Just got back and for 3 people we've spent £85
That doesn't include alcohol or sweets /crisps/desserts etc
Not sure if that's a lot or standard

But I have house guest from today!

Frouby · 22/12/2018 07:35

Spent £210 yesterday in Aldi for 4 of us to last until probably 28th. Then will spend about £100 today at Tesco on booze, a few bits and pieces I prefer from there and a bit of cleaning stuff.

We were away until Thursday tho, so needed pretty much everything. And we have a lot of party/picky food which is expensive for what it is I think.

Have 15 for NYD though, but find that cheaper than Christmas despite feeding a lot more.

mrsdaz · 22/12/2018 07:52

£200 so far but that’s with all meats, alcohol, snacks and sweets, cheeses etc.

We are hosting for other family members this year.

Girlicorne · 22/12/2018 14:16

2 adults 2 children here, got m and s order to collect xmas eve which is £160 going asda later for booze, elf breakfast, xmas eve buffet and extras, chocs etc and planning on spending around £250. That will do us from now through to 30th though.

E20mom · 22/12/2018 14:23

£225. Me, OH and toddler

Polly1977 · 22/12/2018 14:37

I’ve spent about £200 on food for 5 kids and 2 adults - that’s for dinner on 23rd, brunch on Xmas eve and all food for Xmas day, plus extras for Boxing Day that we’ll eat with leftovers (things like salad/ garlic bread/ crisps/ dips). That includes some booze but not all. I imagine having a lot of stuff left!! Cupboards are v v full!

totallycluelessoverhere · 22/12/2018 15:22

We spent £140 extra this week and will also spend £80 on a pre Christmas family meal out. We are not even spending Christmas Day at home as we are going to family. We don’t usually have much money but a generous cash gift meant we could spend a bit extra this week.

Notquiteagandt · 22/12/2018 16:20

About £200 in m&s and waitrose then another £50 for the turkey. Its free range from the farm shop and huge. Enough food to feed 8 for the holidays. Dont feel gone over the top though.

pallisers · 22/12/2018 16:24

About 500 That includes all the wine/sherry etc and dinner for xmas eve for 6 people, christmas dinner for 5 (with really good beef), and dinner for 10 on 26th. Plus some other regular groceries.

rabbitfoodadvocate · 22/12/2018 16:28

£48 for the whole week. Two adults (one preggers) and a dog. The lack of plonk obviously helps us massively!

fitflopqueen · 22/12/2018 16:30

about £140 not including meat or booze, 7 for lunch xmas day.

MustBeThin · 22/12/2018 16:38

Hard to tell because we've been adding extra Christmas bits to our weekly shop for weeks so we'd already bought all of our alcohol/goodies. Did our main shop Thursday and spend £82 for the whole weeks food. We already bought a turkey crown £13 for the 2 of us. Then I spent £15 on cheese from the butchers plus 2 weeks worth of meat for £20.

LtGreggs · 22/12/2018 16:40

About £300 - hosting 6 adults 2 children for four days. Someone else is bringing the drinks though.

Mummyme87 · 22/12/2018 16:44

We spent £150 today, £48 yesterday, and £60 day before. That is everything I think including nibbles this eve for 4 adults and a 4yr old, Christmas Eve nibbles for 2 adults and 4yr old, Christmas dinner for 2 adults and 4yr old.

BarbedBloom · 22/12/2018 16:46

£140, that is for two of us and then hosting five others on Boxing Day. Won’t need to shop till New Year now. I do still need to get soft drinks though

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 22/12/2018 18:18

£270. £180 in Aldi and the rest on an online Sainsbury's shop. I got the turkey for Christmas Day from Sainsbury's and a smaller one from Aldi to try later in the week as we haven't had our turkey from Aldi before. My alcohol was cheap as all from Aldi. Most expensive buy was DHs rhubarb gin and fever tree mixers. There are 6 of us.

LittleLlamaontheduskyroad · 22/12/2018 18:21

I've been getting bits & bobs over the past few weeks. Adding it all up, including alcohol and the non essential snacks I impulse bought it's about £150 give or take.

PumpedUpTermite · 22/12/2018 18:30

£800 but it’s for the week (normal food + treats + Xmas dinner + trimmings) for 19 people so I don’t think that’s too bad.

Arrowfanatic · 22/12/2018 18:39

Probably £300+ for 2 days. We have 9 for Xmas day and 12 for boxing day. I imagine some of it, like frozen party food won't all get eaten and so will last through to NYE.

I still need to do a proper, regular food shop but it'll have to wait. Left overs will be meals for the rest of 2018.

iAMequal · 22/12/2018 18:45

Probably around £90 to feed 8 for Xmas Day lunch and tea.

Bogiesaremyonlyfriend · 22/12/2018 18:45

Just Christmas dinner- probably around £100 for 10 of us. Was 173.something today at the super market but that includes extra bits for the rest of the week and I had already got a few bits put away

Littleraindrop15 · 22/12/2018 18:52

£140 for 6 of us and Includes a dish I need to make for boxing day to in laws and booze.

BrusselPout · 22/12/2018 19:00

*£283.49

That’s just for me and DP

We really like wine.*

^^ this, totally this!

Butterflysprinkles · 22/12/2018 19:02

£150

unexpectedgifts · 22/12/2018 19:10

£250 and I was thinking how well I'd done!

Feeding 8 (5 adults) for a week and 12 for two of the days.
