Oh god I love this thread. Here's mine, coloured lights are a must in my house.

Not as good as my last years one.kids too involved in light placement and had to try and puppy proof the bottom.

Mine seems so small compared to most on here

Quick advice needed. Picking up our real tree at the weekend but we i want want to change the colour scheme currently it is all red and gold but I want to change to silvers, whites and ice blue etc... question is we have multi colour lights which we only brought last year so do not want to replace just yet, will multi colour lights work with this colour scheme? I just can't picture it in my head but I'm thinking possibly not? X

No tree yet, but I made this wreath.

We were meant to be moving and I was getting a real one again but it fell through so we dragged the fake one out again!!! Looks pretty when it's done though. Real one next year, I just love the smell. They all look lovely.

I am of the "more is more" school of decorating so could never stick to a theme

Getting our tree tomorrow and hopefully lights too, so will have some photos in a few days. We're having a bit of a make shift Christmas as a lot of decorations got lost in the house move earlier this year. We have a few left, and have been given a box of unwanted decorations from a relative who passed away. No idea how it's going to end up, but I'm excited!

I rearranged the living room for the tree and I much prefer it how it is now, except for the bare area by the window. I wish we could keep the tree there all year round!

I think I might make a few decorations over the next couple of weeks. Maybe a couple of tiny felt houses just big enough to fit a small light inside, or some white clay snowflakes. Or a needle-felted toadstool.

That was my plan as well Broomstick but in amongst the DIY and the endless Christmas visitors, I don't think I can be arsed now

Around half of my standard decorations are biscuits which have to be made before the tree goes up, so I already have a bakingvsessiin planned for the 17th. I will probably make the dough in advance.
