Love the dress Mrs, gorgeous colours. I'd wear it, I'm 42 ☺

Woohoo! It's shooting past now. And now Hallowe'en's out of the way everything will start to ramp up.

We only had one lot of trick or treaters last night. I don't know if it's because the kids are on half term here this week, so they've gone away or were at parties. Last year, we had so many I ran out of sweets Halloween Blush!

I tried to check out your dress, MrsM, but it just came up as a picture of a woollen mill. I'm pretty certain you're not wearing that! Yours is pretty, too, Fridge. I need to start thinking about my dress for Christmas day.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/11/2017 12:56

We need to get Bonfire Night done too, then it's full steam ahead! (That's my birthday, so I feel we need to get that out of the way first!)

FridgeCut · 01/11/2017 14:31

I am so bad, I just spent £30 on embossing stuff and a heat gun. Wilf and I are making his cards for school and all the gift tags. I already have a lovely selection of stamps (and inks and stickles glitter glue...) so these will go nicely. I'm telling myself I'll get years of use. I'd better, this and the stamps cost me £60.

BiddyPop · 01/11/2017 15:27

I went out a bit early to get lunch today (didn't bring any with me and was in early due to a train strike), and got back late as I went into the local bookshop....but I did find 2 books for DD's stocking, 1 each for DH and I over Christmas, a 2018 diary for the kitchen counter (vital family organizer!!) and got the book token needed for 1 DUncle. So it was a successful if long browse Xmas Grin

Fridge I have spent loads on stamps and inks in the past - and loved making cards a few Christmases when I had time but it's very handy to be able to get creative sometimes when I don't have something in my stash box to whip up something in a hurry. Stamps, embossing dies, heat gun - they are all worth the long term investment!!

I haven't really figured out my outfit yet. I have plenty in the wardrobe that I could wear (and I am working on getting back into loads as well - pesky cruddy past 2 years catching up on me...). We are staying in our own house, we will go to mass at some stage (we might go to midnight mass this year though), and DD and I are muttering about a Christmas Day swim so need something a bit practical (DH will hold towels and flasks of hot choc on the shore - he thinks we're daft to even consider it!). But I do like to dress up a little - not "work smart" but nicely classical smart casual (but not so classical that I prematurely age myself!)!.

I'd better get back to work - it's stupidly busy as usual. Another leader has sorted the carpool for this weekend's hostelling trip, DH mucked up his travel arrangements so is suggesting going alone to his DF's anniversary mass on Friday (as I would otherwise drive the 2.5 hours down on Friday afternoon and we would all drive back up at 7am on Saturday as DD has training at 9.30 at home - the mass was changed after the training had been booked and paid for!). And I have managed to go through Heathrow rather than direct, so my flights are slightly more friendly on Sunday (I can leave the hostel at about 11.30 rather than 9.30am!). And the hotel is the alternative usual one (not our regular usual one) - so has a nespresso machine for morning coffee and has a bath so I am bringing my naice bath oil for Sunday night!!!! (And 1 pair of this year's Christmas PJs, as I bought 2 pairs - I am so regretting not having done that last year as they are nice lounging ones and I really need to replace lots this year).

And I am also bringing the other half of my Christmas cards to write!!

HairsprayBabe · 02/11/2017 09:35

Free weekend for us this weekend, so I will be seriously cracking on with project hamper 2017!

BiddyPop · 02/11/2017 09:58

DH has decided (as I was still awake at 4am when he was heading tot he airport) that I wouldn't be safe to drive "down home" tomorrow, so as he is now flying in there from abroad, he will get the train back up on Saturday instead. DD is delighted (as she will be sailing all day tomorrow instead of only until lunch - I think I grew a fish not a child!).

My plan for tomorrow now is to go back to bed for a couple of hours, but also crack on with clearing the spare bedroom, do some family paperwork, and finish off 4 UFO sewing projects that will become presents with about 1-2 hours work.

Today, I have a bunch of horrible meetings to get through first....

FridgeCut · 02/11/2017 11:05

I've booked my pre-Christmas oven clean, 24th November. Hopefully, that will then still be not too filthy by Christmas.

Stuck a four pack of christmas loo paper in the Ocado order, I am considering going to B&M tomorrow to look for the reeses calendar again and then home bargains for sprout and christmas pudding bags. I need to get to Tiger at some point and start DH's stocking.

OhOurBilly · 02/11/2017 11:22

My booths Christmas book has arrived!! 🎅🎄🎁🎉

NoWordForFluffy · 02/11/2017 13:35

How did you order it, Billy? I've not found the website link?! 😢😢😢

NoWordForFluffy · 02/11/2017 13:38

Ooh. In store from Friday. I'm off Friday afternoon so will fetch mine then!

HandbagCrazy · 02/11/2017 14:20

I’ve heard a lot about Booths but don’t think there’s one anywhere near me I also don’t really need to order food as we’re away but I feel like I’m missing out

I have been approached in work about a project to run which is not something I’ve done before so I feel that the next few months are going to be a lot busier than expected! However, I have booked a day off at the start of December for putting the tree up and have a fully stocked ‘wrapping cupboard’ with cards, tags, wrapping paper, sellotape and random crafty bits and I’m making headway with presents so it should be fine.

Feeing more and more festive as the weather is getting colder too Xmas Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 02/11/2017 17:10

I can post you a book so you can indulge in Christmas food porn, Handbag!

MuddlingThroughLife · 02/11/2017 17:23

fridge I found it impossible to get a reece's calendar from B&M and finally got one in Debenhams. They had loads of them in there!

ConstantlyCooking · 02/11/2017 19:01

I have spent some of my vouchers on Christmas things in Matalan and am debating whether to get a solid advent calendar and if so whether to choose Matalan or the cancer research shop.hmm decisions...
I was cold and miserable yesterday so snuggled up with tea, toast and a Christmas book :)

Mrsmadevans · 02/11/2017 20:03

Fridge we just buy a new oven every couple of years lol it's welded on am great at hoovering though
Well done Woolly .....four in a row tomoz?
Constant the wooden advent calendars are lovely go for it!
Handbag I can't stop buying naice wrapping paper , bought the cat one from Primark omg it is divine, also a random roll of holly paper from Aldi today that I just couldn't resist , No Booths around here either my dear but I think you can't beat M&S food it's delicious
Hope all well take care everyone not long now nearly in the 40's !!

NoWordForFluffy · 02/11/2017 20:49

Booths is vair naice! It's above Waitrose in the posh stakes! 😂

I'm getting some Christmas food from M&S and some from Booths this year. The book is a hardback delight. It's just a thing of beauty!

OhOurBilly · 02/11/2017 21:39

I did a request form online and in the 'message' box just out that I would like to be on the list for the Christmas book. It is lovely, there's a booths up the road from me about fifteen mins about way but I've never actually been in. I just know my Grandma will love it so thought I'd order one to show her. The baby has been at it and managed to rip a page out so it's already sullied!

NoWordForFluffy · 02/11/2017 21:54

Ah, cunning ploy!

We didn't let the kids near ours last year! 😂
