Christmas wrapping inspiration

I always do a "theme" for my Christmas presents every year, last year the children's presents were made to look like ballerina's and toy soldiers, and the adults were silver paper with white ribbon and white poinsetta's. This years children's presents are being wrapped to look like ginger bread houses but I need inspiration for my adults. Can you post your past wrapping creations if you have any please Flowers

Blogwoman to make really easy advent packages search for 'sour cream containers' on Pinterest or YouTube.
You only need paper/ card and adhesive to start with but can decorate as you wish.

Thanks AWholeLot - I’m trying to come up with table/room decs for DD’s birthday this weekend & then I need to apply myself to Advent, so will take a look. Just saw some lovely cardboard boxes like Christmassy houses, designed for advent gifts, in John Lewis. £15 not unreasonable but reluctant to spend it, especially as I’d need to do them for both DC & then my husband would want to join in too! Mind you, cheap compared with the luxurious advent calendars that seem to be popular now...

Good lord! This is some next level wrapping. They all look absolutely stunning.

Reastie · 24/10/2017 19:03

Brilliant, I love brown paper and ribbon combo, very festive and effective but cheap to do.

Can I show you my first wrapped Christmas presents of the year please? These are for my nephew and niece, about to be couriered to the other end of the country by my DPs Smile

Just came across this thread and I'm gutted to have got to the end of it! I need more inspiration! Grin

OMG
This is wrapping on a new level. I never knew people did this. Wow!

tryingtocatchthewind · 04/11/2017 08:00

Gorgeous but how do you manage non-box gifts. All of my kids gifts are in stupid plastic packets. Do you put them into boxes?
Oh dear I can see this thread costing me a fortune!

Blogwoman · 04/11/2017 08:04

I just picked up some Christmassy fabric pouches in a charity shop, for bagging small gifts. They have appliqué designs on, but I couldn’t buy the ones with the candle on as it looked like an ejaculating penis... Confused

secondhoneymoon · 04/11/2017 08:26

@Blogwoman you can't post something like that without a photo - back to the charity shop you go ...

@MrsCrimbo74 .... the presents you wrapped for your colleague - did you make the flower/bow topper things yourself? They are gorgeous. If so, how did you make them?

feelslikearockandahardplace · 04/11/2017 09:15

Oh wow. Only looked at first page so far, they're amazing MrsCrimbo

Blogwoman · 04/11/2017 13:19

second I missed a trick there, and it would have livened up Christmas Day no end Grin. Might have to buy one if they're there when I go back...

buzzmoon · 04/11/2017 13:27

This thread is amazing! I love wrapping! Last year I just did brown paper with red and white string and hand lettered labels. Simple but looked lovely! Don’t know what to do this year, watching with interest! 👀

buzzmoon · 04/11/2017 13:30

I am doing my dad a gin advent calendar! got some brown paper bags of amazon for like £1.50 and going to design some number labels to print!

MrsCrimbo74 · 04/11/2017 17:54

Love the reindeer wrapping!
secondhoneymoon yes I made them myself by cutting strips of the wrapping paper and then with each strip folding each end to the middle so it looks like a bow then sticking it down and sticking another one on top diagonally, continue doing that until you have as many as you want, I then cut out a circle of wrapping paper to stick in the middle to cover all the joins.

Have been making my gift tags for my adult presents today, I've decided on silver paper with white ribbons and baubles and these reindeer gift tags.

. Wow placemarking!

SteelyPip · 05/11/2017 00:50

These are all so lovely - thanks for sharing them!

This year (for the first time) I'm going all out and have ordered mini holly berries, bows and ribbons, brown paper, buttons and bits and bobs in festive colours, cinnamon sticks, dried oranges, star anise and I have no idea what else Amazon will bring from my mad ordering spree! Grin

I've loving all of your ideas. Here are some of the ones online that I love and would really like to have a crack at emulating.

I abolute love Kate's Creative Space. There are some beautiful seasonal ideas here. This is one for Children's Advent Calendars

And there are so many swoony pictures on Pinterest, I could get lost in there! Gorgeous Wrappings

Can't wait to get started now!

It takes me long enough to wrap up without worrying about a theme.

MammaGnomes · 05/11/2017 07:52
