NoWordForFluffy · 29/01/2020 17:19

So exciting re the house, Mrs!

I'm standing on the train home. Again. It's too hot so I'm trying very hard not to keel over!

These names are great for the hogs!

Fanny Grin l loved the clip of the badger, he was having a good old rub- a- dub- dub Grin l can't get the pic out of my head now of your DH in the bath performing all his moves Grin
Fluffy, you poor thing l hope you are home now with a naice cuppa and your feet up Smile.
l know it's all guns blazing Grin , the Halifax mortgage adviser did a good job but wants DD2 to attend another appt re the critical care insurance she wants her to have and the house & contents policy. I am not so dull , l told DD2 it's not necessary, she doesn't need critical illness, she is only 24 and she can get house & contents online from the Halifax for £105 (l did a price comparison) and she is really busy in work with the Six Nations on and it is not convenient. We were there an hour & 40 yesterday, she had to have a half day, she has applied for the mortgage, they have accepted her and conveyancing has been sorted, so it is just time now. I think if DD2 goes to another appt for an hour & a half Shock as the mortgage advisor recommended then she will feel obliged to take up her Ins . She run through some figures for the monthly outgoings and said 30 a month for home & contents & 30 a month for critical illness!!!! That is 720 for just ins! I think they like to get them on board because once they are then they are more likely to stay because of lethargy Hmm
Thank you Why re the house we are so pleased at long last !
Mumba , l know it is all happening lol . Dh will be 64 bless him Smile

Lulu on the on show Hmm l can't bear her Grin

Mrsmadevans · 29/01/2020 19:20

Did you see Milo the beautiful commuter cat just now Grin
He is gorgeous!

FireflyGirl · 29/01/2020 19:24

My hog feels very left out.

Apparently 'Hollis' is a unisex name starting with 'H' Hmm Bit trendy, but he/she will get over it Grin

The cat food and biscuits had all gone this morning. So either Hollis is very pleased with himself, or else the cats dined Al fresco last night!

I'm very excited about your DD's house, MrsM. DH was worried about me showing everyone round ours when we moved in, he thought they might think I was bragging. I explained that they're all just as nosy as I am! I love looking round other people's new houses and all the ones locally that go up for sale on RightMove

Firefly Rightmove is my guilty pleasure. I'm currently virtually house hunting for DD1, us (in this area for lottery win houses, mortgage free houses and cosy village cottages), us (in the north west for all of the above plus a dockside apartment) and MIL (she has no intention of moving).

NoWordForFluffy · 29/01/2020 19:45

I love a lottery win house search! 😂😂 Shame we'll never win.

Mrs, your DD really doesn't need their insurances, no way! Get her signed up to Top Cashback and Quidco and buy stuff through there. Plus her internet etc. She'll amass a small fortune very quickly in setting everything up via cashback sites.

Grin Grin @TheWoollybacksWife
That is so funny m'dear Smile
Ahh bless you @FireflyGirl , Hollis sounds fab , you must have watched The Bill when you were younger Grin .l am living vicariously through my DD2 . l too want to have a new build with a lovely kitch and a lovely bathroom and painted completely in white with white doors and silver handles with a sprinkler system installed Grin. I had no idea there was a sprinkler system installed in every new build now Shock, am not sure that is a good idea with these youngsters but better to be safe than sorry Grin
Fanny, they must have loved you very much Smile my aunties & uncles on my Dad's side wouldn't give a toss for me or my house Hmm miserable bgrs Smile

Mrsmadevans · 29/01/2020 19:53

Oh bgr that reminds me Wreck mentioned me getting a referral from her. I will have to see what it is all about Hmm. where is she ? Hope she is alrightSmile
Fluffy, l will have a good look at it and tell DD2. Thank you m'dear Smile

TheWoollybacksWife · 29/01/2020 19:56

I'm in a new build MrsMad and I haven't got sprinklers. I think I might be missing out Grin

I do have white doors (under the grubby fingerprints) and silver door handles though.

@Woolly Grin l need white doors and silver handle , they are a necessity! Grin The sprinklers are compulsory in New builds in Wales. l only just found out myself , great idea , hope others follow Smile

Mrsmadevans · 29/01/2020 20:14

Fanny, we all need lovely Aunties and Uncs like yours, bless them Smile
If l ever get 2 mins l will tune into the Bill Grin we loved it !

Mumbassa · 29/01/2020 21:16

Flouncy, that’s hilarious, I can’t stop imagining it😂

She definitely doesn’t need critical care insurance, mrs. Stick to your guns. Are you doing anything for your DH’s birthday?.

I love a good rightmove search, firefly. I’d never be able to afford anything I look at but it’s good to dream Grin.

I’m about to watch White house farm, it’s all kicking off now, it’s so interesting.

Mrsmadevans · 29/01/2020 21:56

We aren't doing anything for Dh birthday no Mumba, he will have a birthday cake and cards and the DDS will buy him some naice pressies Smile
Mum is obsessed with WHF l haven't watched it at all. I don't really like RL programmes like these . Prefer a good old makebelieve whodunnit Smile
I am sticking to my guns , no critical illness payment! Grin

FireflyGirl · 29/01/2020 22:10

To be honest, mumbassa, we probably wouldn't be able to afford anything in our village now. It's a rather posh commuter village, most of the houses are going for at least 1.5 times what we paid, and there's a fair amount of 5 bed detached properties set in 20 acres with their own hermit. Good for having a nosy at, but they don't have swimming pools, so not lottery-win worthy Grin

This one looks interesting (not my village, mine is much smaller and would be too outing, but not too far away), but if photo 7 is the 'leisure complex' I think they're over selling it... Wink

FireflyGirl · 29/01/2020 22:11

MrsM have you been watching Death in Paradise, then? I love a good murder Wink

Mrsmadevans · 29/01/2020 22:27

Firefly , I haven't watched it, even though it is right up my street and l really liked Karl Russell since the My Family show Grin , l wanted to watch it but Dh has the boxes all the time, they are welded to his body like 3 extra limbs, albeit small and black Hmm Grin Grin

Mrsmadevans · 29/01/2020 22:39

I really like the grounds & the outside of the house Firefly but l don't like the interior. It's dated, fussy, all those drapes and awful tiles. I think they have ripped the character out of the farmhouse to try to make it look contemporary. l am a harsh critic l know but l love Georgian style houses and was expecting to see it inside Grin

Mumbassa · 29/01/2020 22:49

If sounds like a great day, mrs. DS is having a tea party with some of his friends around. I’m loving WHF. And I don’t usually like real life dramas.

That house is incredible, firefly, it’s crazy that some people can actually live in something that grand.

This is my cup of tea it's a stones throw from us and it's absolutely beautiful . l love it .
Yes it will be lovely , we will just do a cake for him , we never go overboard for our birthdays tbh. I used to buy and buy and now as we get older you just realise you don't want more stuff Grin
Your Ds will have a lovely time l am sure Smile
Best get to bed night everyone Smile

This is my dream home, I love it. If only we had that sort of money.

We don’t go overboard with birthdays, DH is a bugger to buy for and I don’t want anything so we just keep it low key. I much prefer it.
