@VoldemortsNipple how do you get that deal for FIFA 18 cashback on Quidco? I am a member but never use it so not sure what I'm doing!

VoldemortsNipple · 20/09/2017 22:32

@NotPennysBoat look up zavvi and then click up the link for the £20 cash back. You will pay full price now and then Quidco track your purchase and add the £20 to your account when it's paid.

woodwaj · 20/09/2017 22:39

sockeatingmonster thanks for the tip my friend is an annual pass member and is happy to use his card to get us a Lego death star! I think 10% off is the best we can do.

margarita it is for my friends boy who is 7 and I'm totally impressed because he has saved up all year for it. Now we have the annual pass discount he is only £44 off!

brittbugs I tried to get dh to book my flights to NYC but he was having none of it. Can't blame me for trying though

Thanks to anyone I missed. There's going to be a chuffed little boy soon!

ShoppingBasket · 20/09/2017 22:47

I can't link it for some reason but have purchased Lego ninjago motorcycles at £1 each, they have all the colours so hopefully good stocking fillers! an emoji pillow that changes face if you rub it, I think that was about £4. Emoji poo socks for 79p :)

ShoppingBasket · 20/09/2017 22:48

If anyone sees the big set of Ninjago movie Lego reduced please let me know, thank you.

yumyumpoppycat · 20/09/2017 22:54

DD got a toy/mini sewing machine last year and it hasn't worked out although it was very cheap (half price and on a 3 for 2 etc) and she loved trying to use it so much which means I don't really regret buying it. The problem is it comes unthreaded ALL the time, it is so frustrating. I would have bought her a small proper one if I had known that she would be so keen to use it. She can't use this one without adult help anyway because it is so rubbish/difficult to use so it's a bit pointless!

yumyumpoppycat · 20/09/2017 22:59

voldermots I had no success with quidco offers like that last year, and don't seem to have been alone in that, if the deal is good anyway then go for it but if the quidco cashback is the selling point it might not materialise.

AlwaysOldBeforeMyTime · 20/09/2017 22:59

@ShoppingBasket where did the £1 ninjago motorbikes come from please?

ShoppingBasket · 20/09/2017 23:04

sorry I left the important info out! All came from aliexpress, just type in Lego Ninjago motorcycles.

yumyumpoppycat · 20/09/2017 23:12

Such a speedy thread!

My fire engine is ready for me to collect.

Haudyerwheesht · 20/09/2017 23:46

I've spent a very big whack of the budget for dd (7) she is just so easy to buy for !!

I haven't bought ds much at all yet - he turns 11 at Christmas and it's all tech things mainly or football neither of which I have any clue about!!! My main concern is still working out how to get him a decent smart phone (ideally iPhone) at a reasonable cost (on contract) . He saves his money all year to buy things he wants and is sensible and careful with his money and never really asks for anything so I'd like to get him what he does ask for. Plus he gives to charity out of his own money even if it leaves him short which makes me well up a bit!!!

So...I'm rambling - any tech / football related smaller gifts anyone can recommend ? (Sat under £10). He does alot of trainkng so has the basic football kit and has a PS4 in terms on consoles.

Any inspiration??

I have used the JL sewing machine - my bf has one - there is nothing wrong with it as a start machine.

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/09/2017 06:34

Aldi have the sewing machines and craft stuff in now I saw it at the weekend. Not sure if the machine is too complicated for children. I think it's £150.
I got a singer from Lidl so worth looking there and dd aged 7/8 is fine with it

singadream · 21/09/2017 07:03

Good for any game mad geeks from age 8 onwards!
Pleased as my DS spotted it in the Smyths catalogue.

FoofFighter · 21/09/2017 07:52

@ShoppingBasket just be aware they will be fakes and check them over very carefully

As goes anything toy wise from aliexpress, it won't meet this countries safety standards most likely

Tattybogle89 · 21/09/2017 08:26

My little pony rarity style and spin playdoh set amazon £5.50

Haudyerwheesht as he's a bit older, maybe tickets for a tour of his teams football ground if local (and cheap enough. I've no idea what they cost, just that you can)
