I’m having a bath with a glass of wine trying to chill out. On top of all that dh Work hasn’t given him his pay rise but his new rate of tax has kicked in leaving us shorter. Never rains but pours eh?

Still we’ll get there. Can’t last forever eh?

Mrsmadevans · 18/01/2018 19:19

Ahhh that is a downer Sprout , enjoy your bath my dear and the wine and try to relax. Nothing you can do about it all but this will be a distant memory very soon. Wine and Flowers for you my dear.
On another note ....... I see the Christmas emojis have gone...sob they have left us one solitary Santa though [santa].

NoWordForFluffy · 18/01/2018 19:34

Oh god, Sprouts. Not good all round! It can only get better!

I just do the Christmas emojis myself...they can't take them away from me! Xmas Angry Xmas Grin

SideOrderofSprouts · 18/01/2018 20:47

Morning! Hurrah for Friday!

What are everyone's weekend plans? We aren't doing anything too amazing; probably the squirrel woods and maybe a trip into Liverpool. But the weather is meant to be rubbish on Sunday, so not sure what to do. πŸ€”

blacksmiths09 · 19/01/2018 07:00

Groan. It seems an absolute age ago since Christmas season. And it’s so far away until I can start this years.

Really missing it all now. The twinkling lights. The festive tv and film etc.

WreckTangled · 19/01/2018 07:07

Yay no work today! I'm going to see a friend for coffee this morning and another this afternoon Grin then on Sunday we're going to Winchester science centre as it's dinosaur weekend.

NoWordForFluffy · 19/01/2018 08:19

Twinkling lights are lovely. I miss ours round the lounge window. Xmas Sad

January is THE WORST month. It's so damn long. On the up side I've noticed that the skies are slightly lighter when I leave work at 5pm, so that makes me happy!

HairsprayBabe · 19/01/2018 08:22

Working out how to decorate my flat share room so it isn't totally soul-less....

LED lights, throws, rugs, lots of texture, neutral palette, want it to feel like a fancy scandi spa I think...

NoWordForFluffy · 19/01/2018 08:23

Did you find somewhere OK?

Where in WB are you?

HairsprayBabe · 19/01/2018 08:40

Found somewhere just over the bridge off a small side road near the football stadium.

Little flat share to keep costs down, had a nightmare with the bloody letting agent but it should all be fine now I think!

Mrsmadevans · 19/01/2018 08:50

Hope the Sproutlings are feeling better Sprout !
Am going to try the Santa emojis out myselfdidn't know we could do them ourselves Here goes Xmas Grin Xmas Smile haha
Squirrel trail and Liverpool trip sounds lovely Fluffy have a great time. The skies are noticibly lighter now hooray!
Hairspray...... Blacksmith.... lots of lights is the wtg I was vere miserable after taking the decs down. I bought a little string of lights and laid them on the windowsill. Everyone thought I was being daft , DH scoffed at me the worst, guess who is the first to put the lights on in the drab afternoons now Xmas GrinXmas Grin they make a huge difference.
Wreck the coffee with friends sound lovely , have a great time catching up gossiping me love a good gossip Xmas GrinXmas Grin now to see if the christmas emojis have worked !
I am feeling good I restrained myself from buying the emma bridgewater mugs lol! I think Fluffy helped me yesterday thank you Fluffy !
Have a great day everyone, hope all are feeling better and we got Rudolph day to look forward to don't forget!
Am off up the parents to sort them out this morning and then will be in need of a huge walk to shake the stress of dealing with them off lol ! Well it is better than drink , food or killing them Xmas Grin Xmas Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 19/01/2018 09:11

Fluffy would your DC be too small for the World Museum? I used to spend days and days there as a kid. I'm seriously considering buying tickets to go and see the terracotta Warriors there in half term. DD1 would come with me like a shot but I'd have to bring DS and I don't know if I can cope with the whining. There must surely be a support group for parents whose children suffer withdrawal symptoms from their consoles Grin

On a festive note I've just purchased a Sophie Allport Christmas apron. It's the mistletoe and robin print and it is just lovely.

