Seafood I have 13 scarves to make, 11 are now finished in terms of knitting, 2 of those are completely finished but the other 9 need to have the ends sewn in. Of the 2 left on needles, at least they are both started (the one that will be finished last is probably the black one that was started 3rd!! Way back in March!!) and, thanks to another half hour in my office over lunch on the green one I started last week, both are at least half done. I'm hoping that 1 good night will see the sewing done. It's just to finish off the last 2 blasted ones (and no, I don't think I will get one for DH done this year - but he has had hats and scarves off me before).

The cake revolt was that I had made a Victoria sponge and a coffee cake - I was going to bring the coffee one to work, but those at home demanded they eat that and I bring the sponge to work instead. I was just surprised that both at home wanted coffee cake. And I backed down before it came to cake slices at dawn!! Grin

This thread is so busy at the moment, I can't keep up.
Everyone's trees are beautiful. Have you seen the tree thread? I love them all. Fingers crossed I'll be able to put mine up soon.

Also, some of you are so lucky with your time off over Christmas! Ours has to be fair so I only get a day off (excluding bank holidays). Although I can't moan, it's because we were away last year so I was off from 21st December until 9th January!

I hope everyone who feels a bit under the weather feels better. Hope everyone who is stressed get to relax and hope everyone is feeling festive!

Also, Acey I'm glad you're ok after scattering your dads ashes. It's so hard but such a nice thought to imagine that now he's free 💐

Howdy!
Just got home from the drs - the first thing he said to me was ‘wow you’re not wheezing, makes a change’ 😂
He felt so guilty for moving my appointment as turns out I have a terrible chest infection which is turning into bronchitis.
I’ve got pregnancy safe medicine to take, and he’s also prescribed me some pregnancy safe rescue medicine, so if I get another chest infection I can just take them instead of having to wait to see a dr.
I feel fine apart from the chesty cough and some wheezing!

Going to have chip shop for dinner then I’ll catch up Grin

Mrsmadevans · 03/12/2018 16:55

Acey that is such a relief , l thought you were not responding well to the medications, aw bless you never mind alls well that ends well great work! Enjoy the chippys! Xmas Grin

jackie2u · 03/12/2018 17:02

Just found these in an inherited Christmas bauble box but can’t figure out what they are. They are 10 in. long. Can anybody help please?

PhilomenaButterfly · 03/12/2018 17:33

Picked DS2 up, had lasagne and garlic pizza bread for supper. 😋

PhilomenaButterfly · 03/12/2018 17:41

DS2 will go to bed at 6.10, DD will go at 6.30 because she's got her reading booster tomorrow. 😴

NoWordForFluffy · 03/12/2018 17:51

Are those ends big enough for candles, Jackie?

Nice tree, Neros! I'm on a shorter than usual week this week as I'm off Weds plus my normal Friday. Then it's the hard slog to Christmas! What day are you doing the markets? It gets ridiculously busy. We've not been since having kids as I fear losing one of them!

Acey, good that you got sorted finally.

I'm glad you stayed dry, Mrs. I'll show you my wreath as long as it's not rubbish, ha ha!

Hi to everyone else. We're so busy now I can't keep up!

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 03/12/2018 18:15

MrsMad there's a wreath making course this Saturday in Hobbycraft. I wanted to book it but am busy. There may be spaces left?

Biddy you've inspired me to get a shift on with my second Christmas scarf - thank you Xmas Smile

I've just read back a bit. Wreck are you ok? You seemed very stressed this morning. Don't stress, stamps are a 2 minute job while you're doing something else (can you get them on a food shop as most supermarkets sell them)? Cards - write a couple when you get into bed / waiting for tea to cook - or get DH to do them (I haven't started mine yet, I have about 60 to write Xmas Shock so you're not alone)!

