ahhh was getting cocky with the Christmas emojis that will teach me Xmas Grin

FireflyGirl · 03/01/2018 18:28

You’ve got a face like when Wonder Woman gets a baddie

I just snorted in the dentist's waiting room. I just left them to it - has it gotten more heated since lunchtime?

Also hoping your dad passed the wine back over, Help. Waste not, want not. And next year you know to just get him a bottle of Gordon's!

Mrsmadevans · 03/01/2018 18:35

No Firefly it has died a death lol I think the general niceness of the 'Christmas People' has beaten them to a pulp mwahahaha

WreckTangled · 03/01/2018 19:28

I have to go to work tomorrow. Boo.

SideOrderofSprouts · 03/01/2018 19:39

I went back to work today

I think I was the only person happy to be there πŸ˜‚

Slacker, Wreck! Xmas Grin My head is battered after two days back at work. So bloody busy!

Thankfully (for me, not him!) a Barrister I’ve instructed who was meant to do a telephone conference for me today has tonsillitis, so I could concentrate on my other work. Hopefully I’ll be up-to-date once he’s better next week!

WreckTangled · 03/01/2018 19:44

Fluffy I've had two weeks off, it's going to be hard getting ready in the morning. Luckily only five weeks until half term Wink

NoWordForFluffy · 03/01/2018 19:45

It’s alright for some! I’m next off properly at Easter.

TheWoollybacksWife · 03/01/2018 19:50

Strolls nonchalantly through the thread NOT mentioning that she only works two half days a week. In term time. Grin

Firefly πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Everyone has β€œtriggers” and obviously my number 1 is if anyone were to insult or attack my kids, but I have found out today that people criticising the Xmas threads and the way we do choose to do things isn’t that far behind 😬

(Wanders off wondering if username I AM WONDERWOMAN is taken) 😍😍😍

ChristmasAddict · 03/01/2018 20:02

I also saw the offending thread Angry

Just taken the decs down, had forgotten how much space it frees up Grin

FireflyGirl · 03/01/2018 20:31

Don't they know we are the embodiment of Christmas spirit and Goodwill?!?

Although, I don't think you would be considered an unbiased participant, Christmas Addict...

I'm not too bad at work, actually. Most of my opponents must have also had the whole of Christmas off. And I got an offer in to settle a case which is a pain in the backside and I would love to get rid of. So, that cheered up my January no end!

I'll be starting to take the decorations down tomorrow during DS's nap, and will finish it at the weekend. Think we'll miss the fairy lights, but I'm looking forward to having my living room back to normal (I had to rearrange the furniture to protect the Christmas tree from DS!)

ChristmasAddict · 03/01/2018 20:50

Ha firefly very true! Had better change my username as I imagine it will annoy people on any board other than here now that Christmas is almost over Xmas Grin

AlmostChristmas · 03/01/2018 22:17

Me too Addict but hey I love Christmas!

Admittedly I've had enough of this one so give me a couple of da..weeks and I be in the mood!

What ya say Santa baby πŸ˜‰

NoWordForFluffy · 03/01/2018 22:48

I settled 2 yesterday, Firefly, which is a good start to the year. I haven't got any really hideous files, at the moment. That'll possible change soon though!

NoWordForFluffy · 04/01/2018 07:03

Knackered today. Slept loads last night trying to clear a headache. It's still lurking, however, so I'll take painkillers now.

Thursday though. Whoop!

And Woolly, that's what you call part time!

TheWoollybacksWife · 04/01/2018 09:29

I didn't pitch into that AIBU as everyone else seemed to be handling it so well. I would have asked if they would've made the same comment on other boards.

At least the difference between preparing for Christmas on the Christmas board and preparing for the zombie apocalypse on the the preppers board is that we can guarantee that Christmas will happen. Unless the zombie apocalypse happens first, obviously. Grin

FireflyGirl · 04/01/2018 11:29

I reckon zombie us-es would still be planning Zombie Christmas.

'The brains are marinating. Will the intestines fit in the small roasting tray, or do I need to get a new one?

The local farm is out for the tree; he tried to shoot me in the head when I called round last week. What will the neighbours think if we have to get a fake one?? And I hope the electricity is sorted by then, otherwise how will we turn the lights on. We can't use candles - the DC might catch fire. Again.

Uncle Fred is sorted, but what to get Aunt Margaret... Hmm, she has lost a lot of flesh this year. Maybe some new rags?'
Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 04/01/2018 12:09

That's brilliant, Firefly. You're wasted as a lawyer!

AnotherShirtRuined · 04/01/2018 18:31

There's a preppers' board?! Shock

Do you think they might have some ideas about general preparedness that might be adapted to Christmas? Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 04/01/2018 18:42

I'm not sure Shirt. They discuss using dehydrators for stockpiling emergency rations when we would use them to dry orange slices for festive pot purri and I suspect that buying the Yankee Candle advent calendar does not count as building up a store of emergency lighting.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/01/2018 18:44

Why is the short working week after a bank holiday always the looonngest

AnotherShirtRuined · 04/01/2018 18:56

Just had a quick perusal of the preppers thread list. Nothing stood out as particularly useful Christmas-wise. Perhaps I should start an AIBU about that...

AnotherShirtRuined · 04/01/2018 18:57

Oh, forgot the Grin at the end there

Mrsmadevans · 04/01/2018 19:12

Just come home from my trip to IKEA , before you get excited there was nowt left for me to buy that l wanted. However I did get my crackers for this year ahem and couldn't resist some kitten cards and a xmas tree and star cookie cutter from Asda. All were 75% off yay! I resisted another king sized Christmas duvet cover so I was quite strict with myself lol. I went into the card factory too. It seems there is 75% off all Christmas stock but hubbs was waiting for me and spoilt my mojo. I hate it when they are waiting in the car for us lol. I said to the shop assistant 'I'll be back' mwhahaha . Hope all well and everything is ticking along nicely. Can't believe how quickly time is passing us by ! Xmas Shock Xmas Grin
