I believe it's day 190

HOW did we get past the 200 mark so fast? And only 12 Days until Christmas in July starts, for anyone who celebrates that.

😂 I get the same with my Aussie friend about cricket and rugger. They're useless at footie so she can't say a word! 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 28/06/2018 20:40

School summer fair tomorrow, so I've made lemon drizzle cake to take (one for them and one for us as DS would throw a strop if he didn't get cake; it's almost his favourite!). I quickly threw it together in 10 minutes before the kids went to bed and it was cooked by 8. Sorted!

I've got enough loganberries to make a small amount of jam, so I'll do that tomorrow. They're soaking in salty water which brings out any little bugs extra protein which are lurking within! I'll donate a jar to next door whose berries they are!

We are on curry tomorrow. Might make naan bread again too. It is rather nice when it's home made.

DS woke up and woke us. I'm now wide awake. Helpful! 💤

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 29/06/2018 06:13

Morning! Drinking coffee and watching BBC breakfast news and Carol the weather. 😋Brew

Our school summer fair's today too. I'm taking doughnuts for the "eat-a-doughnut-on-a-string-with-your-hands-behind-your-back-stall". 😂🍩

Mrsmadevans · 29/06/2018 08:52

Morning allSmile
Fluffy those cakes look gorgeous ! Well done ! Have a lovely School fair , we used to love them when the girls were small , think hoopla stalls, bric a brac stalls, Tombolas, raffles and tea and cake just lovely! Great tip about the salt water for the bugs thank you Smile.
PSB have a great time too your donut stall sounds great fun , there will be sugar in hair eyebrows lashes and all over the clothes lol Grin
We are off to the parents this morning and after sorting them out taking mum to the Dentist . Going to do them a salad and sarnies for their lunch and tea . Too hot for anything else tbh.
Have a lovely day everyone Smile

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 29/06/2018 10:42

Even better Mrs, they're chocolate! 😂🍩

Just had beans on a bagel. 😋

blacksmiths09 · 29/06/2018 16:49

Groan. I’d give anything for a few dark cool nights that you can sit watching a few Xmas films with a Christmassy candle going and some fairy lights to set the mood.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 29/06/2018 19:40

Got a call from school while I was in Sainsbury's, DS2 has chickenpox! 😢 Went home, put shopping away, picked DS2 up, left £10 in the office for DD, picked her up, she'd had a hot dog and an ice cream from the summer fair, she bought slime and a squishy, her teacher also gave her a squishy for DS2, she won baby clothes in the raffle which she gave her friend's mum who has a baby, DS2 and I had Thai red chicken curry for supper, DS2's in bed now. 😋🍦🍗😴

FireflyGirl · 29/06/2018 21:32

Oh no, your poor DS2, PSB. I hope he doesn't get it too badly. DS had it in February and still has the marks from his king spots!

Those days will be on us soon enough, blacksmiths.

Did you manage to get back to sleep, Fluffy? I'm like that - once I'm awake, I'm awake.

NoWordForFluffy · 29/06/2018 23:02

I hope it's only a mild dose, PSB. Just remember: NO ibuprofen.

Yes, amazingly I did get back to sleep. Unusual for me, but I'm grateful for it!

Mrsmadevans · 29/06/2018 23:19

Ahhh PSB your poor DS hope he is much better very soon.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 30/06/2018 03:38

Why no ibuprofen Fluffy? So far I've dabbed every spot in calamine lotion, the first ones have already crusted over, but more are appearing every second. He's very itchy.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 30/06/2018 03:39

Thanks for all your good wishes. 😆

NoWordForFluffy · 30/06/2018 06:17

Ibuprofen can cause the spots to go infected. Google it; it's hideous what it can do.

DS has joined us and is complaining that it's hot and sweaty. Hmmmm. Funny that, when an extra hot body joins us! 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 30/06/2018 06:18

Oops. Bold fail. Not away yet.

Redgreencoverplant · 30/06/2018 06:49

Oh no PSB hope he is better soon. I have read that calamine dries the spots out and makes them more itchy. People swear by something called PoxClin.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/06/2018 06:59

Oat baths and antihistamine help, apparently. Our two had such a mild dose that we didn't have to do much for them!

Mrsmadevans · 30/06/2018 07:49

Morning all Smile
We used Bicarbonate of soda baths to ease the itching for our 2 DDS, it was brilliant . l used about half a cup under the running tap , hope he is much better soon it must be a misery in this heat bless him Flowers.
We are off to parents to see to them, then coming home to watch the Argentina v France match , what a super day Hmm
Have a lovely day everyone Grin

SideOrderofSprouts · 30/06/2018 13:20

Hi all

Still not heard about job. Slowly going mad

Oat baths for chicken pox. I’m dreading babysprouts getting it

On the Christmas side it’s awful but I can’t even think about presents at the moment. Eldest sprouts has her clarinet exam, transition to secondary and last days at primary this month. Plus baby sprouts birthday. And I’m at a total loss on what to get them all!!

FireflyGirl · 30/06/2018 14:18

Sprouts did you know there's a vaccination for chicken pox now? You have to pay privately, though. We were planning to get it after the meningitis one but nature beat us to it!

NoWordForFluffy · 30/06/2018 14:40

I didn't bother re the chicken pox vaccine as I've read about it wearing off and it's way worse to get CP as an adult, so I've let nature take its course. We had both done with the meningitis jab though (DS just missed out on getting it on the NHS as they delayed its introduction, annoyingly!).

Redgreencoverplant · 30/06/2018 15:15

DS has had the chickenpox vaccine. The US has had it since 1995 and they found it starting to wear off so they introduced an extra dose which seems to be working. Will just keep an eye on what happens over there and get a booster for DS if needed :)

SideOrderofSprouts · 30/06/2018 17:42

The older two already had it. I’m justhoping he gets his when I’m off work!

Stupid temperatures here. Roll on autumn

blacksmiths09 · 30/06/2018 18:00

Roll on winter you mean
