Cute hamster!

Loving your cat's collar too, BB. πŸŽ…

I'm starting the week tired. It's not good! I must try for early nights this week so I don't burn out. It's amazing how tired I get during the week. You wouldn't think that using brain power would be so tiring! πŸ˜‚

Mrsmadevans · 05/02/2018 09:01

BB .....Cat Collar is lovely and what a gorgeous boy! You have been very busy and organised! Well done!
Woolly ....bless you, it is so worrying for you being a long way from your DM but take heart your DS sounds lovely and is holding the fort till you can get there. Hope she is fine and it is nothing to worry about.
I laughed at your DS 'programming' Alexa to tell DH he is a stinky bum ! So cute and funny lol!
Hairspray ...aw Mr Woppet is so adorable , such a beautiful little hamster. l love his name too lol !
Fluffy ohhhh my dear you get an early night tonight sweetie , you work so hard and have a long commute it is no wonder you are tired , working with your brain is really exhausting ,you have to be switched on all the time and it is really tiring for you. That ruddy office with no winders doesn't help it sounds inhumane to me lol , take care my dear.
Just off to Cwmbran going to try to replenish my emergency present stash in Primark and whsmiths and home bargains , I need to get a few bits in , just in case you know. My mum has just thrown a spanner in the works by wanting me to get 4 nighties for a friends DD who has special needs and going to hospital for a hysterectomy poor thing. So I am off to Primark to have a look . I think they have some lovely Disney ones there that she would love bless her. Right better shift myself !!
Take care everyone and have a good day .

TheWoollybacksWife · 05/02/2018 09:14

You look after yourself too MrsMad - who cares for the carers? Thanks

I have recently rediscovered the joys of a nightie Blush I'm a shortarse and pyjamas were always uncomfortable on me. When we were away in Harrogate before Christmas DD2 forgot her PJs so I gave her mine and nipped into Debenhams and bought a nightie. Since then it gets worn, washed, dried and back on again in the fastest possible time. I treated myself to another one last week (it was the next time is was in a Debenhams, honest)

Mrsmadevans · 05/02/2018 16:03

Ahhh thank you Woolly Thanks, I have been to Primark and bought 4 nighties for her , they are so reasonable you know . I only paid 18 pounds for the four and it wasn't because they were cheap I bought them.... they were lovely .... well I thought so anyway lol. Will put pic on now . They are excellent value to be fair. I do like a nightie too Woolly but I wear mine with pj bottoms I am ashamed to say lol . The tops never seem to be long enough for my comfort or modesty lol!! Ahem!

Today I put up into the loft all things Xmas that have been sitting around cluttering our spare bedroom up.

I tried to take a picture but the flash hasn’t helped.
There is a mountain of Xmas stuff now πŸ˜‚πŸŽ„πŸ‘πŸ»

It goes back about 4 feet to the back gable-end and is growing bigger every year. 3 large trees, and 5 smaller trees will be going up this year.

Out in the garage is approx 1500 lights for the outside of the house!

Come one come all. It’s countdown to Christmas 2018!
Mrsmadevans · 05/02/2018 16:12

I wanted to get her the Disney ones but my mum wouldn't let me. I would still wear Disney at my age (56 and counting) but perhaps I am being a bit silly I don't know . What do you all think ? I suppose it is up to the individual choice just made me feel a bit Hmm when she wouldn't let me get the Disney ones for her. She is 50 and had special needs so I don't know. Perhaps mum thought they would be humiliating for her I don't know that wasn't my intention. Hey ho what do l know !
Hope all had a good day and soon home and dry , good tv tonight Silent Witness and it has a Christmas Xmas Grin theme I think from what I can gather and the most wonderfully funny Two doors down after .....fabulous!

Mrsmadevans · 05/02/2018 16:13

Blacksmith you are very tidy and organised Xmas Hmm Xmas Grin well done!

NoWordForFluffy · 05/02/2018 17:18

I started to wear nighties when pregnant and haven't lost the habit yet. I was still wearing the maternity / nursing ones until last year (so 3 years after my youngest was born!) but they fell apart! So I bought a load more. 😁

You have loads of trees, Blacksmith. You must have a big house!

WreckTangled · 05/02/2018 17:48

I love pyjamas. I wouldn't feel warm enough in a nightie.

