Just got back and for 3 people we've spent £85
That doesn't include alcohol or sweets /crisps/desserts etc
Not sure if that's a lot or standard

£140 on main shop - food from Friday to Christmas Day including entertaining today, plus another £40 today on booze, Christmas crackers and bits and pieces. Only got veg to get now.
That’s for 4 of us Christmas Day, cheese to take to DBros for party, feeding 9 today and Sunday lunch tomorrow

I'm not sure. Probably £170 in actual money and about £250 in Nectar points.

There's a fair amount of booze in there which we've been drinking all month, along with plenty of cheese which has also been an all month thing!

I make loads from scratch, including mincemeat and other stuff with quite expensive ingredients. Where you don't have the economies of scale that supermarkets have, making small batches of stuff is hugely more expensive than buying similar from a shop.

I'm feeding 7 on CD and BD and I've been giving mince pies to my in laws in batches all month as I've made them!

Over the course of a month, I don't think it's that bad, as we've also got enough food and drink for a NYD buffet for 7 as well.

M&S have bags of Christmas veg on sale for 40p. Worth getting and storing for later.

I don't have Turkey, no one likes it so I'm not spending a fortune on it. We are having gammon instead. Potatoes (in goose fat), carrots, parsnips, Brussel sprouts, peas, Yorkshire puddings and 36 pigs in blankets all from aldi. Also bought a Christmas pudding, yule log and some huge fancy profiterole desert with whipped cream and double double for desert, again all from aldi.
Stuffing and gravy we already have in the cupboard.
Pop tarts for breakfast (b&m sell for under £2). Coke and lemonade and Schloer for drinks. We are not big drinkers, dh already has some alcohol in the cupboard and my parents are bringing wine that they were given for booking a cruise.
Also picked up aldi-pringle crisps (4 tubes), mince pies and caramel shortbread squares, and some nut mix for snacks.
Honestly no one in my house will go hungry and we will have a wonderful Christmas dinner for my £25. I used to spend 100s but realised most of it was untouched on Christmas day and we'd still be eating biscuits and cheese until Easter, so this year I've not bothered. I just don't like spending the equivalent of a holiday on food for just one day.
