Just got back and for 3 people we've spent £85
That doesn't include alcohol or sweets /crisps/desserts etc
Not sure if that's a lot or standard

OP posts:
Schmoobarb · 22/12/2018 00:18

Nothing yet but I suspect it will be £200ish.

Titsywoo · 22/12/2018 00:21

More than I wanted to! I think about £300 but that's including feeding 12 on Xmas eve (and we have an expensive joint of beef from the butcher), lots of drinks, food for all 4 of us on Xmas day and we all got to choose our fav things so spent quite a bit on good cheese and smoked salmon.

neversleepagain · 22/12/2018 00:25

Weekly shop is £105 (usually around £80) plus £70 at Cook and £30 at M&S.
2 adults and 2 young DC.

thighofrelief · 22/12/2018 00:29

Online Tesco coming on 23rd, £125 that's for me and 2 adult sons (all gannets) plus my very elderly parents who will not eat much. No alcohol.

Davloumar · 22/12/2018 03:16

£140 worth of a shop is being delivered Sunday. Doesn't include booze

NotCitrus · 22/12/2018 05:01

£100 for turkey and all trimmings, £50 for puddings, biscuits, nibbles, then another 30 for veg and basics, but we then have a tradition of getting extra bargains at the last minute, being walking distance from 3 supermarkets. But apart from 5 of us for Christmas, we will be 3-8 people for the next week and I plan for us to need no cooking and few extras until our NYE party.

I think we will be eating turkey until at least Easter. We do rather go to town (and butcher had no small ones left, and it's clearly a year when they all turn up larger than planned!)

EmmaGrundyForPM · 22/12/2018 05:24

I have an Ocado delivery booked for Subdsy which is estimated to be £340. Then I've got a Turkeyand a ham to pick up from the butcher so I think that will be another £60ish. So £400 in all.

However, that is for the whole week and we have my sister and her family staying for 9 days. There will be 8 of us for the week plus my mum for 3 days.

bellajay · 22/12/2018 05:48

This is my husband’s department. We have a ‘don’t ask don’t tell’ policy as he loves cooking and hosting so is happy to spend whereas I would generally live on cheap pasta dishes and jacket potatoes, and feel a bit conflicted about spending so much money on a week’s food, even if we can afford it. This way we’re both happy, and admittedly I will very much enjoy the spreads he puts on!

Oliversmumsarmy · 22/12/2018 05:51

So far food shopping £0

Presents so far £0

flowerycurtain · 22/12/2018 06:03

Turkey alone is £85
I've spent about £100 on booze and soft drinks and probably a further £100 on freeze ahead food

Ocado deliver tomorrow for £100 for fresh stuff.

That's for 2 adults and 2 kids on Xmas eve and then 13 adults and 2 kids on Xmas day. I'm hoping the leftovers will feed us for 2 or 3 days then I will need to shop again for new year

TheBaltictriangle · 22/12/2018 06:29

Christmas week we're home so spent £150 including drinks, desserts and Christmas lunch for 5 plus our usual shopping.

New years week we're going away s/ c so a £75 delivery to our accommodation.

suddenlypanicked · 22/12/2018 06:50

£297.00 on ocado coming today
£83.00 at Lidl Yesterday

That's the food for breakfast also and Boxing Day and snack bits until Boxing Day

It's quite a bit because it's only one bottle of wine and one bottle of ice wine as I am pregnant so it's for guests

suddenlypanicked · 22/12/2018 06:52

Oh that's for me and my husband and my son who's 2 but eats basically only fish and pasta so he won't eat a lot of that
Have invited my BIL for chrismtas lunch not sure if he will come
2 friends for breakfast of croissants etc

Mayrhofen · 22/12/2018 06:55

About 250 but that includes the bird and the fillet steak and all the chocolate and nibbles and mince pies and booze, lots of booze.

WhirlwindHugs · 22/12/2018 07:00

I reckon, at least £250 to cover feeding 12 people for a day and a half...

WhirlwindHugs · 22/12/2018 07:01

(that was including drinks and alcohol)

Ragwort · 22/12/2018 07:01

About £300 but most of that is for a drinks party we are hosting, we are visiting family on Christmas Day & only need to contribute the pud & brandy butter, plus booze & chocolates. We tend to be given bottles by everyone who comes to the party (we don’t ask) so may end up ‘in credit’ Grin, assuming they are drinkable.

Oliversmumsarmy · 22/12/2018 07:01

Normally spend about £65 but that maybe go up if they have Schloer on at £1 per bottle

WhenLifeGivesYouLemonsx · 22/12/2018 07:06

Sod all Grin

Ruddle91 · 22/12/2018 07:07

Aldi:

Potato's 28p
Carrots 19p
Swede 19p
Cabbage 19p
Sprouts 19p
Beef joint for DH & DS (I won't eat it) £6
Bacon £3 + buns £1 for breakfast

BehemothPullsThePeasantsPlough · 22/12/2018 07:09

About 250 quid for 4 adults and 2 teens: that combines Ocado, the butcher’s order and the veg box. Including all food and snacks for 3 days but will be topped up with wine from our visitors. We buy high end meat for Christmas, so a lot of that is the turkey and the gammon.

truthtopower · 22/12/2018 07:09

Zero so far 😁

awesmum · 22/12/2018 07:10

I did a normal food shop - and bought a turkey?
Obviously not buying school packed lunch stuff, so substituted that with mince pies and boxes of chocolates etc. But only the change of chicken / beef roast to a turkey.

Worldshohohokayestmum · 22/12/2018 07:12

I have a £150 online delivery coming today but that includes food for the whole week for a family of 5 plus a couple of last minute gifts and wrapping

For the pp who mentioned £1 Schloer, Asda have them on offer for a pound at the moment

anniehm · 22/12/2018 07:33

No idea, been at least half a dozen times, but also picked up food for this/last week of course, have £60 of food ordered for Monday collection, plus still need parsnips and potatoes as they were out of Maris pipers and parsnips yesterday, also double cream was out
