Have bitten the bullet and bought DH me? a fitit for his birthday if he doesn't like it then l will have steal it mwah hahaaahaaha
Hope all well have a great day everyone!

SallyLockhartsDog · 07/02/2018 08:07

I want to make an effort to celebrate all the different holidays this year. So far for Valentines, I've printed cards for the DC, booked them in to a craft activity at the local art gallery so DH and I (and the baby!) Can go for an afternoon tea/lunch & I'm thinking of love heart pancakes for breakfast too!

Let us know how the fitbit goes MrsM. I was thinking of getting DH one for his birthday, he is a bit obsessive though and I worry he will never take it off again Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 07/02/2018 08:09

Is the daughter local, Mrs? I don't see my parents much (although they're not as old, but they will be one day) because of distance (they're 170 miles' away). It's a real shame if she is and doesn't visit.

My parents are hopefully moving up here this year so they can be closer (although that means moving away from my sister, but her kids are grown up and I think they want to spend more time with ours as they grow).

We don't bother with Valentines' Day in our house. We barely do anniversaries, let alone something like that! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

It was mostly light on my way to the station this morning. And bloody cold; all the puddles have frozen overnight. We put our washing out overnight too. I wonder if it's solid?! 😁

It's a lovely, crisp, winter's day today. Love it!

NoWordForFluffy · 07/02/2018 08:16

Just realised it's 321 today...where's Dusty Bin when you need him?!

Come one come all. It’s countdown to Christmas 2018!
WreckTangled · 07/02/2018 08:25

We don't do valentines either. I've got dh a card but that's it. I usually forget about things like this and anniversaries Grin anyway it's half term so I might take the dc to London for the day. Dh could take the day off and come with us but doubt he will.

Just dropped the dc at school early for books for breakfast. They do it every year during their book week where they get pancakes and stories.

HairsprayBabe · 07/02/2018 08:26

Fluffy Overnight! Shock You can't do that it will get darked on!

I got DP these... we like puns, I also found some sweets in M&S dinosaurs, the packet says "You're Dino-Mite!"

We might have pudding after dinner - v rare.

That is the extent of our plans!

BiddyPop · 07/02/2018 10:07

There used to be a tv programme that started with "Contact is the reason, is the answer, to why everything goes..." or something like that, and the theme tune ended with "3 2 1 CONTACT!" - I think it was a sciency type programme. But that is what I always think of when it is 3 2 1... (or else 5 4 3 2 1 bars - were they available in the UK?).

Meanwhile back in the land of the living, I am jealous of getting clothes out in the air - my sheets had to get tumbled last night....but DD did manage to get out of her bad mood by voluntarily cleaning all the ice off my car this morning so she was happy going to school in the end (she banged her elbow and then got mad at me for some reason, I could do nothing right for 20 minutes!). They're making pancakes in school this morning for their "buddies" (senior infant class DCs that each has a mentor in 6th class - they get matched with a 5th class person in junior infants when they arrive in school and have 2 years of support and fun, with the seniors learning to look out for the younger ones).

But my system has decided that sleep is for the weak again - both DD and I were awake at 4am. Busy day at work, but DH is due home tonight and I intend being in bed by about 9pm.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/02/2018 13:25

Darked on washing is just fine! 😁 Especially if it's breezy overnight. We've sometimes got loads nigh on dry overnight even in winter!

It's lovely and sunny today. I'm just having my lunch time stroll. Gets me out of the office and clears my head for the afternoon slog! I was meant to go out for lunch today, but we all forgot, which would've been fine had I not arranged to call a client to complete his witness statement! Bugger. I had to watch everyone else trooping out. Sigh!

WreckTangled · 07/02/2018 16:20

I got dh this card, it's very apt.

Mrsmadevans · 07/02/2018 17:57

I will keep you posted Sally , methinks he (hubbs) doth protest too much re not wanting a Fitbit lol
Fluffy NDN DDS live in Shrewsbury (75 miles or an hour on the train) and Cheltenham (52 miles). They both drive , have 4x4 cars that their dad has paid for and maintains, he just gave the one daughter Β£500 for a new gearbox, one works p/t the other doesn't work at all. I am afraid there is no excuse they have been ruined and are consequently selfish! He makes excuses for them all the time , poor thing I don't know..... no birthday visit ,cards or presents . I felt bad for him and it is difficult zipping my mouth up tbh but that isn't going to help him, better for him to pretend they care.
You are right the nights are drawing out, I bet you love coming out from work to it being still light. We don't do Valentines either just a card each.
The frozen washing lol l love it!
I used to love 321 , I could never make head nor tail of the rhymes they were nonsense lol. Great prizes though .
Pity about lunch Fluffy but never mind make up for it next time!
Wreck that sounds lovely, pancakes and books yummy!! Great idea for half term to go to London, I love London just has such an air of excitement about it . I think your card for your DH is ace lol!
Hairspray I love the card and the otter is just gorgeous!
I have never heard of 'DARKED ON WASHING' MWHAHAHAAHA
We always take ours in because of someone pinching the clothes on the line but tbh I have never known anyone steal anyone's washing EVER! MWAHAHAHAHa what an Urban Myth!
Biddy hope you get a great nights sleep tonight and a lovely pressie from DH when he comes back and I don't mean his dirty washing lol.
Right best go do tea, only having Sweet potato chips & Burgers tonight something easy and yummy !

