Thought I'd start a thread, so anyone planning on buying it can post any offers they see. I'm holding out for Amazon Black Friday as they had it on offer last year.

I'm in two minds still, if I should get it for dd11. She is completely obsessed with Pokemon, particularly Eevee. She has a Nintendo 2DSXL already. I did tell her it was too expensive and maybe if I found an offer I could get it but she'd get nothing else, or I could get her a few 2DS games and other presents, and she chose the second option. I wouldn't really just get her the one present though. I'm thinking of getting it anyway, and a few other smaller presents. I could ask family to buy her the 2DS games she wants. It's just so expensive, compared to presents I usually buy... my budget is usually around £200-250 for main presents and £70 on stocking.

Fantasia friends say you need extra joy cons of more than 2 people want to play at the same time. Additional joy cons are on my wish list

Fantasisa · 19/11/2018 22:40

Gizlots, does that mean it is a good saving do you think? I am going round in circles. Confused

calpop · 20/11/2018 14:27

It comes with enough controllers for 2 peiple to play at the same time. If you want all 3 to play atvthe same time (not all games support this) you would need to buy an extra set of controllers which are around £55.

Any Switch Black Friday deals anyone has found? If anyone finds the Eevee edition Switch on sale please let me know.

Here hoping for deals! There was a couple yesterday and i didn't bite regretting it a bit now

Passthecake30 · 23/11/2018 07:16

Also looking for Black Friday deals especially as I need 2!

slappinthebass · 23/11/2018 10:31

Amazon still have the same deals on today. I've just gone for it and ordered the Eevee bundle at full price last night after Amazon didn't deliver the midnight deal I was holding out for. If anyone sees any bargain games please report back. Argos had some good deals on.

Smyths toys have some games on sale and worked out cheaper than Argos and amazon for the ones I wanted with free delivery too.

driggle · 23/11/2018 13:39

Did anyone buy it on the Very deal that gave you £50 back? I'm sure the small print said the £50 would be credited to the account on the 20th Nov, but I've not had it back.

incywincybitofa · 23/11/2018 17:30

Currys have bundles around the 299 price but the console only at 249 which with the other game offers on means it could be cheapest to buy Console only and then get a game elsewhere
Did anyone spot the instore price at Costco today?
They have a huge bundle on line great value because of what you get but pricey because you get so much

trixymalixy · 23/11/2018 18:13

I think we saw the best of the bundle deals in advance of Black Friday. I wonder about the possibility of something better on Cyber Monday.

Alakazam7 · 24/11/2018 07:43

I’m hoping so- I stupidly missed the offer I had found for games on Smyths- had something that I had to do so put off buying them and can’t get there this weekend or Monday!
Any news of similar online offers on games at all?

Gizlotsmum · 24/11/2018 07:59

There are some new offers on amazon today, 290 with a game

slappinthebass · 26/11/2018 17:56

So fellow Switch givers, how many games is everyone planning on giving with it? My dd's birthday is in June and she doesn't really get pocket money or new games outside of birthday and Christmas.

OP posts:
Gizlotsmum · 26/11/2018 18:14

We have 2 games in our bundle. I was considering maybe one more but they will also get Christmas money so can use that for particular games they want

Bumbumtaloo · 26/11/2018 18:15

We’ve only got 2 - Just Dance and MarioKart 8. We’ve decided those will be plenty what with their other presents.

NameChanger22 · 26/11/2018 18:15

I bought this last year. It's a good system, but DD hardly plays with it. It was a waste of money really, for us.

slappinthebass · 26/11/2018 19:05

Why don't you sell it @NameChanger22 ? I have no concerns my dd won't play with hers, she was born a gamer.

OP posts:
NameChanger22 · 26/11/2018 20:05

DD says she wouldn't mind selling it. I don't know how to sell on Ebay though, and it's too much faff by all accounts. Plus, she might get into it in the future.

buckeejit · 27/11/2018 07:39

We got Mario odyssey I think & could do with another game. Possibly Zelda? I've heard it's good. Not too keen to get fortnite but ds is 9 so not sure what else is good

Gizlotsmum · 27/11/2018 07:56

I’ve heard good things about splatoon 2

slappinthebass · 27/11/2018 09:31

I've got the console that comes with Let's Go Eevee, plus Yonder-the cloud catcher chronicles, because it looks nice and calming and apparently isn't time intensive, and boy does my dd need calming. I know she'd love Musynx as she has a similar app she loves but I can only find it for £40, and I'm considering Minecraft just to boost her choices with something less expensive, but she hasn't chewed my ears off about Minecraft for a good while so I wonder if she's gone off it. She doesn't have it at home, only her dads house. Zelda looks amazing but it's not something my dd has been into before, and it's so pricey I'm not sure about taking the risk. Might wait for her birthday for that.
