God i’m So sorry, I’ve comoletely derailed this thread with my issues :( didn’t mean to bring this wonderful thread down!
I’m sat here writing Christmas lists which is keeping me busy Smile

AceyMac13 · 04/11/2018 11:09

I’ve got my brothers and my grandad with me thankfully, god I couldn’t get through this without them! It’s so weird as my grandad is in prime health and my dad is in terrible health!

FrangelicoCandyBoughs · 04/11/2018 11:10

Crazy I work part time at an old people’s home, it’s lovely and I’ve worked there for a while but it’s only for a little extra income it isn’t what I want to do. I’m leaving when this LO comes along so not got long left there.

Acey I hope he’s okay, you haven’t derailed the thread at all. Are you feeling any better?

AceyMac13 · 04/11/2018 11:14

Frangelcio - did I see you were due Xmas eve? That’s my birthday if you are Grin I feel much better thank you, although when I wake up in the morning I have a coughing fit for an hour or so from laying down!

NerosFiddle · 04/11/2018 11:15

Acey

NerosFiddle · 04/11/2018 11:16

That was supposed to be . Don't know why it didn't show up

FrangelicoCandyBoughs · 04/11/2018 11:25

Acey Yep due Christmas Eve!. I’m glad you’re feeling better, I know it isn’t nice when your parents are ill.

TheWoollybacksWife · 04/11/2018 11:32

Bless you Acey.

I need to find out if the garden centre near me does Christmas greenery. I don't really 'do' Facebook but I'm on it as part of the residents association and people are dropping heavy hints about spectacular Christmas decorations. My vibe is more Martha Stewart without the jail time than having lights that can be seen from space, so I will be aiming for some sort of greenery/baubles/lights combo where my hanging baskets are. We'll see...

CrazyBaubles · 04/11/2018 11:42

MrsMad I love the sound of your knit and Nat club. Would be good to be able to get pointers from people when I'm stuck with crochet as it must be better than googling it all the time (I don't know any other crocheters in RL).

Don't apologise Acey this thread is just a group of people having a chat. There are no rules saying it all must be about Christmas. I hope you get good news soon💐

Woolly my Christmas prep/ style sounds similar to yours.
I've just been to TK maxx and their decorations are lovely. Was tempted by a new wreath but the one I wanted was £££ and I couldn't justify it. I did buy a Christmas door mat from Aldi though!

NoWordForFluffy · 04/11/2018 11:52

Woolly, is there that small garden centre next door to you still? The one on the other side of BL beginning with B is meant to have an amazing Christmas selection. It's easy to get to for you too, as you're close to the road heading out that way.

I'm avoiding places which sell decorations as I really don't need more!

I'm starting buying tomorrow. DD wants a blue hoodie and black joggers, either Pokemon Moon if my aunt buys her a 3DS or a cuddly Mimikyu and an Eevee figure, DS2 wants Splatoon water pistol and a Spiderman Illumi-mate and some kind of dress up. 🎅

AceyMac13 · 04/11/2018 13:21

He’s being moved to intensive care unit shortly :(

FireflyGirl · 04/11/2018 13:50

Flowers Acey, we're thinking of him.

PSB have a look at reviews before you buy the Splatoon water gun. I bought DS the splat gun that shoots 'ink' in the Sainsburys sale and it was so badly made it didn't work and I took it back.

We had the loft boarded out last month and I went up today to sort out the Christmas presents. I can't find 3 of DS's big presents, or DN's main present. DH is in trouble...

WreckTangled · 04/11/2018 14:01

I just bought a Christmas top. Saw it advertised on Elsie's attic for £13.99 + £3.99 postage then found it on eBay for £5.25 delivered plus 5% TopCashback with a £3 bonus 👌🏼

Redgreencoverplant · 04/11/2018 14:34

I hope your dad's health improves soon Acey!

The red cabbage is in the slow cooker and the gravy is bubbling on the stove. Both will be put into pots and frozen ready for Christmas :)

PhilomenaButterfly · 04/11/2018 14:39

Thanks for the heads up Firefly! I'll see if he wants a Stretch monster instead.

FrangelicoCandyBoughs · 04/11/2018 14:45

Just put the roast in, we’ve got a butternut roast!. I’m feeling huge now and very uncomfortable so baking some biscuits with the DC to take my mind off it. DH is cleaning the house and then we’ll all settle down with a film later. Thinking of watching that Christopher Robin film. Still stuck on names for LO, we’re thinking Rosemary for a girl but nothing is our style for boys.

PhilomenaButterfly · 04/11/2018 15:37

Had chicken breasts in BBQ sauce with potato wedges for lunch. 😋🍗

WreckTangled · 04/11/2018 15:51

Grange it's pretty sad I wouldn't recommend it whilst pregnant!

WreckTangled · 04/11/2018 15:51

Frange not grange. Stupid autocorrect.

FrangelicoCandyBoughs · 04/11/2018 16:04

Wreck Oh no!, I’m emotional even when I’m not pregnant and it’s so much worse now. When the Queen walked in at Eugenie’s wedding I sobbed and I’m not a big fan of the monarchy!. I’ve promised DC we’ll watch it so I’m just gonna have to put on my big girl pants

NoWordForFluffy · 04/11/2018 16:21

I watched The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas at 8+ months' pregnant with DD. Huge mistake! 😭😭😭😭😭😂

PhilomenaButterfly · 04/11/2018 16:42

I don't need to be pregnant. Toy Story 3 makes me cry. Blush

TheWoollybacksWife · 04/11/2018 16:48

I cried all the way through the second Nanny McPhee film. We were at the cinema and I had taken a group of girls for DD2's birthday treat. They thought I was hilarious.

I hand to really control myself on Thursday at the Menin Gate. It was very moving and the sheer magnitude of the casualties takes your breath away. It didn't help that I had a nightmare that night - I dreamt DS had joined up and was off the fight at the Somme. His plan to be a geography teacher is fine by me.
