TBH I feel quite glad it’s down now. Christmas is over for this year (we don’t bother so much with New Years) and I’m not looking forward to getting the kids back to school and routine

I am very much counting down to next year, Wilf was ill last week, then Gabe took over from friday to christmas day and then Wilf started boxing day. We are cancelling things left, right and centre. Was supposed to be panto tomorrow :(

Oh Fridge that sounds pants. When my DD1 was little she could be guaranteed to get sick at Christmas and any time we went on holiday. She grew out of it thankfully but for a long time the first thing I packed was a bottle of calpol.

We've had a lovely family Christmas party today. I'm planning on leaving my decs up until 12th night but might have to bring them down sooner as I think the estate agent wants to come back and take more photos and I still haven't found all the clutter I hid last time

Woolly the party sounds lovely party great idea to get rid of excess food lightbulb moment we leave decs up till 12th night too, there is always without fail the usual argument about when 12th night is lol. l say it is the 5th of Jan which is 12th night but others say it is after 12th night so the 6th?

Sprout..... SEWales seems very settled weather wise so far so good, l like windy weather though from the inside of my warm front room lol. Take care.

Wet and windy here. Had some cracking thunder earlier. Made us all jump! Fingers crossed the power stays on.

I'm taking the rest of the decorations down today (tree is gone already) and doing some New Year sparkly things ( mainly those LED candles in jars type decorations)

DH has ManFlu at the moment. (And we all know how serious that is)

DD and I are escaping off (in the pi**ing rain) to the shops for a nosey, not sales stuff, just a wander. I need to get clothes for DS .

Planning NYE party (well DD is , its her friends coming over) need to tidy, clean bathroom and sort food .

I take decorations down at new year as I like them down before returning to work. We aren't overly religious so 12th night doesn't bear any significance to us.

We've decided to keep our tree up till New Years day, this is new for us..it's usually boxed up again by now.
fridge that sounds horrible, I hope everyone starts to feel better soon.
DS has a console in his bedroom for the first time ever and a friend has come round, I've not seen them all morning. It's a sign of things to come I suppose, but the house seems so quiet now!

It's weird, isn't it, Baileys? We're yet to get there, but I know my sister found the transition to her DC being in their rooms all the time really strange!

The irony isn't lost on me that I've spent the last ten years craving a bit of quiet Fluffy!

I know that feeling! (3 and 4 year olds here!)

Our decs will be staying up until the 5th Jan, as I was back at work on the 27th Dec I still want to enjoy them for a little bit more.

Plus DS is enjoying watching the lights come on everyday and surely that's what it's about

Been out for a 3 miles walk along the river this afternoon and saw an otter!!!
I nearly had a heart attack because I thought it was a dog drowning , then it tossed its head and dived back under lol. I was so relieved I can't tell you . The wind has picked up here, very cold out in the wind but in the house we have only just put the heating on. Just had a nice strong cuppa and a piece of M& S carrot cake and a piece of jewelled nut cake from Waitrose , both small and both delicious! Tea later my dh has done the tea tonight , I did shopping for us,for my elderly neighbour and my very elderly parents this morning. Took it to them all later and come back to a long walk. DH has put an app on his phone and it said we burnt 311 calories so we thought the cake would be ok lol. Watching come dine now...... bliss! It doesn't take a lot to make us happy lol

Wilf got worse so we spent half our day in A&E and may need to go back tomorrow. I need to find a way to have Christmas again in a few weeks.
