Right I’m up! I’m about to brave Tesco...wish me luck!

Anyone else food shopping at this ungodly hour and regretting it already?

I'm still waiting for the email telling me what good will be delivered. That will let me know how much I have to shop for at Tesco's. I need fresh bread and they are the best round here.

golightlytoday · 23/12/2019 06:50

In m and s for 6am. Home now. All done ✅

Meckity1 · 23/12/2019 06:51

I'm up early for other reasons, may consider Tesco at 10pm tonight. Aldi looks like an army marched through it late at night, though, so would rather go early. Don't need much.

TheQueef · 23/12/2019 06:52

Good luck comrades.
I got mine delivered so the aisles are clear for ya.

Cantsleeppast3am · 23/12/2019 06:53

Food shopping as soon as I've dropped my dd at nursery then a full days work. Have to collect an overpriced frozen doll( the only thing she's asked for!) then a 9.30 hospital appointment tomorrow for her and then clean house and prep for the dinner tomorrow! No relaxing at all!
Oh and still all my wrapping to do.
I could cry!!

LucaFritz · 23/12/2019 06:56

My local morrisons has changed it's opening hours from 7am to 10pm its now open at 6am till midnight until Christmas! Im tempted to go for a look around since im wide awake

Blankiefan · 23/12/2019 06:56

For anyone who's been to M&S, how was it? I'm planning to hit it around 8. Is this madness?

EveHolt · 23/12/2019 06:57

Aiming to get to m&s for 7.30, though looks like I'll be seeing the likes of you lot there!!

Not even getting my turkey, that's due to be picked up tomorrow...

Clangus00 · 23/12/2019 06:57

I went at 4:30. Bliss

MsJaneAusten · 23/12/2019 07:01

Ah man. My Sainsbury’s opens at 7. I’m just finishing my coffee then heading in. You’ve all scared me that it’ll already be packed.

JurassicShay · 23/12/2019 07:01

Just had my email from Asda to say my order has been picked, 8 substitutes. Nothing major though and no unavailable so no shopping trip needed here.

WorldsOnFire · 23/12/2019 07:02

I’ll be in Waitrose at 8am
There’s a specific item I’ve promised to pick up and apparently a delivery came in overnight last night 👍🏻

thegreylady · 23/12/2019 07:08

Morrison’s delivered most stuff yesterday but we are at my daughter’s for Christmas dinner so no panic for me 🙂

BabyMoonPie · 23/12/2019 07:08

Sainsburys have sent the substitutes email. Only 2 but one is the turkey! Not sure if it's OK as can't find the substitute item on the website. Fingers crossed

Bluerussian · 23/12/2019 07:08

I didn't know the shops were open that early! Blimey, I'd hate to go out shopping at 5.30am. I order online and have things delivered, much easier. No shortage of sprouts around here and you can buy sausages and wrap them in bacon, it doesn't take long.

Amazon Fresh do delivery from Waitrose within a few hours - I haven't used their service, just the usual supermarket deliveries for me, but my son has recently and is delighted with it.

TodaysFishIsTroutALaCreme · 23/12/2019 07:09

I've been, shopped, unpacked and am just having a cuppa before heading off to work. It was all over civilised.

LoudBatPerson · 23/12/2019 07:11

I just got back from picking up my Christmas food to order shop from Sainsburys. There were quite a few people there and the front rows of car park all filled up when I finished ( at about 6:45 am.

The main shop will be delivered by Ocado later this morning and there are no subs or unavailable items so I can just put my feet up and crack open the mince now Grin

TreeSwayer · 23/12/2019 07:12

Dh and I will be in Asda for 8am as that is when the Scan & Go opens (plus pizza counter) so we don't have to queue at the tills. Asda usually opens at 7am on a Monday. It opened at midnight.

Anything that could be bought ahead has been so this is just mainly vegetables that I couldn't buy earlier. There are about 10 items to get, so not a large shop. In and out.

In the past I was in there for 6am as my body naturally wakes then anyway. I actually like it, seeing the extra crates of potatoes and carrots at the end of the aisles, it feels like Christmas is almost here. My children are teenagers so I miss the magic but they still hang up a stocking for Father Christmas Xmas Grin

frumpety · 23/12/2019 07:14

Only up at 5.30 as working today and tomorrow , although hopefully will be able to take an hours holiday at lunchtime tomorrow to finish my gift shopping.
Good luck everyone hitting the shops Xmas Smile

Bickles · 23/12/2019 07:14

Very serene in Sainsbury’s but party food selection rubbish. Just paying in Asda for nice party food selection and don’t have to shop again until 28th for NY (have 17 for NY!).
Got ready prepared sprouts so am happy- they always sell out!

TipseyTorvey · 23/12/2019 07:15

My sainsbury delivery is booked for 9am to 10am so I'm waiting to see what doesn't turn up but there's a waitrose within walking distance so I can always amble down there if needs be. You are all very energetic going to the supermarket so early, I'm sitting on the sofa in a dressing gown mentally cleaning the house, probably won't get around to half of it once DC are up though.

Newbie1981 · 23/12/2019 07:16

Why would you? It's open all day haha. Are you one of those who will be outside Next at 5am in Boxing Day too?

MotorwayDiva · 23/12/2019 07:16

I'm just waiting for asda shopping list, may need to pop out later but there are at least ten supermarkets within a ten min drive from here, plus farm shops and corner shops so should be OK, just hope they don't substitute the turkey!

LoudBatPerson · 23/12/2019 07:17

To be honest, my body is stuck in the habit of waking at 5am when DH gets up from work so for me not much different. Even though I finished work for the year last week I still haven't managed to sleep past 5am. At least the shops give me something to do at this hour Grin

MotorwayDiva · 23/12/2019 07:34

Hooray, only one substitute, they only have half the tomatoes requested.
