What are your must have items on your Christmas morning breakfast?

OP posts:
georgialondon · 17/11/2019 14:38

Croissants, Buck's Fizz and chocolate

Parker231 · 17/11/2019 14:40

Coffee and selection boxes

gingercat02 · 17/11/2019 14:41

Bacon and egg rolls, champagne, chocolate. Dinner mid afternoon. Pud, cheeese and more booze early evening

IWillWearTheGreenWillow · 17/11/2019 14:44

Pain au chocolate, croissants with the jam Father Christmas brought (everyone with a stocking gets their own mini pot of jam), coffee, posh orange juice, champagne, hot chocolate. Probably keto cinnamon rolls too this year as I've stopped eating grains and feel so much better!

NaughtyLittleElf · 17/11/2019 14:56

This year I'm planning Cinnamon Rolls (JusRoll probably) and toasted panettone with butter and jam/Nutella. No booze but plenty of tea.

There will be lots of Christmas Eve buffet leftovers in the fridge for grazing, if anyone wants more. Dinner will be around 2pm.

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 17/11/2019 14:57

Chocolate usually! Some years I make the mistake of a glass of something alcoholic with it and then spend the rest of the day struggling to stay awake! Might try some baileys in my coffee this year and see if the caffeine counteracts the alcohol...

wineisnecessary · 17/11/2019 15:18

Buck's Fizz coffee and usually a full cooked breakfast of eggs, bacon , sausage, hash browns & beans . I always get the really nice sausages . I suggested to dh that may not do cooked breakfast this year and he was most disappointed as I rarely do cooked breakfast so it's a treat . I just feel too full for Christmas lunch . I'm thinking of doing nice breakfast rolls but may do cooked breakfast for whoever wants it . I like a Buck's Fizz in the morning though but then I won't have anything alcoholic till I'm cooking lunch .

Fresh oh.

Good coffee in the plunger pot.

Either bacon sambos or freshly baked pastries.

Often some fresh fruit or berries alongside it.

nowayhose · 17/11/2019 15:33

Hot croissants filled with melted cheese and crispy bacon with a glass of OJ.
We eat lunch at around 3-4pm and this brekkie keeps us until then.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 17/11/2019 15:38

Ham, eggs, tea, chocolate. We're early risers, so plenty of time to digest that before a late lunch.

cookiemonster5 · 17/11/2019 15:47

@GingerRogers84 do they?! I know where I'm headed next week lol

BeaLola · 17/11/2019 16:03

Bluntness100 · 17/11/2019 16:11

Croissants, bubbles, coffee, scrambled eggs, salmon, orange juice.

Deelish75 · 17/11/2019 16:12

Coffee, orange juice, cereal, croissants, pain au chocolate, fruit and then we move on to champagne. We usually have lunch around 1pm.

WeirdCatLady · 17/11/2019 16:14

Alcohol and chocolate Xmas Grin

stackthecats · 17/11/2019 16:14

Orange juice, and Waitrose mini croissants and pains au chocolat! Used to make Nigella's Christmas muffins which are lovely, but to be honest Christmas morning needs less faffing and cooking, and my 6 y o is always happy with a mini croissant. We go to church at 10 and then come back for Christmas lunch at about 1. I'd love the idea of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs but it would be far too much faff in the chaos of Christmas morning!

Cyw2018 · 17/11/2019 16:19

Weetabix and semi skimmed milk.

Save room for later!

Beautiful3 · 17/11/2019 16:29

Apple juice/orange juice with croissants, pain au chocolate, and cheese pasties.

8Iris8 · 17/11/2019 16:36

Who's doing all the washing up after these breakfasts??
What an odd question to ask in the context of the thread! But to answer: the dishwasher which will be filled by whoever happens to be in the kitchen when the last plate is finished with - same as breakfast on any other day if the year :)

iklboo · 17/11/2019 16:48

Who's doing all the washing up after these breakfasts??

DS or whoever didn't do the cooking.

WalkAwaySugarbear · 17/11/2019 16:52

We've done bacon rolls in the past with bucks fizz and coffee. This year we're having croissant and pain au chocolates

PrincessHoneysuckle · 17/11/2019 17:18

@LeekMunchingSheepShagger brandy in coffee is my go to :)

Lovelydovey · 17/11/2019 17:23

Kids like home made pancakes, I like scrambled eggs on toast and DH likes cereal like every day.

stayingaliveisawayoflife · 17/11/2019 17:24

Warm part baked rolls cooked in the oven with butter and jams or marmalade or crumpets!
