What is the strangest thing your DC has put on their Christmas list/letter to Santa?

My mum got my 2.5yr old DD a letter to Santa kit. 99p - really cute and fun. Includes a wish list. Obviously I had to help my DD but she did tell me some things, the strangest of things being "hills" and "apples and bananas"

DD was addicted to plasters at one time, so they appeared in her stocking for a couple of years.

Blu tack.

SheisMammyof2 · 27/11/2019 22:40

An orange unicorn scarf! I managed to find baby bibs on Etsy with an orange unicorn pattern, so I got the maker to make a lovely fur lined neck warmer for him. I was thrilled recently when I overheard DS telling his friend that Santa must be real because he got him an orange unicorn scarf... which didn't even exist! Grin

This is a lovely thread. Smile

Ds1 aged 8 wanted 10 hedgehog items. Done. Following year: 10 more hedgehog related items...... Carried on til he was 15.

Prompted DD1 to request pandas in similarly vast quantities. They are adults now but still have their collections.

DD2 aged 9 asked that his present money was donated to a charity that build wells in communities without water. She still sends Christmas money to charity; such a kind hearted woman.

Dd2.... her present money - doh.

Last year DD (4) asked for a second toilet in our flat so she didn't have to wait for daddy to finish! And a little sister!! This year she wants a back brush, much easier and Santa will oblige!

FoxInABox · 27/11/2019 22:59

When my eldest was 2 she asked for cucumber.
My younger DD asked for her own toilet brush when she was 3 (as I wouldn’t let her play with the one in the bathroom!), that’s one of my favourites.
DS asked for a 1 pint milk bottle last year (aged 5) as they were the ‘cutest thing’ he’d ever seen!

Cat clothes!? I'm not getting them, the poor cats are grappled enough Hmm

BallacheForLife · 28/11/2019 01:00

This thread is brilliant! Don't have much to contribute but hope you get more replies

Emelene · 28/11/2019 01:12

My LG is only 1 but my mum tells the story of when I was about 4 and announced a few days before Christmas that I wanted "a big red ted and a little red ted."

No internet / amazon prime back then but they utilised an army of friends and found both teddies. Childhood favourites. Grin

DramaAlpaca · 28/11/2019 01:21

As a four year old, DS2 asked for a polar bear. The cuddly one he received on Christmas morning didn't quite cut it Grin

AlliKaneErikson · 28/11/2019 07:53

DD has put Chris Hemsworth on her list...she’s 9!!!

IthinkIsawahairbrushbackthere · 28/11/2019 08:19

A roll of sticky tape.

Bubbles.

A pregnancy pillow.

nickdrakeslovechild · 28/11/2019 09:23

My 7 year old has asked for a sun lounger!

Mishfit0819 · 28/11/2019 11:06

This thread is brilliant Grin

My brother once asked my mum for "grown up size" Mars bars, because we were only ever allowed snack size ones as treats when we were little. He ate it all in one go Xmas morning and sicked it back up not long after, too much excitement!

He's an adult now but I always buy him a Mars bar as part of his Xmas still Grin

Abouttime1978 · 28/11/2019 11:34

My 2 year old has asked for:

A sea-toy with salt and vinegar on
A lollipop toy

Absolutely no idea! However this was after we'd already done Santa lists, so I told her to put it on her birthday list...

I suspect I'm just kicking the can down the road but hey ho!

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 28/11/2019 11:38

Another one with blu tack. To be fair she has sensory issues and loves the feel of it.

Bogiesaremyonlyfriend · 28/11/2019 11:39

IamNOTmagic that is very kind of you! I did manage to find something I think that sorted it!! Thanks Flowers

Theseptemberissues · 28/11/2019 13:17

DS, 3 - a real life crocodile and all of the toys Hmm

Maxineputyourredshoeson · 28/11/2019 16:45

@Abouttime1978 do you think she meant one of these?

Absoluteunit · 28/11/2019 16:54

DD is autistic and loves bar codes. Last year she wanted a bar code scanner

Abouttime1978 · 28/11/2019 16:55

No idea - but it looks fab! I'm storing that one for future use! @Maxineputyourredshoeson

iklboo · 28/11/2019 16:57

DS once put 'just anything really, thank you' when he was about six. Very helpful.

wanderings · 28/11/2019 17:26

I know a child who specified they wanted something too big to wrap, so they would have to be led to it for a big reveal (like her friend, who had been blindfolded before receiving a bike).
