I was all ready to go this morning. Got the dc into the car in the pouring rain and then my car doesn't start. Have to wait on the mechanic coming now.

I've bought myself a chicken, stuffing and cranberry sandwich in case I feel like lunch later, mature Cheddar thins and lebkuchen stars for snacks. 🎅🎄

I've just had halloumi, eggs, a flat mushroom, a tomato, hash browns and toast, a banana and a coffee. 😋🍳🍌☕ I've got Mike Oldfield's In Dulci Jubilo (his Christmas tune) on. 🎅🎄

My aunt can only bring presents and the new coat she got DD the day we're going to the Tolkien Society's Yulemoot. Obviously, I'm not going to cancel, so she's going to come early. Really, people should know there's a lot on before Christmas, and maybe ask which weekend would be convenient. This weekend would have been fine. It's like with all the Christmas stuff at school.

Had to come outside for some air, someone in the office is eating a tuna sandwich and someone else a prawn one 🤢

This is my unofficial Christmas name, BlackBeltInChildWrangling started a name change competition. I'll probably keep it for the official one though.

I'm not keen on fruit cake, so not sure whether to try that. I want stollen bites, but Sainsbury's don't seem to be doing them this year.

I bought B&H midnight fig and pomegranate handwash yesterday. People on MN have told me before that B&H isn't very nice, does anyone know what this is like?

So far, tree is up and branches are fluffed out as much as possible (still don't actually like my tree though - would prefer a real one). Am just about to put on the lights (most hated job after fluffing up the tree branches), then baubles, then lights in other rooms (I have some vintage style snowman lights for the kitchen and some random red berry lights for the banister). Then ornaments, then hoover & clean before shower and going to dm's for a roast chicken dinner. Busy but enjoyable day!

We've been doing lots of Christmas craft, I haven't eaten all the chocolate and I have finished the shopping so things are looking pretty ok!

On the way to the midwife now, so haven’t had time to catch up yet.

Crazy - I really can’t stand the smell of fish at the best of times, it’s even worse being pregnant 🤢 I thought you had put shellfish instead of selfish and I was about to applaud you on the pun 😂 it still stank of fish when I went back in, honestly who eats fish in a confined space 🤢

Nero Crap to hear about the car :( I hope it gets fixed asap though that probably won't be of any help right now! My in-laws make a lot of stews and beef roasts, I don't really eat beef and over the years I've gotten less bothered about eating it, I just eat sides instead. No idea what sugar plums are, I just thought they're candied fruit and made to look like plums. mrsmad don't kill my dreams by saying they're almonds.

Philomena I wish I was going to the tolkein meet! I see them on the facebook group but can't make going to any :( I have that handwash, it smells okay but not very festive or as festive as I would have liked.

DS2 came into our bed last night as he had a bad dream and wouldn't settle, he spent the night lying horizontally and alternating between kicking or slapping us in the face. FWI, DH is wrong, toes going in your eye hurts more than a slap.

My aunt texted me this morning, one of their dogs had lung cancer (in a non-smoking household) and was PTS this morning. I've just told the DC, we're all a bit miserable. 😭
