I'm finishing up some Christmas food from the freezer this weekend.
Still have a Christmas Fridge after New Year Xmas Grin though the delicious Camenbert got eaten (only because it was whiffing out the fridge)

I need some new cushions , I don't think DH would go for the red/white Merry&Bright ones sadly.

DD talked me out of trying on a coat in John Lewis (it was very nice , grey /white/black sort of pixallated check. Reduced from Β£170 to Β£85 )

You've got coats (true) you don't go anywhere that needs that coat (also true) . But it was nice .

NoWordForFluffy · 07/01/2018 08:17

It's only a bargain if you need it, 70! Xmas Grin

I got myself some undies in the M&S sale, which I did need. But other than that it's been kitchenware, wine glasses and wrapping paper / cards. Not very exciting!

We still have a white chocolate cheesecake in the freezer to eat. Not sure when, but it'll have to be soon. Maybe after we've finished the cheese mountain, which we are getting through steadily!

I really need to scale back this Christmas as it'll save money and waste / forcing it down ourselves for the sake of it (it was tortilla chips last night!).

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/01/2018 09:32

Sad but true Fluffy it was really nice though.... probably wouldn't have suited me though, and there's a reason it was half price , yes?

I go by the "Would you pay full price for it" mantra. If the answer is "No" then walk away.
I did buy the much raved about M&S Leopard Coat (I had a gift voucher so that took care of a good % of the cost) . I look Goddess-esque in it.
DD - predictably - hates it , but Rasp , I'm rocking it Xmas Grin

Chottie · 07/01/2018 11:58

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 07/01/2018 17:07

I've only just found this thread!! Yay!!

Today I purchased the exact placemats and coasters I wanted for Christmas but could not find for love nor money!! In the sale Β£10 reduced to Β£5 (although I needed 3 packs so wouldn't have paid Β£30 anyway!!)

I haven't read the full thread yet so I don't know if there are any volunteers but please could I put myself forward for the thread baby?! Second round of IVF starting end of Jan Bear

WreckTangled · 07/01/2018 17:12

Ooo fingers crossed Paddington!

I found some pigs in blankets in the freezer. They'll go well with my shepherds pie Grin

Mrsmadevans · 07/01/2018 18:21

Paddington I love placemats..... what ones are they and where did you get them from pray tell? I am not going to buy any more though I just wondered which ones you have . I bought new ones last year and like them very much , Good luck with the IVF my dear I am sure we will all be rooting for you sweetie.
We had some pib too Wreck but they were dire they were about three years old and reduced to 50p a box when I bought them 2 yrs ago LOL!

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 07/01/2018 19:01

The light doesn't do them justice but they are red and glittery and I love them. I have 9 for Christmas Day and they come in packs of 4 so needed 3 packs. I searched high and low for something like this, I can't actually remember if I did see them but refused to pay Β£30 for them!!

We put the decorations in the loft today but I need to find more bubble wrap for the Christmas mugs.
DH and I went away for a week over New Year (2017 was not a great year) and so I have arrived home to a mountain of chocolate and cheese!
Back to work tomorrow but the New Year diet will have to wait for an empty fridge!
I am hoping to join you all more this year - I slipped off a few threads but was reading and following.Xmas Smile

I'm feeling the need for a Christmas apron too πŸ‘

NoWordForFluffy · 08/01/2018 06:56

Morning!

How is it Monday already?! Thankfully I'm off on Friday, so only a 4 day week (I have the dentist and I'm avoiding the train strike, though I'm also suffering the strikes today and Weds).

DS came into our room at 4.20 this morning. I barely slept after that. Today will be a loooooooong old day!

HairsprayBabe · 08/01/2018 07:16

I handed in my notice last week, now I need to find a weekday rental in Nottingham before I start next month 😨 it is all happening rather quickly!

WreckTangled · 08/01/2018 07:17

Eugh back to school and work Sad

NoWordForFluffy · 08/01/2018 07:36

Are you going to move house, or just stay in Nottingham during the week, Hairspray?

Which side of the city are you going to be based? I love Nottingham. I lived there for a while as I went to law school there.

Good luck with the going back to work, Wreck. Our two are glad to be going back to preschool / school!
