Jan diet here too. Sort of Blush

Wearing my biggest post Christmas sale bargain today. A top from crew clothing Β£65 down to Β£19!

Have a meeting at my old place of work which is fun because I get to see all my old colleagues and am going out for lunch with my old manager.

NoWordForFluffy · 09/01/2018 07:51

That's not so bad, Hairspray. Sounds ideal, in fact!

I'd live in West Bridgford again if I moved back, depending on where I needed to be.

Though I had a flat in Hucknall when I was at law school, which was OK. The tram only had one route in those days, so it was handy for that!

I've not weighed myself after Christmas (and I forgot to weigh myself when I got home from being weighed at a nurse appointment in December, so I'm not sure how 'out' from my real weight my scales are!). I don't want a massive shock. Once I'm feeling confident I'll try my smallest jeans on again!

HairsprayBabe · 09/01/2018 08:11

West Bridgford is where I am looking, only a 20 min walk from my office and a 13 min stumble from seven not that i have counted cocktail bars Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 09/01/2018 09:02

It's lovely there! I'm rather jealous. Xmas Envy

HairsprayBabe · 09/01/2018 09:05

I am very excited, and very nervous, I feel like I will have imposter syndrome for good while!

BiddyPop · 09/01/2018 10:03

I am dreading tomorrow morning, as we have a small group doing "weightwatchers" ourselves - mostly just a weekly weigh in and motivational chat for 15 minutes at the top of the back stairs. I had just managed to stay under 13 stone before Christmas - I am 12st8 at home but adding clothes and breakfast does change that, and I hadn't weighed at home for quite a while before Christmas so I have no idea how bad it will be......
(My end goal is 10st6, intermediate realistic goal is 11st7 - on my home scales).

I popped into a local design store to get coffee this morning in their cafΓ© but never made it upstairs - I ended up buying a few things in the sale. Mainly Christmas decorations to give as presents next year (and a VW bus with a tree on top from Newbridge - for our own tree).

Wreck enjoy your day!! And stop trying to jinx me!!

Hairspray it sounds exciting (not jealous of those cocktail bars at all!!), hope you find what you're looking for.

MrsMad sounds like you are having a very busy time yourself these days and getting lots done, well done!

NoWordForFluffy · 09/01/2018 17:24

Don't eat breakfast, Biddy! Or drink anything. I always try to weigh at my emptiest, if possible! πŸ˜‚

Mrsmadevans · 09/01/2018 17:39

Biddy they will all be in the same boat as you lovely don't stress about it.......would love to be 12 st something in my wildest dreams I loike the sound of that design shop too...........
I walked up to town and bought a few things from Bnm and Wilkinsons, I was very controlled lol I bought 2 X 2 ft Christmas trees to go in the front porch this Christmas hubbs will re pot them in terracotta pots . We didn't have anything in the porch this year and it looked DRAB!!! my word of the moment I also bought a small string of battery operated lights to go on my windowsill to use now . I returned the Christmas Eucalyptus trees to the sill as well. I just can't bear the blandness of the room ......yuk and thrice yuk!
Hairspray I have never been to West Bridgford ......[wanders off for a look at the houses there] .....Good luck with the move ...... there are some really lovely houses there, you will be spoilt for choice my dear!

FridgeCut · 09/01/2018 17:41

evening all! Wilf has gone back to school to do his nativity, this was rescheduled due to ice. He is quite excited, but it feels very odd!

I managed to find some cheap christmas bits on wilko today, some elf wrapping paper for stocking bits I was pretty pleased with. I quite like sales dregs!

TheWoollybacksWife · 09/01/2018 17:49

Good luck to Wilf Fridge. I've got a basket full of Nativity costumes from Playgroup to mend. I reckon I need to do a couple a week to have them all done by Easter and I'll give them a little wash to freshen them up too. It'll make a change to have 3 year old's clothes on my line. DS has just turned 11 and is only about 3 inches shorter than me Grin

Mrsmadevans · 09/01/2018 17:58

Fridge ! So pleased young Wilf is doing so well enjoy the Nativity too!
Good luck with the mending/washing Woolly you are a good un .

NoWordForFluffy · 09/01/2018 18:07

Have fun at the nativity, Fridge.

That's not so bad, Woolly. I caught my (very short) mum up when I was 8! πŸ˜‚

SideOrderofSprouts · 09/01/2018 18:28

All back to normal here. Actually getting cold.

Dh is on a horrible shift pattern at the moment as well :(

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 09/01/2018 19:47

If my DH was on this thread he'd now be telling everyone his amazing shit fact that it's scientifically proven that a child will always be taller than their mother

Disclaimer: I have no idea if this is actually a well known fact or indeed even true I don't give a shit

Sorry DH if you're reading this not sorry

WreckTangled · 09/01/2018 19:50

Oh I know that fact Paddington. No idea if it's true or not Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 09/01/2018 19:52

My daughter will be a giant then! 😱

WreckTangled · 09/01/2018 19:54

Oh no I misread I've always thought it was that a SON will be always taller than their mother. I'm not taller than my mum and I don't have any full brothers to compare too. Hope ds is taller than me!

NoWordForFluffy · 09/01/2018 20:04

My daughter looks more likely to be the tall one at the moment. I imagine DS will do the typical teen boy spurt and overtake all of us though!

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 09/01/2018 20:07

My DS is 6 and is already up to my boobs and I am 5'9" Shock

NoWordForFluffy · 09/01/2018 20:08

Wow, Paddington! He's gonna be huge!

SallyLockhartsDog · 09/01/2018 20:15

Hello all Smile can I join? Was on the Ponce thread too.

Today I made a big order on ebay joules outlet for gifts this year. The DC are off to NYC next week so I will use this time to get some super early Ponce work done!

I would love to have the thread baby but Ithink it may be 2019 for us as DH thinks we are too busy for DC4 HmmHmmHmm

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 09/01/2018 20:25

NoWord he was over 10lb when he was born and has been big ever since!!! One of the youngest in his year but also one of the tallest. I think DH loves him being tall as people often comment so he can wheel his fact out again

NoWordForFluffy · 09/01/2018 20:28

DD was 9lbs 7oz and is still tall, though her weight has dropped down the centiles.

Her year at school are mostly tall it seems. Lots of leggy young girls!

FridgeCut · 09/01/2018 20:30

I'm not taller than anyone, I am 5ft2 on a good day. Wilf is short and Gabe is tall, there is very little height difference between them seeing as they are two years apart.

Wilf had a bacon sandwich for dinner after the nativity, I am trying to jam him full of fat and carbs!!

Mrsmadevans · 09/01/2018 20:32

Sally of course you can join in my dear! I am just off to check out the Joules ebay outlet as we speak lol
Kids height is funny you know...... both my DDS are taller than their dad he was 6ft he has shrunk an inch they are just over 6 ft tall I am 5ft 6 l was 5ft 7 l have shrunk an inch too-- but given I was not really that tall l think they are surprisingly tall!
