It's freezing today and made me think of Christmas :)

My DD1 (6) has asked for a Nintendo switch already... they are horrifically expensive!!

My DD2 (4) never asks for anything!

Do you know yet what your kids are getting?

MrsPworkingmummy · 07/09/2017 12:52

Our daughter is 5, nearly 6, and this is the list of things I've been putting together based on what she has said she would like. I've literally just copied this from the notes file in my phone:

  • Mr Men book collection
  • Balance scooter
  • Beauty and the Beast dvd 2017 version- (Dad)
  • Belle princess dress - (Dad)
  • Gangsta Granny or The Jungle Book tickets (Dad/Gran)
  • Hatchimal
  • Gumballs
  • Baby born bath and shower for real water (Nana to get)
  • Shopkins shoppie lemon and shopkins set (Auntie?)
  • Jelly mould
  • Ice lolly maker mould
  • Big Magnets
  • Bunchems
  • Operation
  • Buggaloop board game (Grandad to buy)
  • Labyrinth board game
  • Potters wheel
  • The Nutcracker ballet tickets (Grandma to buy?)
  • Greedy granny game
  • War heads
  • Smiggle lockable diary with cake on front

She'll not necessarily get everything on this list either.

Happy Christmas shopping Grin

My 10 year old got a nintendo switch for her birthday, it's fab! I'm not a computer games person at all but I love Mario Kart!

BiddyPop · 07/09/2017 13:06

For DD, about to turn 12:

Christmas includes a mug with the sailing flags on it, her name in battery operated fairy lights and lego, in her stocking (under my desk at work). And the usual fruit, sweets and a book or 2 (all yet to be sourced).

DH has decided what her main present will be (I know I agreed to it, I just can't remember - he usually sorts that anyway).

There will be something under the tree from us - probably new clothes or something relatively useful. Our presents to each other are very often of the more useful type.

Her birthday present (26th Dec!) is a proper rucksack, as she moves into "big Scouts" in January and needs it for that.

I am starting to get ideas together., Every year I think some LUSH stuff would be lovely and every year go in and think - this is too expensive, and leave empty handed.

Not this year I am determined to accustom myself to the prices and get something smelly of xmas for them, they have never had bath fizz balls either so they will love bath bombs.

For older DD a ninendo DS and some games.

Younger - no idea.

But for the first time ever have some decent stocking ideas. one of which for older DD will be Exploding Kittens expansion pack mum also excited about this one Blush

missyB1 · 07/09/2017 16:23

Ds will be 9 at Christmas, the only things he's asked for are a skateboard and a light up globe.

BiddyPop · 07/09/2017 16:49

DH rang me - he was after making the necessary purchase: Its a waterproof Bluetooth speaker so DD can listen to her music out on the boat or in the great outdoors generally (sailing and camping/scouty-stuff mad!).

Shockers · 07/09/2017 17:05

DS1- money and clothes
DD- clothes and an experience
DS2- ski boots and skis

They range from 17-30 though, so it gets easier (and more expensive!).

Knope2020 · 07/09/2017 17:09

Op...ds2 is getting a grey switch from very.com
New customer 20% discount and pay over 3 months interest free 👍
Ive pre ordered loads of stuff from Amazon - blu rays and ps4 games
Also got a few bits wrapped up that i got on Amazon prime day
😁👍

PinkSquash · 07/09/2017 17:10

Not sure on DS1, although I suspect it will be Pokemon related.

DS2 has asked for a Nintendo DS, so I shall see what offers are out there.

Fancythat69 · 07/09/2017 17:13

DD age 6 - our generation and JoJo siwa everything

DD age 8 - Harry Potter and unicorns

Saladd0dger · 07/09/2017 17:16

DD12 wants a new iPhone.
DS6 wants a flicker scooter thingy
DD1 anything teletubbies.

I have 1s birthday the week before Xmas and 1 the week after Xmas. Expensive time!

TheScottishPlay · 07/09/2017 17:25

DS is 13. He hasn't asked for anything yet but Warhammer books and graphic novels will figure together with rugby and camping things recommended by fellow scouts.

Notreallyarsed · 07/09/2017 17:29

DD and DS2 want lots of superhero costumes/action figures. DS1 wanted an iPhone 7 but then I saw the price of one and said he'd have to rethink. Possibly an iPad.

Chrisinthemorning · 07/09/2017 18:40

DS is 5 and so far wants playmobil roman warrior ship - v into history (really because he has and loves the playmobil pyramid - think he wants a set!)
A cuddly light up R2-D2 (friend for BB8 who he has already).
Wondering about kids kindle fire to keep him off my iPad!
I need to buy a present cost £15-20 for the real Santa to give him- going to Lapland- any ideas?

Stompythedinosaur · 07/09/2017 18:46

I've bought quite a few things already for dds age 6 and 4.

Playmobil Egypt stuff
Spy kit
Design a friend doll
Robot pet turtle
Coding mouse
Personalised t-shirts
Magic set
Blow pens and aquabeads
Mythology book
Joke book

I'm considering starting to wrap.

I8toys · 07/09/2017 19:00

Mine are getting an x box x as a joint present. Probably some games and clothes, hopefully useful things.

TroubleInSnowland · 07/09/2017 19:04

Scottish-play, do you mean the warhammer story books or codices. Ds keeps asking for the novels but I'm not sure if they're suitable and I don't want to read them. He's 13 next month!

TheScottishPlay · 07/09/2017 19:29

It's the story books, Trouble. In all honesty I haven't read any of them either! One of my colleagues in work is an avid fan and he assures me they aren't overly gory or graphic but the quality of writing varies.

RJnomore1 · 07/09/2017 19:31

New iPhones, they will be 13 and 18. The 13 year old wants a hatchimal too 😬

Cagliostro · 07/09/2017 19:35

We've bought some Lego and I'm pretty sure their main present will be a big knex set. I also bought a pikachu plushie today as DD has mentioned it a few times. The only other thing they've been talking about is hexbugs
