It's freezing today and made me think of Christmas :)

My DD1 (6) has asked for a Nintendo switch already... they are horrifically expensive!!

My DD2 (4) never asks for anything!

Do you know yet what your kids are getting?

+genuine*

ShowOfHands · 08/09/2017 07:28

10yo DD just wants books. List atm is about 15 books long including the new Philip Pullman, Cassandra Clare and Anthony Horowitz and the yet to be released illustrated Prisoner of Azkaban and Fantastic Beasts for her Potter collection. I'll trawl the charity shops for more.

6yo ds wants Lego.

Both like board games too so will probably look for something suitable.

tinypop4 · 08/09/2017 07:32

My dc are getting new scooters as their main gifts.
Then dd who will be 5 will get:
A gymnastics leotard
A couple of Barbie things
An art and craft box

Ds is only 2 and doesn't really like toys that much apart from little cars.
So um, little cars I guess....

RatOnnaStick · 08/09/2017 07:37

No idea. Ds2 will be getting a scooter for his 5th birthday in January. I think Christmas is going to be more smaller things, board games, more cars, fun stuff.

Neither is asking for anything v specific as yet.

MiniMileyMoo · 08/09/2017 08:16

Eek!

DS (nearly 5) has both a birthday and Xmas coming up, between the two:
New bed (necessary, but he will be excited so we are saving it to build on his birthday with new bedding and curtains)
Ridgeback MX14 bike (secondhand, probably save for Xmas)
Crocodile dentist game / similar
Magic set (his main request!)
New Pjs (probably star wars / character as I hate character proper clothes!)
Earmuffs (his request!)

DS (2.5) but developmentally younger, for christmas:
Fisher Price Skyway Car Ramp
Dolly / baby buggy
Toy food
Little Live Pet of some description
Talking plush teletubby
Toy bath rocket fountain toy
Thomas sound book

Natsku · 08/09/2017 08:27

DD is 6 and has asked for some Barbie things (skateboarding Barbie and another Barbie with a bunch of things with it)
A Littlest Pet Shop set with a bunch of the pets
Horses for her Barbies
A soft toy (she's been hinting at the massive teddy bears we saw in the shop the other day, almost as big as her!)
And something else I can't remember.

Have bought most of them already as there's been sales lately and OH bought a few other things that he thinks she'll like. Her birthday is about a month after Christmas so we'll split up the presents some for Christmas and some for her birthday.

peterpancollar · 08/09/2017 11:12

DD(10) turns 11 after Xmas. For Xmas, I've got her the Lego Friends Heartlake Grand Hotel which I bought from Argos for £68 last month. Considering the Switch for her January birthday when she turns 11.

tigercub50 · 08/09/2017 11:16

DD is 9 quite close to Christmas so it ends up being an expensive month. I have put away a few bits throughout the year including a party dress bought in the Monsoon sale. Haven't thought about big pressies yet. She had a new bike fairly recently but has been hankering for a skateboard

Why can't your 5 year old have a crybaby doll?

Pressed send to soon... if I was 5 and asked santa for a crybaby doll and he brought me a mountain of books and a microscope I think I'd be incredibly disappointed. Not judging btw just curious

@christmasunicorn can I ask where you got your Japanese Pokemon sweets? DS1 would love those!

Goldenhandshake · 08/09/2017 15:27

We have splurged on a suprise trip to Disneyland Paris a few days after Christmas, so their 'gift list' will be a hell of a lot smaller than usual.

Older DC will be getting lego friends rollercoaster, pj's, novelty socks and some emoji stuff plus a few smiggle stocking fillers.

Younger DC some small playmobil sets, belle dress up shoes, pj's and some play food.

Disney autograph books as their 'reveal present' for the DLP trip.

My family spoil them rotten so they will have plenty of other stuff to open.

SunSeptember · 08/09/2017 16:12

golden am jealous, what a wonderful surprise for them, havce you been before

CryHavoc · 08/09/2017 16:23

I think 9 year old will be getting a laptop, and maybe a Bluetooth speaker for her room. But that could all change, I'm very last minute about Christmas presents.

Clembarrass · 08/09/2017 16:39

My older one will be getting Lego as a main present, and I am thinking about/on the look out for a nice fluffy fleecy throw blanket for her bed.

Younger one wants a toy kitten or puppy that breathes while it sleeps - we saw some in a gift shop on holiday and she has talked about them with awe ever since. Not sure how much she will actually play with one though, if all they do is sleep!

I have been making a shortlist of boardgames too, undecided if I will get them one each, or a family game for everyone to share.

christmasunicorn · 08/09/2017 16:41

Why high end make up for your 13 year old daughter? Wouldn't it make sense to star her on the pretty cheap stuff so that she can then afford herself. Once you know the high end stuff, it's bloody difficult to swop to the cheaper stuff. I speak from experience!

Because I wear high end make up (mac, urban decay, hourglass, Charlotte tilbury, nars etc) and she is always nicking my stuff! She will be almost 14 (January baby) and got a lot of MUR last year so she has plenty of make up anyway

@OhHolyFuck blippo.com (maybe .co.uk) they sell Japanese kawaii stuff including lots of Pokemon stocking fillers.

IggyAce · 08/09/2017 16:44

DD 11 is after a new iPad, and will probably ask for bath bombs from Lush.

DS 6 Lego.

2014newme · 08/09/2017 16:45

My 10 year olds have never heard of a switch. Neither had I till this thread!