The dc are back at school in their pjs for sleepy story time with hot chocolate. Lucky them.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/02/2018 18:34

I get too hot in pyjamas! I wear them around the house for warmth, but would die a sweaty, tangled, death in bed if I wore them there!

WreckTangled · 05/02/2018 18:42

I don't get hot in bed really. We don't have any heating on in our room so it's freezing Grin in the summer I wear pj shorts and a vest top

NoWordForFluffy · 05/02/2018 19:23

We keep the heat down and window on vent all year. Plus we have the summer weight duvet too. And I'd still find pyjamas too hot!

It's weird, pre-kids I needed the extra warm duvet in winter, now I can't stand being that hot. I think I'm still broken! πŸ˜‚

The first time I have managed the countdown in ages. Now off to get my train.

HairsprayBabe · 06/02/2018 07:13

It is snowing and I got free cake off the baker I walk past in the morning, I think I may have morphed into a disney princess πŸ˜‚

BiddyPop · 06/02/2018 10:09

There was a "dusting of icing" sprinkle on the ground when DH got up to go to the airport this morning, but it was all gone when DD and I got up at our usual time.

Not a lot to report here. Bitterly cold, but dry and fine. I managed some work on the blanket over the weekend, and made 1 initial facecloth, but I forgot my knitting yesterday (I had a real properly bad Monday morning!) so I only got back to that today. Work is mad, home is mad, I need sleep. I am planning a bath tonight when I get home (I bought a Lush bomb yesterday) but I got told 20 minutes ago that I need to stay late for a briefing (or I have to delay 1 project by at least a week - and it's over a week since we actually got this part rolling which should have taken 2 days! Grr!). So DD will have to sort dinner herself (I am about to ring a neighbour - I'm not totally neglectful!).

WreckTangled · 06/02/2018 11:09

No snow here SadSad

NoWordForFluffy · 06/02/2018 12:42

We've had a sprinkling of snow. Nothing to write home about though! Thankfully. I'm not keen on snow!

I had a lovely early night last night and feel a bit more rejuvenated today. I'll try for another tonight, I think!

I try to ignore the madness at home, else it would drive me to utter distraction! And DH doesn't appear to be arsed by it, so there you go. Sigh.

SallyLockhartsDog · 06/02/2018 13:01

No snow here Sad. Life is mad here, but I wouldn't want it any other way. DH jokes that as soon as life calms down, I start planning the next DC or pet!

Biddy how are you making the wash cloths?

BiddyPop · 06/02/2018 15:27

I am knitting them....Blush - using cotton on 4mm needles and patterns I found online years ago (but now realise that I used thicker wool then - the thinner cotton I used at the weekend made for quite a small cloth for a facecloth).

Mrsmadevans · 06/02/2018 17:11

Wow Biddy I am in awe of you really I think you re amazing I don't know how you do it all. 4MM needles are not thick either !!!!
No snow here it tried limply but gave up just bitterly cold.
I have been shopio though and bought 2 perfumes for the pressie cupboard dining room lol.
NDN 88th birthday poor man. His DD2 HASN'T BEEN FOR 7 WEEKS!!!!
His DD1 came on Sunday , no card no present , he gave her a cheque for Β£500 for petrol.......l do feel so sorry for him. Nothing l can do except what I do already , namely his shopping, prescriptions and going in daily for about an hour. I am the only person he ever sees . I do feel bad for him but.....
Anyway hope all ok soon be pancake day yayyyy!

ChristmasAddict · 06/02/2018 20:50

Wow blacksmith that is a lot of trees, I love it!

How is Wilf doing fridge?

Such a sad situation for your NDN Mrs, there definitely isn't a reason behind the bad relationship with his children? I only ask as I won't be visiting my parents in their old age but they are abusive.

Mrsmadevans · 06/02/2018 21:07

Ceebs he has been very good to them financially and emotionally but l think they have been spoilt to be honest with you and it had made them very selfish . They blame one another for everything , I am not coming, it isn't my turn, it's her turn now. You get my drift I am sure. Meanwhile I am left with to pick up the pieces and it isn't fair on him . I don't blame you re the NC with your parents , some ppl should never have had children, I am sorry your childhood wasn't what it should have been my dear. It is very upsetting for you I am sure but to come to terms with it is the best thing you can do I feel.