I drove home and saw so many decorated houses today - people have obviously been busy putting them up all weekend. I pass a house that I loved, it has a huge tree in the front and it has multicolour lights inside it, the old fashioned big full bulbs. It's been decorated like that every Christmas for years and detour passed it most days in the winter 🎄

AceyMac13 · 03/12/2018 18:24

Evening!
I’m so full it’s ridiculous Grin
Addie has been using me as a punch bag today, god love her Grin

Fluffy - we usually have to work until closing on my birthday (Christmas eve) so it’s a much welcome change this year Grin

Wreck - try not to panic, you’ll get there Smile

Biddy - you’re always so busy, I don’t know how you manage it. I’m in awe Smile

Nero - love the tree, it’s gorgeous! Aye it really is brilliant!

Sea - he really is hilarious, he’s a constant ray of laughter and sunshine Grin maverick definitely loves any cardboard box he can get his paws on. Thank you lovely Smile that’s hella cool that your name is similar Smile

Crazy - thank you lovely. I like to think of him soaring the skies, free as a bird as he was definitely a free spirit. When I took the lid off the ashes, loads of them came flying out (it wasn’t windy at that point) like he was breaking free Smile

Mrs - nothing to worry about at all, it certainly is grand news Grin I was worried I may not be responding to them too, but thankfully all is good Grin I’m glad you had a lovely walk and didn’t get soaked doing so Grin

Nipped into town before my drs appointment, it was lit up and so festive. I can’t wait to take Addie to the light switch on next year Grin

Hope everyone is having a lovely evening! I’m currently at paddy’s house, we enjoyed our chippy and will watch an Xmas movie soon. Though we just end up in fits of giggles no matter what we do Grin

PhilomenaButterfly · 03/12/2018 19:05

The yr6 lights were beautiful last year Mrs!

Yes, we all had a lovely time yesterday! We did everything we'd planned to do!

Seafoodeatit · 03/12/2018 19:15

Nero Beautiful tree, I love how bright it is.

philomena what kind of ice cream is that! how did that come in conversation? wouldn't breakfast be nicer in ice cream form? :P Your dinner redeems things though, that's a classic (and tasty) combination.

Also you haven't heard it yet so don't try to sing along Xmas Grin
Biddy Slices at dawn Grin Victoria sponge is my favourite cake so I am outraged at their response! It's a crazy amount of knitting, I hope the last 2 won't take too much longer to finish.

mrmad yay to enabling someone else to get some silk baubles! Enjoy your stir fry sounds yummy.

Acey Ouch! no wonder you've been feeling rough Flowers I hope all the medication helps you feel better. Very envious of your dinner! throw some chips my way pretty please.

jackie no idea, looks like a candle end or an end of a bauble, but why would you have a double bauble? (see how fast you can repeat that!)

crazy baubles like that is why we have mutlicoloured ones, for nostaligas sake but all the big colourful ones are way out of my budget so I've gone for regular multicolored ones. Holy Guacamole! 60!!?!?!! I have 15 if I round up!

NoWordForFluffy · 03/12/2018 19:22

Crazy, I walked past a veritable Santa's grotto of a front garden on my way home tonight!

My course is at Hobbycraft too!

Biddy, cake wars sound hilarious! Even if they're not! 😂

I'm home alone in the cosy lounge just waiting for the DC and DH to get home from DS' swimming. They'll be home to disturb my peace soon! 😂

Heston Blumenthal apparently does a bacon and egg ice cream Seafood. DS2 and I have decided that it would be truly disgusting. 😝

NerosFiddle · 03/12/2018 19:37

Fluffy market will have to be one Monday afternoon. We're only there for one night and then our flight is early afternoon on Tuesday. I don't know whether to take the double pram or the single and let DS walk with a harness on.
Ps your tree is lovely

Mrs it's not that I dislike chocolate but I go for more savoury foods. Although my craving with dd was full fat coke and mars bars. I had a coke yesterday and it brought back memories.

Thank you all for the tree love. Haven't put any baubles at the bottom so that tiny hands can't pull at them.

PhilomenaButterfly · 03/12/2018 19:41

Seafood you've got DD saying "double bauble" over and over again now! 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 03/12/2018 20:07

You should be safe(r) on a Monday, Neros! How good a walker is DC1? Is your double a side by side? Though, actually, I think I'd prefer small people as young as yours to he contained, so I'd take the double, especially as you're going during the week.