Right, I must crack on. We have a viewing this afternoon and there are bathrooms to clean and pits bedrooms to tidy. I don't think I told you Fluffy but we are moving to your old home town.

Mrsmadevans · 19/01/2018 09:29

Sophie Allport Christmas apron. It is just beautiful as is all her stuff.
I have been coveting this Woolly but too mean to pay the p & p
Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 19/01/2018 12:13

They're 3 and 4, Woolly, so maybe a tiny bit young. Though they loved Kelvingrove museum in Glasgow, so maybe not!

Which end of my old home town? The end with the school your DS is going to? We may yet meet up, though my parents are planning to move up to me, so I won't be going down anywhere near as much once that happens! They currently live down the road from the big park, next to a little gardening shop, so not far from the school.

I need to investigate the aprons now. Xmas Grin

Sounds like you've a busy day planned, Mrs!

Hairspray, that's convenient for walking into the city and the WB shops / bars too. Good location! Estate agents are the pits, honest to god!

BiddyPop · 19/01/2018 13:01

Hairspray sounds good that you are sorted and can start to plan making the space nice for yourself!

Woolly good luck with the cleaning and the viewing.

Mrs don't go too mad with all you are planning!

Ohh Sprouts, poor you and poor Sproutlings as well. I hope you are all on the mend soon.

Today, I spent far too much in the sales in a fabric shop (I went that part of the city for Cub badges but the Scout shop wasn't open yet, and the fabric shop had final reductions before their stock take). I did get 2 decent remnants of oil cloth for using at Cubs (keep the tables less messy when painting etc) for a song as well. But I mostly bought black fleece with skull and crossbones pattern to make soft furnishing for re-doing DD's room (a blanket/throw and some cushions - to avoid painting it black!), various embellishments and cardmaking bits, a small remnant of cotton for my stash, and some "Merry Christmas" ribbon.

And 8 balls of wool for at least 5 people's hats/scarves for Christmas 2018 presents. This year WILL be the year of homemade.....

This weekend though, I need to focus on tidying the spare bedroom and getting things properly organized for a very busy fortnight ahead (when DH is likely to be overseas for most of it Angry I only realized this morning that he's away now for the senior management conference at work, which is boooooring anyway but I have missed the gathering that is never arranged but always happens in a local hostelry afterwards for the past 4 years and I swore I was going this year - I even emailed him to put it in his diary....but as the dates changed and he didn't comment, I guess he forgot about that part....)

Oh, and Cubs Saturday, sailing Sunday and lots of paperwork as Cubs leaders meeting Saturday after kids go, and other committee meeting Tuesday night.

TheWoollybacksWife · 19/01/2018 13:27

Blimey Biddy you put us all to shame with your to do list.

House all clean and tidy. Even DD2's room ShockGrin

Fluffy I think we might be moving very close to your DParents. We are moving to the new development near the garden centre on WL - down from the big park.

NoWordForFluffy · 19/01/2018 17:24

Oh, that's really near my sister, Woolly, as she's on the IL Estate. The new roundabout by your estate is much safer for escaping the IL though, it has to be said, than turning straight into WL.

Biddy, you always seem so busy with a purpose. I feel busy, but it never seems to have as much purpose as your busy!

SideOrderofSprouts · 19/01/2018 18:29

Only things I’ve bought in the sales is stuff for
Eldest sprouts birthday that was on yhe15th.

I’m seriously slacking this year

Mrsmadevans · 19/01/2018 19:20

Biddy , words fail me you are just amazing.
Sprout never fear there will be lots of sale stuff to buy through the year, hope Sproutlings are ok .
Am tired now, just cooked a lovely tea , it was grilled sausages , bacon, egg, toms mushies and brown sauce yummy, have washed all up and have looked after the parents and the NDN , am settling to watch the tv scoff the last of the mince pies with cream and look at the sales online. Well what is left Xmas GrinXmas Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 20/01/2018 07:57

I'm tapping my fingers, wanting to buy stuff, but we just don't need / have room for anymore household-type things and I can't buy presents yet really. It's very frustrating!