SallyLockhartsDog · 07/02/2018 19:43

I'm going to try and replicate the card in the photo Confused wish me luck. My crafting is really not up to it!

Come one come all. It’s countdown to Christmas 2018!
Mrsmadevans · 07/02/2018 20:57

Good luck Sally ! I could not do it either lol

NoWordForFluffy · 07/02/2018 20:58

Good luck, Sally!

I've never known anyone steal washing either, Mrs. I suppose there has to be a first time!

NoWordForFluffy · 08/02/2018 07:00

320

Morning! Thursday is here. 😁

Still rather chilly and our heating is playing up. Sigh. Always the way though, isn't it?

WreckTangled · 08/02/2018 08:24

Morning! Am excited today because a) it's my last day of work for ten days and b) we're going to a Harry Potter evening at Waterstones tonight. Dd is convinced she's going to win the quiz (she's 7!).

HairsprayBabe · 08/02/2018 08:45

So so so cold here today, had to wear gloves under my mittens!

Planning a nice quiet weekend to organise my life and clean the house, we have been busy every weekend since the middle of January and I am slightly jaded from all of it! The house is a mess I just want to do nothing for at least one day!

Mrsmadevans · 08/02/2018 09:27

Morning all!
Hope all ok , great day today just because I am off for a walk in the forest soon .....
It is not too bad here this morning quite mild in fact , Fluffy hope the heating is working again my dear ....BRRRRR
Wreck that sounds lovely enjoy the time off and Good luck to DD!
Hairspray have a good weekend my dear the weather can do one enjoy the chill time!
Just saw Jayne Torvill and Chris Dean on BBC news they are looking good FP, I used to stay up till 3 in the morning to watch them in the Olympics. I loved them so much!

BiddyPop · 08/02/2018 09:50

After a freezing day yesterday, I had to open the office windows this morning as it was boiling! 2 degrees leaving home yesterday, 8.5 this morning....(I'm blaming that for the hot flushed cheeks!!).

I need to pack tonight, we are "down home" for the weekend and I go from there on Sunday to my Monday meetings abroad (which means I can go from the local airport in the late afternoon rather than back here by 10am, but I have to go to a different city on the continent and get a 90 minute train to add to the journey....). I may bring a small craft project that is "allowed" - would I get away with a pair of short metal knitting needles (roughly 6") or should I just bring some cross-stitch?

WreckTangled · 08/02/2018 09:51

-3 here this morning! Ds has forest school so was wrapped up warm

Mrsmadevans · 08/02/2018 14:52

Been for the walk popped into Tesco and found Dobble for 1.50!!
I hastily bought it before anyone could grab it lol!
I will give it to my great nephew with an Egg for Easter. I hope he likes it . Have heard a lot about it but not played it with mine so hope it's good.
NDN DD1 sent a birthday card for him. It was most odd you know, she sent it by special delivery and it cost Β£6.45 for the delivery !!! Thing is though it was just a normal card no Dad or Father or lovely verse on it. I just don't understand her doing that it is sooo expensive. NDN said it was because she wanted to make sure it got to him, it was 2 days late I think she would have been better off not bothering with the expensive post and just put a normal stamp on it. I am just glad he had one from her in the end though .
The Fitbit has arrived! All hail the Fitbit lol! I hope he likes it but if he doesn't then 'it is mine all mine my pretty' lol.

SideOrderofSprouts · 08/02/2018 18:11

Was bloody bitter here today

Thank god it’s half term next week. A week off!

SallyLockhartsDog · 08/02/2018 18:31

It was mild here today and the sun shone - hurrah!!

Taking two of the ddogs to the vet for a check up tomorrow - I am already getting stressed about it. They hate the vet!!

I am super envious of your Harry Potter evening Wreck, good luck to your DD!

NoWordForFluffy · 08/02/2018 19:58

I hope you've won the quiz by now, Wreck!

It was warmer today than it was yesterday (5 vs -5!). Not mild though!

Good bargain spotting, Mrs!

Good luck at the vets, Sally. My old dog hated going, so I don't envy you.

WreckTangled · 08/02/2018 20:11

She got one question wrong. I'm pretty impressed Grin