I'm quite fond of my tree too! Xmas Grin

OP posts:
NerosFiddle · 03/12/2018 22:01

It's a side by side and quite neat. I think you're right and go for the pram. Although DS is a confident enough walker, he is still only 2 and his wee legs will probably get tired of walking for a few hours.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/12/2018 22:17

Or you could take a carrier for the little one and then the single for the eldest?

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 03/12/2018 22:31

Almost done. Just got the stars to go. Then I need to finish the tree one and I'm done, bar ironing and framing!

OP posts:
WheelchairWoes · 03/12/2018 23:12

I'm going to attempt to catch up! So sorry I was away all day! We had appointments and it was hubby's day off so we got more Christmas lights up lol Finished the girls room and we should have everything back into place tomorrow lol

Happy 2nd Night of Chanukah! It's probably almost 11 pm there so a lot of you guys are probably asleep. Tomorrow I should be able to do better about being on here and chitter chatting haha

Acey She already does! Last night at 3 AM the oldest kid woke me up with a scream. I'm yelling what's wrong! And she goes 'Lilah is an evil shadow! She was on the back of the toilet!' haha

Also Holy SHITE woman! I knew something wasn't right when you said you were coughing so much. I get bronchitis almost every time I get sick so I'm sending you all the prayers that you recover soon.

Fiddle Chanukah doesn't have an official spelling so anyway actually works. Because it's a Hebrew word I think there are about 14 ways of spelling it in English and all are correct haha

Your tree is fantastic. It's very classic which I adore just as much as fun new ones.

Seafood Yes! Those are some of my cross stitch projects! They are up there with a 35 year old stitch my mom did that was my grandmas and another stitching that I got at the flea market. I think it's going to become my display area lol I've got a lot more I want to frame

Biddy Holy crap woman!! You are a knitting machine! Will you share photos with us?

Crazy My husband will probably only have off Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. He delivers food locally but he works so few hours and I can drive with him so it's ok.

My kids are off this week and Monday from school for Chanukah. I like homeschooling because we can do our own holidays lol

Mrs So now since I know Goldcliffe you need to tell me of Gilwern Railway! LOL photos?

We saw a train today. It's not as common in my area so my kid freaks out as she adores trains. She has like 5 electric ones haha

Jackie Those look like some candle baubles my mom had back in the day. Can I share your photo with her and ask?

PSB What kind of booster? My kids got their boosters and their flu jabs and my oldest is so so bad with them.

Fluffy Your house looks so lovely! I still have not found any Christmas throws or sheets. I'm utterly gutted because I really wanted them for my sofa.

Your stitching is just amazing. I'm in awe how quickly you do it too.

Here's photos of our menorahs (Called Chanukiahs also for some info for the day)

Also LOOK at this killer house I saw last night while on deliveries with my husband.

Sorry that I always seem to spam you all with pics hahaha. There's just so many lights and so many festive things going on in these parts.

21 days - that's 3 weeks folks.

I've got Wednesday to myself this week. There may be some tree decorating and wrapping happening.

Wreck I'm feel as if I'm running behind too. I did sit and write a few lists yesterday. A meal plan for the month, a shopping list for the Christmas food shop, a list of Christmas cards to write which then helped me work out how many stamps I need and a list of preparation tasks I need to do before Christmas Eve. I broke this down into little bits too - so rather than "wrap presents" I put "wrap DD1's presents" so I'll feel like I'm achieving something when I cross each task off.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/12/2018 06:16

Morning!

Only 10 days left in work for me due to my short weeks and tomorrow off! That's quite scary!

Woolly Flowers It must be hard to deal with Christmas on top of everything else. I hope you're bearing up.

Wheelie, sounds like a busy day!

I'd best get moving if I want to get out on time.

Morning!

Woke up late and I’m at work now, so haven’t had a chance to catch up yet. I hope everyone is well and has a lovely day.

I’m dying to get Addie’s nursery painted, so going to make a start on that after work. Once it’s painted then I can assemble her cot and Moses basket etc Grin

Be back later Grin
