MrsMad the roads were fine here when I drove home from work however there was a big accident during the awful rain we had ☹️

Woolly I would like some tips on inducing Christmas themed Stockholm syndrome please. DHs attitude to my Christmas excitement has barely altered in the many years we've been having festive arguments together

I'm just into bed after an evening out. Am slightly squiffy and very tired.

Redgreencoverplant · 10/11/2018 06:01

Thank you Mrs, it is Seasalt but I got it on eBay :)

Mrsmadevans · 10/11/2018 07:35

AceyMac13 · 10/11/2018 07:47

Morning!
Hope everyone is well Smile

I’m just about to make some breakfast then I need to get ready. Another busy day today. I need to nip to the shops and pick up a few bits and some food. Then I need to go to my dads flat, I need to sort through his freezer as it’s completely rammed full. Also got a gas man coming to my dads to safely disconnect the gas cooker ready for moving day Wednesday. My dad and I had a Saturday tradition of streaming the football from the UK, so I shall be carrying on that tradition today.

I don’t know what Addie is doing, but Jesus wept she is giving me some discomfort and jabbing pains 😂

Will catch up properly later, just wanted to check in!
Have a grand day everyone.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/11/2018 07:47

Morning!

DS woke up early again today. No idea what's got into him lately; he's doing my head up.

Dobbies later today, and possibly cake-making to christen the Kitchen Aid. I've just hung the washing out. There's signs of sunshine peeping through, so it will hopefully dry!

The funeral parlour rang me and said that they have a company who can put a tiny amount of his ashes into a pandora charm. I absolutely love that idea and I’m definitely doing it Smile

FireflyGirl · 10/11/2018 08:49

That sounds lovely, Acey.

Just a suggestion - you might want to get one to give to baby when she's older as well.

I fancy doing some baking today. I told Alexa to play Rat Pack, and they're mostly Christmas songs. Sorry DH - but how could I have known? Halo Grin So that's put me in a festive mood, which always makes me want to bake Cake

How is your head this morning, Crazy?

BiddyPop · 10/11/2018 08:59

Morning, first if the depatures has happened here this morning - DD is “admin” for the model UN that her school is hosting this weekend so DH has brought her there and is coming back via the garage for the car. I’m in the process of cooking rashers and part-baked rolls for my breakfast to give me energy for hillwalking. I need a shower, to get petrol and be at the meetup in uniform in about 90 minutes. Dh and DD are skipping sailing tomorrow to go see the latest new arrival (down the country so it will take all day). I’m bringing my knitting in case I get time tonight while the Cubs are settling down.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/11/2018 09:13

Morning y'all

I have no KitchenAid (I do have a Kenwood )

I have taken possession of a CrockPot Slow Cooker (in dark red) and it's brewing up a vegetarian chilli for later.

DD and I are off shopping ( quelle surprise ) and later to the Tower Hill Flames .
I saw the Poppy Display 4 years ago, it was awesome in a lump-in-the-throat way .

PhilomenaButterfly · 10/11/2018 09:24

Morning! I nearly had to be induced, but the pre-induction sweep set me off.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/11/2018 09:36

I've never made 2 lemon drizzle cakes and my Yorkshire pudding batter in the KA. It's A-MAY-ZING!

Went to the Sainsbury's café, DS2 had a bitesize breakfast, I had a cheese and tomato omelette. 😋🍳

WreckTangled · 10/11/2018 10:54

Morning! Had to go food shopping the long way round because the toad was flooded and picked up this tray/dish thing in home sense. I'm going to put chocolates on it nearer Christmas.

Also picked up the Buck's Fizz so thank you for recommending it 😁

I love the tray!

I'm sad that your toad is flooded. Will it recover?! 🐸😂 (Sorry!)

And I hope you like the Buck's Fizz once you drink it!

Currently on a bus to my dads, Addie is playing kickboxing with my ribs. Good god the pain!

WreckTangled · 10/11/2018 11:15

Oops 🤣🤣🤣 🐸

PhilomenaButterfly · 10/11/2018 11:16

Forgot to mention, in Sainsbury's they have gin advent calendars! How very MN! Gin

CrazyBaubles · 10/11/2018 11:28

Firefly my head is ok now thank you. I did wake up at 6:30 and felt awful but an extra 2 hours sleep, some paracetamol, water and a small fried breakfast (thanks DH) and I feel human.

Please post pics if you bake - I'm so jealous of those who can bake delicious things.

Wreck that road looks awful. Does it flood like that often near you?
I love your tray!

I missed that Bucks Fizz recommendation but I'll definitely be picking up a bottle or 2 of that, thanks Fluffy.
How have your cakes turned out?

Plan for today, as DH is out for the majority of it, is to spend an hour or so cleaning / tidying, get to the bottom of my laundry basket, some crochet and doing an audit of Christmas cards / wrapping paper / ribbons / presents and finishing the shopping online 🤞

WreckTangled · 10/11/2018 11:33

Crazy it does when we have heavy rain. Every. Single. Time. It's really annoying because to go round is an extra 8 miles.

I'm also trying to get to the bottom of the laundry basket. And the kitchen is a mess. I cook so dh loads the dishwasher etc yet he doesn't ever seem to take two minutes to wipe down the sides at the same time 😡 will have to remind him...

NerosFiddle · 10/11/2018 11:59

We went out to Homebase this morning in search of an artificial tree. Very nearly bought an 8ft "snow" covered one but changed my mind.
We then went to Cafe Nero and got their festive drinks for me and dh and DS had a babycino.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/11/2018 12:10

Lemon drizzle. We've started ours, the other is to take to work on Monday as I didn't do birthday cakes this week due to failing at getting / making any!
