Thread 8 already; wonder how many we will get to before Christmas?!

I love the dark nights. I think it's so much cosier. That, and I hate hot weather. I just am not built for heat. I think that's why I like Christmas so much.

I don't like the darkness of winter, it's about the only bit I don't like! I get seasonal anxiety, I'm always very prone to it in winter so I'm always counting down the days till the clocks go forward and it's probably partly why I obsess over Christmas!

Didn't have time to post this morning had to be up the parents by 8 to get them both washed and dressed before the shower man came , Emptied the commode lol , it was not a big deal at all for me but l can imagine Dsis face in the morning
Fluffy DSIS is looking after the parents for Sunday and Monday lol the commode awaits lol ! Am loving those mince pies, They look absolutely gorgeous well done! Have a great evening out
l had one today at knit and nat , l do my mending and anyone else that wants some mending done. I am useless at crochet and knitting . The leader of the group always makes us mince pies in Nov and Dec and they are delicious , l knew as soon as l ate one that she used half lard / half butter because that is what we used to use years ago and it tasted like l remembered !! The pastry was melt in the mouth honestly the very best mince pie ever!
Seafood ahh bless you that seasonal anxiety sounds horrible sweetie you look after yourself m'dear , chilli was very nice last night too thank you Seafood the dish washer was sparkling after the vinegar/bicarb wash in fact it was so good l bought another bottle of white vinegar today just in case lol
Acey hope your Dad is feeling very much better my dear ahh bless you , my mum is on water tablets for her heart failure and they are working well thankfully so with luck he will soon be much better . Better shift must do the Voting for Strictly

DC are finally in bed, me and DH are downstairs having some leftover cake and working out baby names for this LO. I’ve had a week off work this week with th DC because school has finished and I go back on Monday and am dreading it!

Just in. We're going to have tea and go to bed once I've taken my painkillers and given them time to kick in. Not much sleep will be had tonight!

Neros & Fiddle I think I'm a little odd because I like all of winter - the darkness, the cold, everything. I obviously love it more when you start seeing Christmas lights and I dread the days warming up. I have the opposite of you Seafood, I get very anxious in hotter weather because I have some health issues which are more obvious and uncomfortable in the heat.

MrsMad I love the idea of a knit and nat group but have never found one I can make it to. Is it literally people sitting together sewing / crocheting / knitting and having a chat? Is it at someone's house?

Frangelico what job do you do? It's always hard to go back after having time off but I'm sure it'll be fine once you're there.

I'm just going to bed. I went out tonight and may have over indulged on cocktails so have come home and drunk squash with painkillers. Hate the tipsy feeling while you're waiting for everything to settle so you can sleep. Had a lovely night though with Simone I don't see often. Night all

Our local Knit and nat is in the local Methodist church hall. It is on the first Saturday in the month from 2 till 4 and yes it is lots of ppl of differing ages doing crafts and talking lol, it is lovely , they do have links with the church but only in so much as we collect clothes for the Syrian refugees in Newport and make the muffs for Dementia sufferers etc. It is fab l love it , l take Mum with me and sometimes my DD1 if she is home from Uni. Glad you had a great night out it will do you good m'dear

Morning! We went to fireworks last night and met friends there so that was nice.

Today is a lazy day I have a mountain of washing to do. Dd is being a stroppy teenager (despite only being 8 😁) and ds wants to stay in his pjs all day which is fine by me.

Have remembered some money I forgot we would have so have £230 to cover Christmas. Have told my sister not to by for my dc as I can't afford to buy for hers (plus both hers have birthdays before Christmas and she's just got a new girlfriend(!) who has kids who I can't afford to buy for) and she's happy with that.

I have to wait until December for that money though I think. Also ds' birthday at the end of the month and my brothers. Oh and my nephews but got his present yesterday. Poor dh won't have anything for his birthday (18th dec) or Christmas this year 😳

I have to get up at 5.25 every morning Mrs, because DS2 has to get up at 6.15 every morning to regulate his sleep pattern. No weekends or holidays off. I have to get up at 5.20 on Tuesdays, because DD has to get up at 6.10 for her reading booster.

Mrs knit and nat sounds very similar to sew and chat club at the DC's school. DD would have liked to do it, but it was the same afternoon as brass club.

Aaaaargh! DS2 and DD are playing boisterously, because from now until winding down time is when DS2 needs to, DH just stormed in and told them to put everything away, I said this is when he needs to be boisterous, they'll pick it up when they've finished, he said, "You don't tidy their room", I'd already said they'd pick it up when they'd finished, he and DD are just going to make DS2 worse. DH shouldn't be tidying their room anyway, he doesn't give them a chance to do it themselves.

DD and DS have been home from university this weekend which has been lovely.
Now it is November, I feel I can break cover with my Christmas prep!
Back to work tomorrow and as ever I haven't reached the end of my to do list. Plus I think my back has gone into spasm - if it doesn't improve soon I will go to the gp as I have spinal issues .
On the plus side next time i break up from school it will be the Friday before Christmas 

Shock horror! DH has said he might take some mince pies into work! It's only November, and he's as bah humbug as you can get before December!

The hospital just rang me - he’s not doing well at all so I’ve got to go in ASAP. Really worried :(

Currently trying to find a sandwich before I pass out and end up needing a bed here too!
They have said we will know more in a few hours, he is currently on a ventilator which is helping him breathe. They have told me he has sign a DNR which I understand but is still a shock to the system.
It’s a waiting game now unfortunately and I fear the worst!
