I believe it's day 190

HOW did we get past the 200 mark so fast? And only 12 Days until Christmas in July starts, for anyone who celebrates that.

It was Firefly! 😋

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 25/06/2018 18:39

DS2 will go to bed at 7.30. 😴

NoWordForFluffy · 25/06/2018 20:47

I've just made more bloody jam. It's like sodding Groundhog Day round here! 🍓🍓

Next door's loganberries are ripening, so we'll pick the ones on our side and make jam with those on Thurs night, probably.

Redgreencoverplant · 25/06/2018 21:04

Thanks all :)

You must have enough jam now fluffy to last until Christmas 2050!

DH is away until late Wednesday so just waiting for DS to fall asleep before I hit bed. He has gone quiet so I am hopeful!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 25/06/2018 21:08

DD will go to bed at 9.20. 😴

NoWordForFluffy · 25/06/2018 21:36

I’m palming it off on everyone, Red! Can’t fill the fridge with just jam. I still have some blackberry and apple jam from last year and we will soon be back into blackberry season again!

Luckily DD loves strawberry jam. Good job really.

Mrsmadevans · 25/06/2018 23:05

Evening all Smile
I have been so busy l can't tell you!
Firstly DD rang re the exam to say that the worst subject (induction) for her came up. She had to talk about it for 15 mins and then perform the skill for 5 mins. She was on her own with 2 examiners. She told me all about it and l think she has passed so that is a huge relief !
Thank you for the good wishes for her i appreciate it very much.
We have bought a Car too today! We ended up getting a Hyundai Tucson afterwards , will put pic on . So have been busy sorting out the insurance. The tax will be done on July 1st [thank you Fluffy] when we pick it up and l have done the insurance for it tonight too. So we have been busy!
Also cleaned DD1 bedroom and changed her bedding ready for her to come back home next Tuesday for a week ! Yay... this is an unexpected bonus visit before she is away for 6 weeks for placement .
PSB l also did 4 loads of washing and drying it was like a Chinese laundry here Grin.
In between the walk, the cleaning, the washing and going to look at the car my poor DD2 was serving a regular customer and he collapsed right in front of her. She called for help and they worked on him for 5 mins before the paramedics came then they whisked him off to hospital. She thinks he has died though bless her and him, poor man , he was only in his late forties. Such a shock. The manager called for us to go and fetch her because she was so upset but when we got there she was back to work and vowed to stay there , l felt so torn to see her with her tear stained face . I said to her when she came home, he wouldn't have known anything about it, he was talking to her as normal and buying his scratch cards as he always did. I said she was the last person to talk to him and how good it was that she was so kind and nice to him .She is a lovely kid, we are so fortunate. I feel so sorry for the family of the man, such a terrible shock.
She came with us to decide on the car l wanted to keep her occupied to help her . She has gone out with her best friend tonight , she will be fine l am sure.
You must all think l am a fantacist with all this stuff with the parents and the DDS Grin
Anyway that was my day!!!
Night everyone sweet dreams Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 26/06/2018 07:06

Argghhh. Long post lost as the stupid site was jumping round and playing up. 😡😡

Your poor DD, Mrs. She sounds like she did so well, bless her. Just let her know you're there to talk to about it and she will find it more manageable in time. (I came across an horrific scene outside my parents house - cyclist + lorry - when I was 8 or 9 and while I'll never forget it, I'm OK about it now. My mum only realised quite recently how much I'd seen as they chose not to talk about it with me. As has been my entire life really!)

And I'm sure your other DD did amazingly in her exam. 😁

Glad to have helped re the car tax too. Every little helps!

Woolly, I hope your DS is better today so you don't have to suffer Dan Tedium again! 😆

I'm so glad I don't work on Fridays now in this weather. Means I get 3 days a week outside of the cave and being able to enjoy it! ☀️☀️☀️

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 26/06/2018 08:14

Morning! Carol the weather looks resplendent in yellow this morning Mrs. 😆

Had Disney Cars cereal. 😋🚗🚘

NoWordForFluffy · 26/06/2018 08:15

That sounds sugary, PSB! 🙈😂

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 26/06/2018 08:19

Probably, but it's one meal a day, and better than DD not eating breakfast at all! 😆

NoWordForFluffy · 26/06/2018 08:27

I've never heard of it!

Our two drive me mad at breakfast as they shun porridge and Weetabix (own-brand version!) despite loving them as young toddlers. They'll only eat toast, or DS sometimes has dry Rice Krispies / low sugar Cheerios. It's infuriating!

NoWordForFluffy · 26/06/2018 08:38

Ah, it's a bit like Cheerios, I think, looking at it. Definitely better than nothing though. Fed is always best, at whatever age!

