Acey, how did he get into the house?! I hope your heart rate is back to normal now!

Bed soon here. It's been a long weekend here. DS' behaviour was appalling yesterday. Thankfully he was loads better today!

Oh dear fluffy!

Acey your grandad sounds awesome. I have an awesome grandad too 😊

My dd has been really struggling recently. She's been bursting into tears randomly and then says she doesn't know why. She hasn't been eating properly and she's just generally down in the dumps 😔

Seafoodeatit · 11/11/2018 20:48

Loving all the photos, especially the kittys :)

fab bath bomb acey! they can't cope with you? charming, must be so hard with all the diddly squat they're doing! ignore their comments, sounds like they're being defensive about how little they're doing. I love your grandad, he sounds brilliant :) .

fluffy Looks great! you've definitely earned the Sunday roast :)

philomena sounds yummy, I love mushrooms! sadly it's about the only thing DH won't eat so I rarely get to have any.

Mrs Dsis and her husband sound like annoying so and so's! how annoying you weren't able to go the parade.

frangelico Sounds like a very busy day. Nutella on toast sounds good, might copy you this evening and make the same!

27 weeks today, can't remember if it's this week or next week that third tri starts but it's definitely getting harder to breathe and push the buggy around and up our hill with the 2 kids on.

Seafoodeatit · 11/11/2018 20:53

wreck I'm sorry to hear that :( how old is she ? could it be hormones? there are lots of little things to try and lift her mood if she's into crafty things like mayan worry dolls.

WreckTangled · 11/11/2018 20:56

She's 8.5 so I'm thinking hormones but she's quite an anxious child anyway (not that I ever say that in front of her). I just feel so sad for her and am dreading her move to secondary school in a few years where I feel things are going to get truly difficult for her like they did for me

FrangelicoCandyBoughs · 11/11/2018 20:59

Wreck how is she at school?, could anything be going on there that’s making her act like this. I hope she feels better soon, it must be horrible for you to see

WreckTangled · 11/11/2018 21:03

She's a high achiever but confident. She's got the main part in the play which she seems really happy about. It's a very small school and she will usually tell me if there's anything going on. She has said it's all fine.

WheelchairWoes · 11/11/2018 21:05

Can I join this thread? It seems a general discussion and chatty thread but also Christmas? My last week and a half has been crazy. On October 29 we adopted a new kitten. She's black and her name is Lilah. She came to us with an eye infection and underweight. She's been on eye meds and we are feeding her wet pate food three times a day and she's getting kitten milk to bulk her up. I'll attach a photo of Lilah. She's a very pretty girl.

I have been cleaning all day. I'm exhausted but I have two teenage daughters. Today I went by their room and guys I smelt something FOUL. I made them scrub through their room to find the smell. It was a hoard of smelly dirty socks under my 14 year old's bed. It was rank but we've got them in the wash and hopefully that's the end of that smell now.

Can I ask a silly question? I'm still new here but would like to reply to everyone like you guys do. How do you make it bold? Do you type @ and then the name?

Wreck I went through something similar when I was her age. Mine was separation anxiety from anxiety. Can you get her into a therapist or counselor to talk to? That helped me a lot as a child.

WreckTangled · 11/11/2018 21:12

Gorgeous cat!! You can bold by putting a star * either side of the work you want to bold but we aren't fussy.

I can't afford a counsellor unfortunately and CAMHS will only see children round here if they're suicidal and even then there's an 18 month wait 🙄

I actually work in a team of school nurses and health visitors (although am not one myself) so, unfortunately, know how little help there is.

I have a rescue cat too 😊

Welcome Wheelchair!

@Wheelchair will send an email to the person to say they've been mentioned, or just put a at either side to bold it: Wheelchair*.

Your kitten is so cute!

WheelchairWoes · 11/11/2018 21:18

wreck Man I feel you on those waits. My 14 year old (15 in January) is having issues and we have been wait listed for 15 months.

I'm sending your little girl all the hugs that's such a hard age too. Things are changing and hormones are starting. Does she know about square breathing? It at least might help if she's getting overwhelmed.

Your kitty is a doll. Lilah is our 5th lol I wasn't going to get another but she needed us the little love.

FrangelicoCandyBoughs · 11/11/2018 21:21

Welcome wheelchair

WheelchairWoes · 11/11/2018 21:21

Philomena Thank you! I'm not sure which way I like better yet but I'll give them both a go lol. And thank you for the comments on my kitty

NoWordForFluffy · 11/11/2018 21:30

Sorry about your DD, Wreck. I hope you can get to the bottom of things soon, bless her.

Hi Wheelchair! Your kitty is very cute.

I'm already in bed. Sleep very soon now.

I need to get a plan written of what's happening when, I think, as I'm going to forget something soon if I don't. We're getting so busy now in the run up to Christmas.

FireflyGirl · 11/11/2018 22:29

Are we sharing cat pictures? Here's the reason why my plants struggle to grow!

I have a bullet journal, Fluffy, and quite a bit of it is full of Christmas planning - lists and recipes Blush but it means I know what I've got, what I need to buy and I know what we're doing when!

