Me neither Crazy, the less I spend on paper, the more I have to spend on presents!

Had chocolate pancakes and Incredibles 2 cereal for breakfast, chicken breasts in BBQ sauce with potato wedges for lunch. 😋🍫🍗

Redgreencoverplant · 09/09/2018 16:29

Toad in the hole is cooking and I have made a crumble for pudding. Such an autumn meal :)

NoWordForFluffy · 09/09/2018 16:55

I made Yorkshires to go with our roast. We're on crumble (apple and blackberry) part two later on. We've been eating it for a few weeks now, what with the glut of blackberries we've had!

Reading this has made me remember we haven't got anything in for tea. Bugger.

We've been non stop - have chopped down some brambles (now I've picked all the blackberries) and got rid of them, pressure washed the back patio, decluttered, tidied and cleaned the spare room, spruced up our bedroom, cleaned the bathroom, kitchen and dining room. Everywhere has been hoovered. Living room is fine but we have a front room we barely use and it's full of stuff (camping gear from DHs recent trip, stuff waiting to be sold / collected and just random stuff) so we've started on that took.
I'm aching all over!

Mrsmadevans · 09/09/2018 17:15

Evening everyone. I’ve made my first ever meal plan! I’m so excited!. Sound like a right bore but I feel like a proper adult now. I’ve even got in all typed up. I really want to show someone but DH isn’t that bothered (quite rightly).

Redgreencoverplant · 09/09/2018 17:39

Take a pic and show to us Heavy :)

Seafoodeatit · 09/09/2018 18:02

Fur I love love love that cake! I hope Wilf is feeling a better now.

redgreen those cookies look very tasty.

ChristmasPudding That's fab, I'm going to have to bookmark that website!

Wreck I'm sorry to hear it's been one of those days Cake

Mrsmad Sounds very busy, a fish and chips very well deserved. I feel for your DF, that must be very tough, I don't let myself think of all old age, my grandma in her final years was terrified of dying.

Everyone's lunches and dinner sound lovely, we're having a crumble too - DH is making it - apple and blackberry, I picked the berries when DS was at football practice this morning.

I love autumnal things too, the two youngest were dressed in chestnut patterned clothes today.

put in big so it'd get seen Xmas Grin , I'm planning on making some this year but have never made it before because unlike DH I only like the smell and not the taste Does anyone have a tried and tested recipe pretty please?

Mrsmadevans · 09/09/2018 18:25

Sea thank you my dear for understanding my sadness re my DF and his distress over his ageing bless him.
I have no recipe for you but l did source this link for you and it looks amazing Xmas Grin
www.goodhousekeeping.co.uk/christmas/christmas-recipes/gh-christmas-pudding-recipes#?slide=8
Have a look at them they are so inspiring me to make one too!

Mrsmadevans · 09/09/2018 18:27

Heavy l am another requesting a look at your meal plans , we are totally fed up here and never know what to cook . I think it is because we go up the parents most days and then just come home and crash Grin

Seafoodeatit · 09/09/2018 18:35

Mrsmad My grandma contributed to the profits of holland & barrat I'm pretty sure, she was forever buying more herbal supplements, she called them her important medicine.

Those recipes all look very tempting, I'll definitely print their stir up sunday guide.

Heavystream · 09/09/2018 19:06

We also never know what to cook, but since growing our own veg have got into homemade stuff. We’re vegetarian too so I like to make sure the kids are getting everything they need. I’ve gone on BBC good food and picked out a few recipes that I know how to make. DH and I both love cooking as well so it will be fun. Will send pics now, hopefully they work!

WreckTangled · 09/09/2018 19:15

And we're home! So tired. Could easily do two days there I think and as you can return the next day for £7 it would definitely be worth it. So tired and poor ds still has to write about the bloody class bear. He's going to do it in the morning though as he's exhausted.

Heavystream · 09/09/2018 19:16

Hopefully this works

Looks yummy, Heavy.

I did almost 3 hours' weeding at the allotment today. They grow so bloody quickly! Loads more to remove yet too, but that's a job for Friday, as well as planting more bulbs.

My potatoes are coming on nicely and my lettuce will be ready soon. I'll have pak Choi too, but I'm not sure what I'll do with that!

I'm sorry your DF is struggling, Mrs. It must be so hard getting old. 😢 It's not nice for anyone to think of what happens to us all, I hope you're all able to be there for each other.

I've gone through my Christmas magazines and have chosen what I'm going to be making / baking etc. I've chosen to do a chocolate / cherry pudding as I think it's only FiL who's keen on a traditional pudding. It looks amazing.

I've put in my first Sainsbury's ingredients order, spending £60 in Nectar points to pay for it! Thank god for the points is all I can say!

My parents and we have a penchant for H & B supplements Grin
I have Cod liver oil, DH has St johns wort , Glucosamine and Cod liver oil, DF has Vit C, probiotic yog drinks both for his immunity and he takes Cod liver oil . DM has Cannabis (hemp) capsules, garlic tablets for her cholesterol, probiotic yog drink, Glucosamine, Cod liver oil and a multiVitamin tablet Xmas Grin
PHEW! [GRIN]
Sea you are lucky your DH loves to cook too Smile
Mine is marvellous bless him he helps me so much with my DPS. He does their meals/ waters the plants /feeds the birds , while l get them both washed and dressed and do the bedrooms and sort the washing, then we do downstairs together. Thinking about it now l would be much longer doing all the work & caring if not for him but we are a partnership Smile come as a team Grin
That is so good for your DC to see you growing your own food and cooking it Flowers well done, you are showing them such a great example .

Mrsmadevans · 09/09/2018 19:45

Heavy l am most impressed that looks amazing and l think your not following the usual meat and two veg is just brilliant l can only applaud you and for working out things that work for you as a family. I love the sounds of the meal plans and the Cuddly egg men sound so sweet ! Xmas Grin love it! Also the Rainbow pancakes and the home made coco pops ! Xmas Grin
Fluffy thank you my dear , it is very hard for Dad because he has been so active all his life . He was a postman for 40 plus years and used to walk and drive all through the countryside delivering and talked to the farmers and villagers it was such a different way of life for him . He used to be given swedes, kidney beans, potatoes, cabbage and corn and picked Filbert nuts , blackberries and my favourite chestnuts . He has been active up until being ill and he is worsening and it is so hard for him to accept. My Mum is much worse physically than him and has always been very spoilt by us all and is very lazy Xmas Grin but she has a different outlook on life , more accepting and l think because of her being so spoilt she is much more willing to surrender her independence than he is . Getting old is not very nice but we all have to make the most of it , speaking the obvious l know ....le sigh Smile

Redgreencoverplant · 09/09/2018 19:46

My only question Heavy would be are the lunches enough?

Redgreencoverplant · 09/09/2018 19:47

All the food choices look delicious though!

Mrsmadevans · 09/09/2018 19:48

Mrsmadevans · 09/09/2018 19:50

www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2686668/cuddly-egg-men
If so then l take my hat off to you they look amazing !

Heavystream · 09/09/2018 19:51

That’s them Mrs, but DH is making them there’s no way I’d be able to do it!

Heavystream · 09/09/2018 19:53

Redgreen, we have bigger portions for the lunches and the boys will have smaller ones. But them on top of supper is more than enough for us. We also have a sandwich or cake at the cafe after picking Arthur up from school so we’re all very full, and we can have snacks if need be
