What are you doing today? Its Christmas eve eve eve!

I finally break up today until the 27th! Roll on 17:30!

works doo tonight and i'm making sure my lovely DP picks me up at 11pm takeout in hand as its christmas food shop tomorrow.

Anyone else finally able properly start the festivities today? xx

Going out for breakfast, then planting trees with DH on the farm before it gets too hot. It's only 6.30 where I am, so not yet breakfast time .

Food shop all done bar a basket full of last minute bits that dh can go and get on Saturday am.

Going to see Father Christmas at a crystal cave!!!!!! DS is 2.5 so starting to 'get' Christmas this year, he's so excited! DS2 is 6 weeks old so obviously utterly divine. Excited!!!

Will then hopefully make a batch of gingerbread to make the house tomorrow, although DS just wants a tractor. Will have to be hand-cut as I don't have a tractor cutter!

I still have to clean, wrap presents, but for DP ( he didnt know what he wanted until now) plus we have DSC coming sat night....left eveything to the last minute as usual.

Finished work yesterday so today DH gets to go and watch Star Wars at the cinema, I'll be taking DS to do the last few bits of gift and food shopping before going to my parents tomorrow (so also a bit of laundry and packing later, and probably a takeaway).

I have to try and find something for my bloody impossible to buy for Uncle. Homebase have sold out of batlights so I'll be rummaging around Halfords and then probably getting him a comedy T shirt and some elf slippers from Matalan

Taking my ds to the local panto with mil. We will be then be going to mil's house for dinner. Dh is at work all day.

However woke up with a sore throat and a snotty nose. 30 weeks pregnant and it feels like I have been constantly ill lately, so feeling a little down. Going to take some honey and lemon, paracetamol and hope I pick up.

I'm working. Children at school although they break up at 12:15.

The business I work for closes at 1pm although my department is staying open until 5:30pm. I at least will finish at 4pm as I work 8-4.

Need to do various other things between now and Monday including finding my Christmas spirit which has disappeared off somewhere.

Did the food (and booze) shop. Both fridges are overflowing!

Made adult DS brace the shops to get the last minute gift for DD that was needed to balance it out and also because I forgot she wanted one - a drone FFS . He got the last one and it was the display model. How on earth do people do all their present shopping on Christmas Eve? Surely everything is sold out??

I'm now officially done and can enjoy the first load of friends arriving tomorrow night.

Now enjoying a beer - fear not, I'm a separate time zone to you lot .

Then at work till 23:00hrs.

On the train to work, having dropped a grumpy girl to school and an exhausted and starting a cold DH to his work.

We all finish at lunch though, so they're getting the train to town to meet me later and we'll get the last its we want.

Then we are going home, and have "The nightmare before Christmas " to watch for the first time ever. And we will RELAX!!!!

(Running at 100 mph the past few months so downtime is desperately needed!)

Today's my first day off!

I'm taking DD (4) to do her Christmas shopping (in Waitrose, because I can't face town 😂)

Going to a friend's after for a lunchtime Christmas party with the kids

Taking DD and DS to panto

Home and the Christmas food shopping is being delivered so we'll have loads of lovely food!

Going to put up some more decorations tonight too.

Sorting out some home admin mumsnetting, will pop into work for a couple of hours, just to 'supervise' , drinnks with friends late afternoon. All shoppng done (except for a large box of Black Magic), most presents wrapped, feeling very chilled as I no longer get stressed over Christmas even bought gravy from M & S this year. .

Relaxing day at home with my 2DC. Maybe visit the library later to return books. Then after they've gone to their Dad's for the weekend I've got ALL the presents to wrap 😩😩

I have a day off today. Unfortunately I have to work all weekend. I want to sit and chill but need to clean the house instead. When Dp gets home we are going to do the Christmas food shop and pick up a couple of presents. I'm not looking forward to it and am cursing us that we didn't think to book a home delivery. Once the last of the presents are wrapped and the food shop is done we are done. I usually love Christmas but this year I have zero Christmas spirit and it really doesn't feel like Christmas is in a few days. I don't know if its because I'm working right up to it.

Myself and week old DD are having a duvet day. We've been in hospital for a few days as she's jaundiced so need to recharge the batteries before the 'big day'