Hello Wheelchair. I saw your thread about putting up your decorations already. Did make me giggle a bit when you dropped in halfway down the page that you're Jewish Grin.

Wreck there's a book which is supposed to be good for children around your DD's age who are struggling with worries. I'll look it up for you, but do remind me if I don't get back to you. Fingers crossed it's just hormones Flowers

Acey I'm glad to hear you've got some support now. Even if he did half scare you to death!

Waves at everyone else

Ooh, Aldi special buys on Thursday are Christmas themed. Think they've outdone themselves this year Grin Grin

Wonder if DH would notice this round the front door - he never notices when I spend 3 hours tidying and cleaning...

Morning!
Up bright and early today as still have a few things to do at my dads flat. I can’t believe it’s been a week since he passed away, it feels like the slowest and fastest week of my life all rolled into one!
Need to empty his freezer today and ring around to get someone to disconnect the cooker, plus finish packing the last few bits still left over.

Fluffy - he has a key for Emergencies, although he’s yet to grasp the emergency part Grin

seafood aye they can’t cope with me, I mean good god almighty I asked one of them to take something out the cupboard on Tuesday, god forbid! I must have stressed them out so much asking for such a huge favour Grin I love him too, not so much when he scares the bejesus out of me Grin I had to laugh when he spoke to someone in my family and said “aye take as long as you need, it must have been so stressful for you to book the holiday, pack your bags AND get on the plane, phew its exhausting just talking about it” Grin😂

Wreck he really is awesome and he’s the funniest man I’ve ever met Grin I hope your DD is okay, it must be so worrying for you. Your cat is gorgeous Grin

Welcome wheelchair - your kitten is gorgeous Grin

Firefly your cat is stunning, and looks a lot like my boy! Aye he certainly scared me half to death alright Grin I laughed so hard when you put about your DH not noticing the cleaning you do 😂 I say go for it, it’s lovely and subtle Grin

Sorry if I’ve missed anyone, baby brain combined with being in a rush Grin

Have a grand day everyone!

AceyMac13 · 12/11/2018 06:00

This is Logan / Logi Bogi, he likes to commandeer the driveway and stop anyone coming near the house Grin
He is very handsome, but his double swipe hurts like no other! Grin

Oh my god, maternity leggings are THE greatest thing ever: so comfortable!

Morning! I woke up at 5.30! 😆😆😆😆😆

Drinking coffee and watching Carol? Matt? Brew

PhilomenaButterfly · 12/11/2018 06:15

It's Carol! 😆

NoWordForFluffy · 12/11/2018 06:18

Morning!

That archway is amazing. Wonder if I could get away with it?! Xmas Grin

He almost caused an emergency, Acey! 😱

Oh, I wore maternity leggings forever. Not least because I was nigh on perma-pregnant for 2 years! I only lost the baby weight after child 2, so they were a godsend even after having DD (they're great for post-section).

PhilomenaButterfly · 12/11/2018 06:22

I wore either dresses or jeans, I wanted denim shorts but they were more expensive. Confused I spent a lot of that summer with sweaty legs! 😂

WreckTangled · 12/11/2018 07:02

Firefly thanks. We have what to do when you worry too much which she's read but she said it didn't help. She also had a panic attach back in the summer when we were out to dinner with my sister and bil. We'd been talking about the Russian poisoning and she suddenly panicked that her food was poisoned. She gets really worried about dying etc worries if she swallows toothpaste even though I say it doesn't matter.

WreckTangled · 12/11/2018 07:38

Wheelchair I looked up square breathing it sounds good. We usually do 'name 5 things you can see, 4 things you can hear, 3 things you can touch, 2 you can smell and 1 you can taste' which works quite well

BiddyPop · 12/11/2018 08:54

I wore a pair of yoga pants with a low and stretchy waist, and mat leggings, a lot!! The leggings were a relatively expensive pair - so thick material - that I could wear under my long jumpers (I "sacrificed" 2 of my normal black M&S polo necks - but they actually sprang back afterwards) and H&M mat tunic tops, to work as well as more casual. I had a long line mat cardigan (to just over my knees) and plenty of mat vests, but otherwise, managed with only 1 jacket and 2 smart trousers, 2 shirts and the rest were jumpers/plain tops, and accessorized with scarves etc for colour (I tend towards lots of black - although I'm getting better on colour nowadays). But I had to work in the formal office up until 38 weeks, in the depths of winter.

Am at my desk, coffee in hand, after a good hostelling weekend (17 of 21 came, and while 1 did decide at midnight he'd had enough and poor Dad had to come get him, even he had a great time and all the others actually did settle down - I think I got to bed at 2.30 and I only needed to be up by 7.15 to get back to the Den on time) and learning quite a lot on my 1st aid course. I even managed to get more than half my homework done for tonight - I should get it finished over dinner before my class. Df was in good form, although there were some "deep and meaningfuls" late last night - he's starting to get quite worried about a few things, but at least he's reassured that I was already thinking about those too.

Better get stuck in - there are a few different priorities to be juggled today...and a definite need for another night's proper sleep! DH better not wake me when he gets in (he had completely forgotten to tell me he had a meeting miles away tonight, so he won't be home until near midnight).
