Right I’m up! I’m about to brave Tesco...wish me luck!

Anyone else food shopping at this ungodly hour and regretting it already?

No. But thinking about it!

SunsetBoulevard3 · 23/12/2019 05:42

Considering Sainsbury’s had run out of Brussels sprouts and stuffing as well as bacon wrapped sausages yesterday I am goi g to have to search other supermarkets today. Worried everything will have run out.

TheGirlFromStoryville · 23/12/2019 05:43

Yes just finishing a very strong coffee then off out.
Hopefully most other people are still in bed!
This is crazy!!!!!

PorridgeAgainAbney · 23/12/2019 05:47

Yep, sat in the car park waiting for doors to open. Thought I'd be the only idiot doing this but there are about 50-70 cars already here. Had about 4 hours sleep so something will definitely be forgotten. Grin

Peridot1 · 23/12/2019 05:51

I’m still in bed but getting up in a bit to go to M&S for 7. Just for a few things not main shop though.

Will be sneaking out so as not to wake the dogs so no cuppa for me yet.

Picking up turkey and veg from local farm shop tomorrow.

Anything I can’t get in either M&S or farm shop I’ll get in local Co-Op.

Galvantula · 23/12/2019 05:51

Yes getting up now.

Then planning v relaxed rest of the day!

KatherineJaneway · 23/12/2019 05:52

Good luck!

I'm up early due to having cats Xmas Grin

Waitrose delivery arriving this morning then off to Tesco for any bits they don't have.

anxioussue · 23/12/2019 05:53

I'm glad we have no 24 hour supermarkets here. Good luck you insane people 😂

Bickles · 23/12/2019 05:56

Sitting outside Sainsbury’s waiting for it to open

BabyMoonPie · 23/12/2019 05:58

I hope the shelves are well stocked for you all braving an early shop. I'm awake because DD woke me up having a coughing fit. We have a delivery coming from Sainsburys between 9 and 10 and I'm hoping there's not too much missing. I have a bad feeling.

ChristmasVag · 23/12/2019 06:01

Yep!

HappyHarlot · 23/12/2019 06:02

Nope, I’m up for work.

Good luck.

Pixxie7 · 23/12/2019 06:10

Having a delivery this eve.

drinkingeggnogoutofamug · 23/12/2019 06:13

Nope I'm off to work but going to ask to leave early so I can get something done!

Good luck fellow shoppers

littlestrawby · 23/12/2019 06:18

Oh no! I'm about to leave and am now panicking that I'm not early enough! Good luck everyone Grin

Sssneks · 23/12/2019 06:22

Good luck one and all.

SnorkMaiden81 · 23/12/2019 06:26

I'm getting ready to go to work, but you have my support, brave comrades!

Hagbeth · 23/12/2019 06:32

Yes, on our way to Aldi 😂

SpeckledyHen · 23/12/2019 06:34

I used to do this when I was a SAHM and my kids were little- saved dragging them along in the day time . Got it done before husband had to go to work.I enjoyed it !

generalh · 23/12/2019 06:34

I booked to collect the turkey from Sainsburys between 8-10am but my son has said he will take me earlier so we can do THE shop and hen I can queue for my orders whilst he takes the shopping to the car. Going to have a shower soon and then drive to Sainsburys and be as quick as I can around there!

WellErrr · 23/12/2019 06:37

Our Aldi opens at 8. I’ll be there ten to, with all the children as no childcare. Been dreading it all week but once it’s done, it’s done! Learnt from previous years......!

SlayingDragons · 23/12/2019 06:38

We were at M&S for opening at 5am - there were at least 30 cars in the carpark before opening. Home fo unpack by 5.30am but then had to go back out again to go to Sainsburys which opened at 6am for all the stuff M&S either didn’t have, or which was dated today/tomorrow. Was mainly shopping for Boxing Day so didn’t really want things like raspberries dated today! No melons at all in M&S either. Now done Sainsburys and back home and back to bed for another couple of hours

TeaLibrary · 23/12/2019 06:39

Good luck everyone. Might be a bit grim on roads / in shops today.

Meckity1 · 23/12/2019 06:42

I may set off early for Aldi which opens at 8 here. Don't really need much, but considering popping out.

It isn't the shopping that terrifies me, it's the parking! I haven't been driving a year yet, and while I can manage all sorts, I have no confidence in parking.

tbh I actually plan to have a quick drive by of the supermarkets at around 4pm tomorrow, just to see what's marked down. Last time I tried that, it wasn't too bad.

BillHadersNewWife · 23/12/2019 06:44

I'm in Oz and it's 5.10pm here. I've just got back from shopping for Christmas Eve food with DD.

We're going to MIL"s for Christmas Day so I don't need to do that thank goodness.

We ended up with a tonne of junk! Xmas Grin I let DD choose a lot....so looks like we're having a child's party for Christmas Eve tea!

Basically trifle, crisps, chocolates, pickles, cheese and crackers with coke! Xmas Grin

I'm happy with that! I might ask DH to get a ham tomorrow...if he can't I will. We also need potatoes and frozen Yorkshires for Boxing Day!
