ladymoods where did you get your coloured lights from?

Hopefully this posts it's mainly red and gold and decorations ds has made

winterisnigh I have 3 sets in there, two from poundstretcher and one from tesco. I prefer the ones with push in bulbs rather than leds as they seem to have a nice soft glow and leds seem much harsher.

thanks danny but where to get push in bulbs! we have all been thwarted by bloody strip light leds!

Made my own wreath n'all! Amazing what you can do with a coat hanger, newspaper and a bin liner

Golden, your coloured lights are lovely. Next year, once we have finally ditched the garish carpet of doom (please, please let it be gone by next Christmas) we will be able to have pretty coloured stuff.

winter broomstick I got them from local garden centre they've got proper bulbs and little lampshades!

Yours is lovely paddington! DP reckons I deliberately used the spikiest plants I could find in the garden to stop people knocking the door, and asked if there were any nettles in the undergrowth

What. A seriously great thread. Have made myself late for work looking at it but it has made me feel warm inside

Hoping to get ours on Saturday. Older DCs like to come to join in the traditional bickering over which one to buy.

We moved house in October so our first tree in new house. I have already bought a furry tree skirt and a Hornby train and track to go under the tree. Kids growing up fast so having to buy toys for myself

Oh no it just occurred to me that faux reindeer fur tree shirt and Hornby train may be incompatible. Never mind DD has already worn fur tree skirt as Cruella Deville cloak for fancy dress

I was a little worried the dogs would destroy the tree this year so DH made me one. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Wall mounted and out of reach .

So jealous of everyone's real trees!! They look so beautiful. I think I need a bigger house before I finally get a real one. They look so wide!

I could look at these Christmas trees all day. Putting up my decorations is the only thing I get OCD over. I had a conversation in work last week about taking the decorations off about a week before Christmas to re-fluff the tree and tidy the decorations. Apparently I'm the only person who does this.

It took me ages to find that crazy dog!!

Not a traditional tree, but here's ours....pine cones, robins & those little knitted bobble hats (off tops of innocent drink bottles!) 😄 & a snowy owl on the top for good measure!....

Put up this afternoon & am quietly chuffed with myself as I lost my beloved mum suddenly 2nd Dec last year & she loved Christmas, so unwrapping those little robins today brought tears but I did it for you Mum 😊
