I saw his on my way to work last night. In central London but a small local high st. I was shocked! Looked lovely though. I think I read Oxford St turns on it’s lights tonight. Must be close now :)

I've got a massive Ocado shop coming on Friday, I think it is the last of the treats and baking cupboard staples. My freezer is rammed, I have been making dinners for the freezer for over the christmas period, three christmas puddings, four portions of red cabbage, gravy, sausagemeat and puff pastry. I need to go and do a big audit and see what I can eat to make space.

I have ordered a massive basket of mixed nuts, never done that before, but we have a few family gatherings and I think it will be nice and festive to sit and crack nuts.

CbeebiesAddict · 07/11/2017 11:14

Love reading about everyone's preparations :) I have fallen a bit behind although have done lots of wrapping and bought Christmas cards so that is something at least :)

I am in awe of your cooking fridge, it all sounds amazing!

FridgeCut · 07/11/2017 11:33

I've got apple crumble in the oven, I don't like Christmas pudding (or cake or mince pies...) so this will be the alternative pudding on Christmas day. I love it, it is always better homemade and I know it won't get made on the big day. It is in a big square foil tray so can get stuck in when the turkey comes out.

HairsprayBabe · 07/11/2017 11:53

Fridge I think I might want your life a bit Xmas Grin

CbeebiesAddict · 07/11/2017 12:05

Just rang a patient and in the background I could hear Mud's 'Lonely this Christmas' Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 07/11/2017 12:11

Funny, CBeebies! Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 07/11/2017 12:14

I'm mad and not making anything ahead of time. Christmas Eve is my cooking / baking day. I finish work on 22nd, we have two food collections and (hopefully) a delivery on 23rd, plus it's DH's birthday so we are off out in the afternoon to Dunham Massey for their Christmas light walk. So...Christmas Eve will be BUSY for me! 😂

FridgeCut · 07/11/2017 12:27

Christmas eve we have Christmas Day round one with my family, so I can't do anything at all that day. Christmas day we are having DH's family for a long brunch so my prep time is really minimal.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/11/2017 12:39

Ah, there you go!

Just have to fit stuff in where you can, don't you?

FridgeCut · 07/11/2017 12:45

Absolutely, if I had Christmas Eve at home I'd probably have a lovely busy day of getting things done. This is very much needs must. With a 2 and a 4-year-old and working 28 hours a week from home with no childcare I just have to steal moments.

Mrsmadevans · 07/11/2017 13:37

It all sounds so lovely the cooking and preparing
I am in serious Christmas yearning mode now lol
have had the brilliant luck to go into a local shop which had local metal plaques and keyrings etc in and I have been to the online shop and bought a lot of my men pressies from there
www.loveyourlocation.co.uk/
Just put in where you want the gift to be from and everywhere seems to be on it !
Also put surveyfiver in discount for a Fiver off and free p &p but only if you spend over £50 including five pounds off
I have an elderly lady I bought a placemat and coaster for her son lives in York and they love York minster so I got her that, it is lovely and she will be able to use it which is the main thing
Hope all ok it is cold here today I am freezing better get the heating on lol!
Take care !

I'm with you on the small children and working front, Fridge, though I get to escape the house as DH has the kids when they aren't at preschool / school (mine are 3 and 4).

I went back through my cook books the other night to tag the things I'm making. I also have a few internet pages bookmarked (cookies and Christmas cake cheesecake!). I'm considering also making stuffing, but haven't decided yet.

Most of what I'm making is sweet...I might be the size of a house come new year!

HandbagCrazy · 07/11/2017 20:45

I feel bad, I’m delegating a lot of Christmas food prep! As we’re away, DH is going to do a Christmas dinner when we get back (we have no faith in getting the ‘correct’ festive food there). So DH is experimenting with homemade sausage meat stuffing. DM is going through a baking phase and has promised us a homemade cake for dessert. SIL is making jam and chutneys and is putting together a hamper for us (to include cheese, crackers and biscuits) and FIL has made pickled onions. I am not needed but will be well fed!

On my way home I noticed that the hairdressers I pass on the way home has skipped straight from their Halloween window display to a Christmas tree which is the first one I’ve seen this year, and I’ve spotted a few Christmas adverts on tv today. It’s getting so close now 🎄🎄🎄

Though new DPuppy helps, currently biting my toes in fluffy socks!!

NoWordForFluffy · 08/11/2017 07:06

Awwww. What kind of puppy, Minster?

Minster2012 · 08/11/2017 07:21

A rare kind of pointer, we’ve had her 1.5 weeks & she’s an absolute terror delight!!!

NoWordForFluffy · 08/11/2017 07:23

I love dogs, but our hands are full with two small kids!

Minster2012 · 08/11/2017 07:45

I love kids but have my hands full with 2 dogs now!! No, that’s a joke, would love kids & that’s why puppy is baby substitute for now! And she won’t stay small for long 🙈

HairsprayBabe · 08/11/2017 08:11

I think I have got my entire christmas wardrobe sorted, need to order xmas day dress and one other dress but then I think I have enough festive clothes to take me from Christmas Eve to New Years Day.

Minster2012 · 08/11/2017 10:29

Festive clothes like ones referencing Xmas or not? I’m always intrigued if ppl go for it all out or not? I have a few nice Xmas jumpers & a stag t shirt I like to wear in Dec but no more than that 🎄

HairsprayBabe · 08/11/2017 11:01
