to get your shopping ok tomorrow Smile
I better get to bed night everyone have a good night sleep tonight Smile

This one, it's a new one I think - not seen it before. I love the tiger, shire horse, hamster, puffin and hedgehog too so it'll probably snowball once I buy the first one - they do a lovely collie too.
The hedgehog's been back, he's pooed on the lawn since we mowed it Grin
Mrs They'll only eat fresh chicken Confused so they get fish flavour - they're normally about £8.50 when on offer but have gone up to a tenner. I'll try B&M later, I need compost today. what a glamorous life

Morning!

I've woken with a cold / sore throat. I've no fever though, so am in theory corona-free! I don't feel that marvellous, it has to be said!

Boots, that's lovely. ❤️❤️ I have three Bothy ones in my bag waiting to be done!

Bank of England base rate just been cut to 0.25% from 0.75%

NoWordForFluffy · 11/03/2020 07:24

I saw that, Boots (I've had two push notifications!).

Oh no fluffy! The gp surgery where my old office is has said no one is allowed to work with any cold symptoms from next week.

pussycatinboots · 11/03/2020 07:37

fluffy will they send you home, do you think?
looking at some of the symptoms, you may need extra loo roll without going into details at this time of the morning

NoWordForFluffy · 11/03/2020 07:48

I'll see what HR say when I tell them! Bearing in mind I travel on hotbeds of germs the train, I'm a prime candidate for illness!

Boots, I have plenty of loo roll!

PJMasksGhekko · 11/03/2020 08:41

Morning, I seem to have woken up to a tummy bug, Dh has taken Dd2 to school, I have a couple of things to do then I'm off back to bed.

NerosFiddle · 11/03/2020 08:47

Morning.

My local corner shop had hand wash and pasta so got some there last night. They were twice what I'd pay in Tesco but if the apocalypse comes I'll be prepared.

Fluffy they're not telling people with cold symptoms to self isolate yet, but according to bbc breakfast it could only be a week before it's brought in.

Going to get dc some books today.

pussycatinboots · 11/03/2020 09:19

PJ it must be catching. I feel your pain and share your symptoms, wasn't going to mention it over breakfast Grin

Neros at least you have some in now, that's the main thing.

pussycatinboots · 11/03/2020 10:06

Three F1 team members in self-isolation at Australian Grand Prix - Haas and McLaren

pussycatinboots · 11/03/2020 10:07

It's all going to pot PJ first the footy now the F1.
I wonder if Sky or BT will end up with loads of cancellations for their sports packages?

PJMasksGhekko · 11/03/2020 14:10

Ahhh hope not puss, let us at least win the Premier league 1st.

EmrysAtticus · 11/03/2020 14:44

It's starting to look increasingly likely that schools will be closed soon. Planning to get in some supplies of food, drink, gardening stuff, toys and DIY stuff to keep us all going!

At least the weather is set to improve from next week.

FireflyGirl · 11/03/2020 14:52

We've had a yellow warning for snow! What is this madness??

DS is pretty happy just staying home and playing Lego, so I'm not too worried about him. I, on the other hand, will be climbing the walls to 'do' something!!
