No resolution here.

Mrsmadevans · 31/12/2017 09:33

I think that is a great idea to buy panto tickets and it is another difficult present out of the way too. I think I will have to look at doing something like this too. The wind has been terrific here and raining, am going to have a good walk and view the river again it must be swollen with all this rain. Perhaps I will see an otter again? Will get my phone out ready this time lol. Hope all are ok and Wilf is miles better Fridge. Take care everyone. We are not doing anything for the new year but will watch the fireworks , no resolutions either lol!

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 31/12/2017 09:45

I don't do resolutions either.

We all detest panto, so don't go! If the kids ask to go later we will draw straws as to who gets to suffer it with them! Xmas Grin

It's a cracking drying day here today. I've 2 loads out and another in the machine! It's meant to rain before we head out (Pizza Express dinner at 5), but it'll all be dry by then. Hurrah for the coastal breeze!

FridgeCut · 31/12/2017 10:04

We buy theatre vouchers for two sets of grandparents and garden centre for the otter. They appreciate it.

I have goals not resolutions, try to picture the year in review and look at what I want to achieve. I want to have had successful hip surgery, settle gabe into preschool (Halloween time) and be thinner, healthier and more financially settled than now.

AceyMcLaughlin · 31/12/2017 10:08

My only resolution is going to be not letting my anxiety and PTSD control my life, 6 months ago I was an anxious wreck that couldn’t leave the house, but since October I have been so much better, been going round shops etc, I am in control and I refuse to be constantly anxious / miserable! Our bin collection was cancelled due to adverse weather and it being unsafe, so hubby and I went to the tip when it opened, it was so busy! DD & DS said that this was their best Christmas ever as mummy was at home and not working, now I own my own business I work from home a lot when I can and no more being on call over Christmas! I’ve started my lists for next year and will start my savings from Thursday! So excited! No plans for tonight as we don’t drink so just a lovely chilled night with the kids!

WheresTheBaileysCoffee · 31/12/2017 10:10

No resolutions as such, but I do need to focus more on eating healthily..even when I'm stressed. It's been a tough year and I've been comfort eating a lot. I've been trying to break that habit for a while, so it's more a continuation of something I'm already doing!

AnotherShirtRuined · 31/12/2017 11:21

I have goals but no resolutions as such. I would like to get over my stress and try to find a better work/life balance so as not to end up it this situation again. Healthy eating and the like will be the first stop as that seems to have a proven effect. Planning for a fantastic Christmas 2018 will be my reward.

tiddledpink · 31/12/2017 13:46

Sane here re resolutions. No resolutions as such but I do have goals that I want to achieve; I find it better to aim toward something than stick to something I set in the past.

Goal 1; get the kitchen redecorated as a lot of the units are broken and I need a new oven.

Goal 2; clear a 3rd of the household debt. We're in a much more stable position than we were a few years ago and by chipping away slowly we'll still manage to save and fix things when we need to.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 31/12/2017 14:00

Resoloutions?
Hmmmmm

I will do a month of No Sweets or Chocolate (only a month though. I did it for StopTober - October- so I know I can but I don't want it to be forever )

I don't drink/smoke/eat meat, fish, chicken (by choice) and my blardy intestines dictate what I can eat so I'm loathe to give up anything really.
I do like my coffee though, big cup with soya milk, that Stays Xmas Grin

I quite like January , not a cosy month or a spendy month after December and if I stay out of the sales (which are frankly shit) then I will get lots done.

I have 2 weeks booked off in Feb (I don't like Feb as a month) so I can berate my DC into studying ( GCSE and A Levels going on) then maybe go to see DParents.

I'm going to curb clothes spending too, I keep a diary (started in 2017) its quite enlightening

Mrsmadevans · 31/12/2017 19:23

I want to do a diary too I must fish out the diary I bought from Smiths. Went for a long walk today along the river, saw Cormorants, Herons loads of ducks and randomly a white goose, no otter though we spoke to a man with a dog who told us about the otter too ! River was up a bit and flowing very fast , we are so lucky to have this on our doorstep never had the time to enjoy it before .DD2 has gone to Cardiff to celebrate NYE oh the foolishness of Youth lol. Happy New Year to everyone, take care and enjoy it !

Happy new year!

FireflyGirl · 01/01/2018 18:57

Happy New Year everyone.

No resolutions, but definitely have goals and plans for the year! Here's to a great 2018 Grin

I'm not planning to host this year, but the sprouts are on just in case

FridgeCut · 01/01/2018 19:55

Wilf is better, my parents came to lunch and we exchanged presents but he was quite tearful and tired at times. Thank you for asking, it has been a worrying time. When he passed out on Saturday evening I thought things were going to get hairy, but thankful that was the last of it.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/01/2018 19:57

Oh poor sausage. Glad he's on the mend!

I'm busy arguing about sodding removal of Christmas trees on AIBU. I'm being driven to utter distraction by it all! Xmas Angry

WreckTangled · 01/01/2018 20:04

Oh no fluffy I haven't seen that!