Mrsmadevans · 26/06/2018 08:49

Morning everyone Smile
Thank you Fluffy, your message this morning reassured me , My DD2 will be fine . What about you, seeing that accident when you were 8 years old , ahhh bless you , such a leveller for our ordinary workaday life. You did so well to cope with that at such a tender age Flowers Halo Star.
She slept ok she was so tired love her .
Woolly l so hope your DS is much better today my dear Flowers
Red, l am sorry you didn't get the job you wanted Flowers my dear.... next time!
Biddy, l can't even think about looking after cubs you deserve a big fat medal as big as a dinner plate Flowers
Right, better shift , shopping for parents first ,then up to parents to sort them both out for the day, prepare their lunch and tea and then take mum for physio at 3pm so another busy day. May squeeze a walk in early if we can .
PSB just watching Charlie in Salford Quays with the puppies , he is so happy there , (he is normally a tad cynical l think) but he is a different person with them l hope you saw him Grin, Carol the weather has THE outfit on today , l love this dress and cardi combo on her Grin
Have a wonderful day everyone enjoy this beautiful weather !
Grin

BiddyPop · 26/06/2018 11:37

Morning all!

MrsMad, that's a lovely looking new car you bought!! I love a red car Xmas Grin so in keeping with our festive vibe!

Woolly Dan Tedium Grin I'm just grateful DD never found that! Minecraft on its own is bad enough (he is a Minecraft guru isn't he?)

PSB that does sound very sugary, but you're right, getting DCs to eat something in the mornings is better than nothing.

Fluffy Envy at the Fridays off - well probably more like Angry due to the heat (red faced, not actually angry!). We don't have enough fruit to make jam anymore since we gave up the plot - that would be nice. We get tiny handfuls of strawb's from a windowbox instead, just enough to have 1, maybe 2 each on occasion.

Today, I have sorted most of the Cubs paperwork for the summer break, still have a couple of bills to pay after camp and 1 bag of lost property to reunite with a parent. 1 job urgently needs doing for the school committee, and talk to another committee member to persuade them to do something next year before the end of this week - but otherwise the rest of the paperwork can slide for another few weeks.

Mostly, I am doing paperwork for Visas to China for our holidays (DD is competing there). And I will be making scones tonight to use up some of the leftover milk from camp (10 litres!! And it's way too hot to do a rice pudding). DD graduates tomorrow, so getting very excited. We had to grab a photo of her last proper day in primary this morning - she was hiding behind her bag to avoid it but DH was quicker than her Grin.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 26/06/2018 11:52

Biddy DD was shockingly organised on her trip to Butlins, they were supposed to spend Friday morning packing, she'd packed it all on Thursday night except her wash bag! She takes after me! 😂 I take it your Cubs aren't so organised?

BiddyPop · 26/06/2018 12:14

Um, well, I have no idea how organized they were at home, but the Cub who left behind her FULL uniform and a pair of runners (in 2 separate spots!), had been holding her uniform in her hand about 10 minutes before she actually left. And we found it 15 minutes after the car she travelled in had departed......Hmm

And 1 Cub wore the same tshirt from Friday until after breakfast on Sunday (we had finally got the semi-official "activity tshirts" for the group, which we handed out on Saturday to most of them, and we insisted on them wearing on Sunday for an investiture ceremony as it was way too warm for the navy jumpers which is the official uniform).

Although, it is improving. And I must admit that DD is a lot better at organizing herself normally now after 3 years as a Cub and a half year as a Scout. In fact, she has organized ME on a few occasions this year, reminding me of things I need to do/bring, and making suggestions about how to do a few things when DH and I have been talking about stuff at home. Saved my Blush at least twice! [GRIN]

It's good to hear that your DD was organized though. Did she enjoy the trip? I saw she had left but missed the return.

Evening all Smile
Mum had her physio and did really well , her legs are looking much better too. DD2 has gone to see her friend for the day and to go shopping and have a naice meal out so that will do her the world of good. Dad is fine too, so all is well in camp!
Biddy l am so pleased you like the car and yes she does fit in with the festive thread ...love it!! You are so busy doing stuff for your hols and your job and your family and everything else!!! Btw it is never too hot for rice pud , it is my fave Grin
We are going to watch Croatia v Iceland at 7pm and have a naice corned beef salad, we don't usually eat corn beef but DH fancied it lol! Grin
Have a lovely evening everyone it is so hot l am melting lol Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 26/06/2018 17:41

Definitely toasty here. Thankfully it's a touch breezier than lunch time when I cooked on my walk, but when it drops it's like being in an oven!

Just finished my second long day at work; back to 5pm finish tomorrow. I need to start getting ahead of myself for when I'm off in a few weeks' time. I'll a for a day ahead for a week, then two days, then four. I don't have things in the diary for Friday's anymore, so hopefully it'll work well (until chaos descends somehow!).

Corned beef salad sounds good actually, Mrs. Retro!

NoWordForFluffy · 26/06/2018 17:45

Ooh. Forgot what I meant to attach!

Bit warm on Costa del Liverpool!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 26/06/2018 17:55

Met my mum in the Sainsbury's café, she had Mediterranean vegetable lasagne, I had Thai green chicken curry, she went to see DS1, picked the DC up, had chicken hotpot for supper. 😋🍆🍅🍗🍗

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 26/06/2018 18:11

I just asked her Biddy, she nodded! #proudmum

Mrsmadevans · 26/06/2018 19:48

Fluffy ...twas delicious l have forgotten how tasty it was we will definitely be having it again ! Grin
It is boiling here .l made a cup of tea about half an hour ago and l might try it out now ....no still too warm! am not averse to a cold cuppa lol
Hope you are having a great evening everyone Smile

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 26/06/2018 19:51

DS2 will go to bed at 8. 😴
