MrsMad - the small Alexa in our room does odd things (like asking me suddenly at 2am "how many people want to play the music game?" - when I am all alone and asleep!), but last night it couldn't find the podcast we wanted and then not the radio station we wanted so DH said "Alexa you are annoying me" and she answered "thank you for letting me know"!
Then she managed to find the radio station but it was a rubbish comedy, so we found the podcast on the iPad instead and turned Alexa off.
This week has been productive at work, but not on Scouts matters (Group Leader took my docs for Saturday afternoon as I was in a rush, and I still haven't got them back but need them before tomorrow!!), or my other Committee matters (I started the minutes of last week's meeting but DD needed a lot of interaction instead at CoderDoJo so that got halted after "there were no matters arising on the minutes of the last meeting"!). But I have managed a good (well, reasonable) bit of crafting - I've added about 3' to the current scarf on the commute, I got a few more rows done on the lap blanket last night (maybe 4"?), and some cross-stitch as well another night.
My overall aim this year is 14 scarves (DH, all my DSibs and their DPs/DHs/DWs, and DHSibs and their DH/DW). Hopefully a few cross-stich tree ornaments for the DParents and DMIL. I may finally finish that blanket, and it will probably go to DH's DUncle. And if the scarves don't kill my knitting fingers, I will aim for cotton facecloths (with a nice soap each) for my DUncles/DAunts etc (at least 10 and possibly a few more rather than generic boxes of chocs). And a couple of dollie blankets (already cut out), tote bags and pyjamas to sew and beanie hats to knit for various DCs around the place (DD, and various nieces and nephews and more extended family/friends small people). I also have some felt tree decorations cut out, and hearts to stuff with lavender (and material to make more of both) so that may also get added to my list of things if I get bored.
What am I saying - I can't get all that done this year!! (I've already re-allocated the black cotton wool I had for a few years to make a lacy shrug for me to use on 2 scarves for male DSibs/DPs who have professional jobs and need smart styles rather than robust thick ribbed ones).
