New thread for our 'bonus' day today.

It's the anniversary of our gran dying today; she was a brilliant lady. Very young at heart. ❤️❤️ Very knowledgeable too.

It's windy today, isn't it? We have a Spanish-named storm coming across.

I think corona is concerning in the sense that any potential pandemic is concerning generally. And, as I said, I'm not that keen on being quarantined for a fortnight or more!

I also don't trust our government to act in our best interests over the whole thing.

Anyway, kids' party with DS today. Wooooo!

We are watching Crufts , it's brilliant the dogs are just beautiful

Have re stocked our prepper stash today, we started one for brexit, it's now got more stuff in it, although i don't think it will last a week if we have to stay home, doesn't help that the teenager is living up to the teenage rumours

@ PJ we have plenty in here if we had to self isolate but not nice stuff to tempt our tastebuds if we were poorly . Plenty of soup though

I'm going to see a friend today with my other friend. We all went to school together and one has had a baby. Quite a drive away so will miss my old car when on the motorway. I'll have to plod along

DH always reminds me that he'd eat half a loaf and a pack of fish fingers and would still be hungry when he was a teen - every time we have fish fingers (he gets 4 now)
As the saying goes, I'd rather keep him a week than a fortnight

He doesn't eat things like fish fingers, he used to be really fussy, he's getting better at what he eats but it can still be very bland, he loves boiled eggs though

Afternoon everyone
I had an early morning phone call half 8 from my NDN, his boiler had gone and he was freezing. Gave the Gas board a ring they came at 9 , we left him at half ten, they managed to get it going but he will need a new boiler eventually. He was very rude to the Gas man accused him of just trying to get him to sell a new boiler . I don't think the gasman could care less tbh it is just with NDN being 90 he has had a lot of trouble with the boiler this Winter and he has been without heating several times . Oh l don't know it seems you can never please ppl .

It's raining so hard, there's a constant flow down the window... I will not be making it out to the allotment this weekend!!

My tomatoes, peppers, chillis and aubergines have just germinated, but as the greenhouse is still not back up and running (it currently has no roof) I won't be sorting them out either.

So, I'm currently reading my cookery books instead while listening to the rain

Afternoon!

I've been to the allotment today and am windswept and knackered now. My parsnip seeds are now in the ground though, which is progress!

Yesterday was a year since my shoulder op, and it's flown. It still aches a bit, but at least I'm not in the constant pain I was in.

Firefly, I'm going to sow my peppers, chillies, tomatoes this afternoon. We only have the base of our new greenhouse in situ. Building it is next Sat's job!

Mrs, that's not good re your neighbour. Moaning at people trying to help isn't polite, is it?

Going to sow my first lot of tomatoes and chillies this afternoon too :) might put my onion sets in pots too as soil too wet still to put them in.

Sorry I went awol. I had a bit of a medical issue and needed some time to get my head around it all. A big thank you to fluffy and especially Mrs for checking in on me. It was very much appreciated.

Dh is watching the Scotland v France match , he said to me this morning that my horror of the rugby will go in time . l read him what l said re the rugby yesterday and l think he felt sorry for me Bless him he is a darling on times
DD1 rang to say Bob wanted to come down and Mum didn't know what to do , I said 'what do you want to do Mum , do what you want not Bob or anyone else, do what you want' so she confessed she wanted him to come down so he did . She was going down to my brothers for lunch but not till 3 o'clock , so they would have been n their own till then. The problem being the sister and brother don't want her to see him on a Sunday but l think to myself if they want to be together then let them be. It's like a geriatric Romeo and Juliet or Bob & Barbara

I've had a good day just got back and straight into my pjs

puss thank you for the gardening advice. I have a few herb pots now, they've been going for years (basically I leave them alone 99%of the time). Will consider some salad type things too though.

PJ you mentioned dog hair - we hoover our dog every few days to avoid this problem. He's such a weirdo, he lies down like he's being petted 😂 (ps we also give him medication like it's a treat if he needs it so he does sit - treat - paw - treat - lie down - tablet - roll over - treat. He's literally never noticed 😂).

I have been so busy the last few days. Been dog sitting for my sister as she and niece have hand foot and mouth. Nephews have moved in with my parents and it's bedlam up there. She's not well so I have her dog.

Am just about to go and get freezing and soaked through walking them both 🙄🙄

Wreck, I put my pyjamas on after my bath earlier. I always do on a Sunday!

I have now sown peppers, chillies (5 kinds!), cucumbers, cucamelons, lemongrass, basil, leeks and tomatoes inside and we did peas and broad beans yesterday. I feel like I've caught up with myself a bit now!

Oh they've definitely drawn the short straw puss. Dog is a very bright collie cross who knew no tricks and no understanding of basic manners when she got here on Friday. She quickly learned not to jump on people or furniture unless invited, not to scavenge and she now does sit, stay, fetch, drop, lie down, dance and jump. She's a bit rubbish at rolling over but she'll learn. I've literally never met such a clever dog.

Cats make me nervous - they're always so superior . MIL used to have a cat that would sit on top of fence posts and shelves and bat you on the head as you walked by - no reason except to amuse himself 🙄

It is mad here Fluffy but nephews are testing my parents patients so I'll take this chaos over a stroppy 9 year old any day 😂

Morning!

It's a bit breezy out there! It made me cry walking to the station!

Mondays are so depressing with the whole week ahead of me. Sigh!

I think Mrs' mum and Bob are cute too. They had their life partners die, so why wouldn't they crave companionship? It's normal human behaviour, surely?

DS was annoying overnight and woke us a few times, for non-specific reasons. I'm tired now.

It's a glorious day outside here this morning. Why couldn't it have been like this yesterday?!?

We've had a busy weekend, and DS was difficult to wake this morning. He's come downstairs and snuggled under a blanket, think he's tired and might be coming down with something. Getting him ready for school is going to be fun!
