Christmas wrapping inspiration

I always do a "theme" for my Christmas presents every year, last year the children's presents were made to look like ballerina's and toy soldiers, and the adults were silver paper with white ribbon and white poinsetta's. This years children's presents are being wrapped to look like ginger bread houses but I need inspiration for my adults. Can you post your past wrapping creations if you have any please Flowers

I thought my wrapping was good .... until I opened this thread.

I don't even know where you'd start with toy soldiers!
I doth my sellotape dispenser to you

MrsHathaway That's beautiful, am very impressed with the snowflake, my creativity definitely doesn't stretch to crocheting, thank you for sharing

Wow I'm blown away at how fantastic your wrapping is! If I got a present wrapped like that I wouldn't want to open it as it's like a present it's self. You have such a talent thanks for sharing your beautiful creations

Ah I have found my people. I am really not artistic ( was chucked out of GCSE art) but I really enjoy wrapping. Last year I did teddy bears which was so cute. Thinking about snowmen for kids presents this year

MrsCrimbo74 · 05/10/2017 11:31

Ooh southeastlondonmum have you got some pics?

MrsCrimbo74 · 05/10/2017 11:32

I did snowmen year before last, they didn't look as good as I'd hoped unfortunately

They are embarrassing compared to yours but brown paper, ribbon and white nose

MrsHathaway · 05/10/2017 12:00

OP, you need to come and join us on Poncetastic 2017 as that's the home of all things pretty for Christmas ...

My dream if I had spare cash: Buy an A3 laser colour printer and make my own wrapping paper Grin

For small gifts I use my A4 monochrome printer to make wrapping paper. I like it but A3 colour would be much better :)

Alas, I've not done this myself but I have been tempted to try out some of the ideas like this photo from;

Ohhappyday

No where like the wrapping skills displayed but I have in the past taken photos of the recipient and made them into diy postage stamps and tied up the parcels with brown paper and string - no need for extra labels as you could see from the photo postage stamp who they were for.

tistheseason2bjolly Making your own wrapping paper sounds amazing, can you show me some you've made before?

southeastlondonmum Your rabbits sound extremely cute

I helped my DD 6yo to wrap her friend's gifts last year. Hopefully the pics will attach.

Argh I don't know why the others didn't post, will try again later.

Haudyerwheesht · 05/10/2017 14:44

I love this thread - I love wrapping too. This year my 'theme' will be navy, red and white. That's as exciting as it gets I'm afraid. I have never heard of making presents wrapped to look like something else - amazing!

tistheseason2bjolly · 05/10/2017 14:45

I find an image I want, then I use Picasa to print out 9 or 12 of the same image on one page.

This thread is all kinds of beautiful! Swooning!

ArcheryAnnie · 05/10/2017 17:23

These are all amazing. I do enjoy wrapping, too.

Blogwoman your idea of doing the Japanese fabric-wrapping with Christmas teatowels is inspired, and also much less wasteful than the usual!

Blogwoman · 05/10/2017 19:15

Some fabulous wrapping here! Archery yes I really liked not being wasteful with paper but still making them look lovely, and I had fun hunting in charity shops for Christmas fabric. I found new tea towels, some cushion covers and tablecloths even! Furoshiki is the name for Japanese fabric wrapping technique - lots of examples on Pinterest and 'how to' videos on YouTube.

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 05/10/2017 19:27

This thread is amazing! OP, your wrapping skills are jawdropping. Shock I love the idea of using fabric to wrap presents, as the yearly waste of paper distresses me. Methinks a trip to the local cheap fabric shop is in order... Grin

Playmobilpeacock · 05/10/2017 21:27

Last year all the adult gifts had mini crackers instead of labels. You had to pull the cracker to get to the name inside.

It certainly added a lot of laughter.
