Been very busy at the parents, shopping , cleaning the house, cooking their meals, washing, changing beds , dressing the parents, been full on today . Poor DF said to me he feels he will never get better, l had to explain to him that he was 88 and as well as having CMML he is going to deteriorate slowly because that is what happens to us all when we are ageing and that it was worse for him because he had been so active and well for most of his life. He knows all this but l spelled it out to him today, l made him compare himself with other people his age and he could see that they were either already dead or very infirm. I felt so sorry for him bless him Sad
Came home and collapsed in front of fish & chips , FOOD courtesy of DH bless him . I am so lucky to have him .
Hope all enjoying your Sat evenings Xmas Grin

Mrsmadevans · 08/09/2018 20:51

Fluffy , 70....... we have seen conkers too ! Love the seasons changing .

Redgreencoverplant · 08/09/2018 20:53

Yes fluffy DS had a nap for the first time in ages today after he had an overtired meltdown in Clarks Grin

Heavystream · 08/09/2018 21:03

Arthur’s been napping a lot since starting school.

I’m watching love actually so am feeling very christmassy! Can’t wait until Christmas Eve, it’s my favourite thing about Christmas

FurForksSake · 08/09/2018 21:11

First week back and a horrid bug has swept school, I am sure it is tiredness that is making it worse. Be a week or two until they adjust and then the clocks will change :)

NoWordForFluffy · 08/09/2018 21:22

DS refused a nap. But was asleep by 6.30! Poor baby is only just 4, so he's properly wiped out.

TheWoollybacksWife · 08/09/2018 21:31

DS has been taking himself off to bed at night without being told. He is properly knackered. DH has had to wake him twice this week. He's out of the house before 7:30 and not home until 5. I think he'd happily have an afternoon nap if someone offered Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/09/2018 22:20

DD fell asleep at 7.30 last night (she's just started 6th form, more travel , more homework, Bless her . She's been larding about since mid June , it's a shock to her system )

DS was napping today , as a lanky teen does , but he was quaffing cider and being a Dirty Stop Out . Xmas Wink
He starts University in 2 weeks .

PhilomenaButterfly · 08/09/2018 23:56

We were sitting in a huge pub garden when you posted that Mrs!

My mum came round, went to Croxfest, went our separate ways on the C3 at Earls Court, got back at 11, all in bed. 😴

WreckTangled · 09/09/2018 07:11

We're going to chessington today. Not sure what to wear it's saying 21 with cloud/sun but it seems quite chilly Hmm

NoWordForFluffy · 09/09/2018 07:13

I can safely say that Christmas princessing will never cross my mind! 😂

Xmas Grin Princessing (on the Style&Beauty) is the countdown to prepare yourself . So 100 days till your summer holiday/ your wedding/being Maid of Honour , why not Christmas?

So you do lists ;ike
Weekly - paint my nails
Do pilates Mon/Wed/Sat
Book the leg wax and get the next 3 months booked
And on.

They become a habit , you add in the next one.

Could be a Household Princessing List though.

I have gone through my wardrobe
I'll go through my kitchen cupboard (the one where the pans lurk)

Combine Get Ahead/Princess/De-Clutter Xmas Grin

PhilomenaButterfly · 09/09/2018 09:13

I don't think I Princess. 😂

Mrsmadevans · 09/09/2018 09:20

Morning all Xmas Grin
Up to the parents this morning with the DDS , will sort them out for the day, then come home and watch the end of the North run.
DH taking DD1 to a car boot in Madeley if the rain keeps off Smile
Wreck have a lovely day in Chessington m'dear , hope the weather stays good for you .
PSB that sounds like you had a great day and evening Xmas Grin
I am not one for Princessing either tbh Fluffy , think more like dragging the body through a hedge backwards approach to Christmas is more me Xmas Grin
Have a great day everyone Grin

PhilomenaButterfly · 09/09/2018 09:27

I generally blearily pull on yesterday's clothes at silly o'clock when DS2 wakes up, the DC stay in pyjamas all day. Boxing day, life's back to normal, but we do walk through the park if the DC want to.

ConstantlyCooking · 09/09/2018 09:44

I want to try Christmas princessing this year. I plan to every year and make it to day 95!

Heavystream · 09/09/2018 10:56

Morning everyone!

Mrs I hope you have a lovely time with your parents, never heard of North run, will have a look at it. We love carboots here but there’s rarely any by us, so it would mean dragging DS’s out of bed at about 5 to get to one on time.
PSB sounds like you had a lovely day.
Wreck I know what you mean about the weather, it’s grey and looks as if it will rain here but on the weather app it says it’s sunny and 19 degrees! Hopefully you have a great day in chessington
70 I’ve never heard of Christmas princessing, I doubt I’d be able to keep that up.

Heavystream · 09/09/2018 11:05

Sunday is my clean day. I hate a dirty house (don’t mind mess though) so deep cleaning everything whilst DH and DS’s watch tv. Then DH is cooking nut loaf with roasted veg for tea. And we’re having homemade tomato soup with cheesy pull apart bread.

I’ve just changed all the bedding and now am leaving the mattresses to clean, then dusting everywhere. Will hoover before bed. Got zoflora in the washing up bowl to make the house smell a bit nicer and all the windows open upstairs to air everything out (can’t wait for spiders tonight). Then scrubbing the kitchen and bathrooms.

I grew up in a really dirty house and it always made me feel sick so my house is scrubbed much more than needed. But I love cleaning!.

FurForksSake · 09/09/2018 11:26

I think I might princess this year, I have marginally more time with gabe in preschool 9 hours a week. I've started using The Ordinary and I definitely feel my skin is looking better for it.

CrazyBaubles · 09/09/2018 11:29

Morning! Just finishing a late breakfast of bacon, scrambled egg and toast before starting a giant blitz of the house (its rented and we have an inspection booked next week) so Heavy it sounds as though we're having a similar day.

I'm not sure princessing is something I could keep up with. I very rarely remember to paint my nails never mind booking in tans / waxed etc. I think my nod to it is a new Christmas jumper for the run up and a nice new dress for Christmas Day each year.

I've been browsing cox and cox this morning - some of their wrapping paper is gorgeous (I've attached pics). I especially love the navy and copper but I already have wrapping paper bought last year and would never spend £12 on wrapping paper Xmas Shock
