I've put it somewhere safe mrs!

Off out today to the forest. Should be good.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/01/2018 08:07

Have fun, Wreck. I think we are staying at home. The kids are quite tired, so our planned trip to the local wetland place is shelved!

Mrsmadevans · 14/01/2018 08:48

Fluffy I sympathise re the disturbed sleep had a terrible night... I woke twice with nightmares. First one , DH and I found a body in the woods ....EEEEEEKKKKK so real , second one someone had taken all our furniture and taken it to Newtown Powys and the removal firm was BOOTS!!! Have a quiet day in my dear and chill. We are off to Cwmbran to pick up parcels and browse.
Wreck Good girl re the crown , it will save you waiting for a new one to be done. Forest sounds lovely , hope there are no bodies ...shudder! Nightmares were so real!!
I only had a hot toddy from M&S to warm up yesterday evening won't be having that again
Hope all well have a good day everyone!

FridgeCut · 14/01/2018 10:19

Morning all! We went out for dinner last night, I drove so no hangover today but my hip is knackered. Three weeks till pre-op and hopefully a max of 12 weeks from that till surgery.

ConstantlyCooking · 14/01/2018 11:18

Jen - I like the idea of leaving a mug for Rudolph Days nothing to do with finding a forgotten Christmas mug at the back of the cupboard Xmas Grin

Mrsmadevans · 14/01/2018 14:13

Great news on the date for surgery Fridge , am crossing everything for you!
Constant , just bought these from Asda www.google.co.uk/search?q=elf+mug+asda&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjAkvC50dfYAhVLF8AKHSbuBDYQ_AUICygC&biw=911&bih=425#imgrc=zx-hSB_9MEFA6M:

SallyLockhartsDog · 14/01/2018 15:14

I love that mug MrsMad. What does one do on a Rudolph day?

We are sitting around watching Just William and I'm doing a pork roast for tea...went to fabric shop this morning but found no inspiration for Christmas 2018

VivaJen · 14/01/2018 15:51

Love those mugs & that was a super bargain MrsM!

Sally we celebrate Rudolph Day on the 25th on each month and use it to do some Christmas Prep. Have a look at Organized Christmas to get the idea. Also @BiddyPop gives a great explanation

Mrsmadevans · 14/01/2018 20:15

Thank you .I am so pleased with them am going to fill them with sweeties much much nearer the day for my 2 littlies my great neice and nephew. I hope they don't chip before then !
Think I will give them to them before Xmas or they won't get the use out of them. My DD said are you going to give them to James and Bill ? my nephew and his Boyfriend she reckoned the elf looked like them lol!
I might just keep them for myself though because I do love them lol.

Morning all! I'm doing overtime this morning, as am already on the train to work. The joys!

The good news is that I had a very early night last night (I went to bed after putting DS to bed!) which means I had over 8 hours' sleep (despite getting up at 5!). It was definitely needed!

It also prevented me from eating any more left over Christmas snacks, so win / win. πŸ·πŸ˜‚

HairsprayBabe · 15/01/2018 07:01

Morning all, feels like January is crawling by so slowly, Jan and March always feel like the longest months to me, July, October and obvs December go by in a flash.... Feb is alright because I am distracted by my birthday!

WreckTangled · 15/01/2018 07:20

Work today. The weather is awful! Also I need to try and get to the dentist but no idea when I'll get time!

BiddyPop · 15/01/2018 09:39

Busy weekend gettting back to normal. First meeting of Scouts (so I had to go as a new parent). First meeting of Cubs (so I had to make the speech to new parents). DD did 2 sessions of boat work and came home covered in blue (sanding anti-foul off boat hulls) - luckily it washed out. DH and I managed a walk while she worked. DD also on a major come down from excitement of last week so that made for some fun ( 😑πŸ˜ͺ😴 πŸ˜‘πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜€πŸ˜–πŸ˜πŸ˜„πŸ˜πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜πŸ˜‘was just her - I just needed serious patience, and a stiff gin late last night!!πŸ™„).

Busy week ahead at work, and paperwork for various things at home. DH is only away 2 days, but then he announced that not only does he leave Saturday for an almost week long trip, it has been extended so I have 10 days without him, including DDs overnight at her new school! Grrrrrr!

WreckTangled · 15/01/2018 14:25

Tooth fixed phew! Wasn't really painful just uncomfortable

VivaJen · 15/01/2018 14:36

Good news Wreck

So the bin men took away my tree today ☹️ The drive is covered in pine needles and I’m a little bit sad.

WreckTangled · 15/01/2018 16:45

Little wet on the way home

Come one come all. It’s countdown to Christmas 2018!
NoWordForFluffy · 15/01/2018 17:16

Overtime again (just got to think of the money, particularly as paid overtime is very rare in my profession!), and for the foreseeable future. It'll help me boost my Christmas savings anyway!

Some of the stocking filler bits arrived from Baker Ross yesterday. They're really nice for what I spent. The kids will love the stick on moustaches! πŸ˜‚

NoWordForFluffy · 16/01/2018 06:31

Oh, and the train from us to Manchester takes forever as it's one of those trains which stops at every town and village you've never heard of! Is yours similar, Mrs, or is it just the distance that's the cause of it?

HairsprayBabe · 16/01/2018 07:11

Oooh more snow warnings here.... that should make me feel a bit more festive!

Marypoppinsisnosaint · 16/01/2018 08:47

Hello everyone,

I'm a bit of a lurker on these boards I absolutely love them. I did start commenting and following last year however I got distracted by our ds who was on the way. We decided last minute, well 8 weeks before my due date we were re decorating downstairs which included plastering 2 rooms and putting a whole new floor in.

Anyway I digress. I'm very much looking forward to planning this years Christmas. My oldest dd will be 3 and I know she will have such an understand this time. Also ds will be one in November so This year I feel I can enjoy Christmas a bit more rather than it being feeding and changing nappies. I'll still be on maternity leave and this will probably be my last Christmas not working so fully want to enjoy it all.

So far I've bought both children's main gift in the sales and a few other bits and pieces for various others. I've also written my card list and written on the general cards. Last year I managed to save all my loyalty points for food shopping plus saving stamps. This year I plan on saving more for food shop by starting now and I'm going to give the penny challenge a go.

Sorry I seemed to have rambled on a bit there.

SallyLockhartsDog · 16/01/2018 13:23

Hello MaryPoppins - your Christmas will be lovely! I remember the Christmas when my DDs were 1&3 and the excitement was through the roof - it was perfect.

My bits arrived from Joules and they are really lovely. I have stopped the buying now and will start planning hand made gifts....any ideas anyone?

Mrsmadevans · 16/01/2018 13:48

Fluffy the train is a nightmare you can't get a signal on your phone so you are bored to tears, also a man sat by us stank of BO and we were both dying laughing. Couple that with the most disgusting toilets and the overcrowding and it is just horrible.
Get the overtime in when you can I say spesh as it is not good weather, the light is bad you can't do much else except stay in and watch telly and clean up, you may as well make the most of it. Good for you!
Welcome Mary you will have a lovely Christmas with your 2 dc Ahhh bless them.
Walked up the market today very cold , had a delivery of my gorgeous Asda throws and cushions they are just gorgeous!!
Sally have you thought about doing jams , chutneys and pickled things, they always seem to go down well. My mum did knitted father Christmas and snowmen .
Hope everyone is ok take care if it snows!

NoWordForFluffy · 16/01/2018 19:33

Mrs, our train to Manchester goes through the signal black hole too. Boooooooring!
