My 6 year old wants a hatchimal. They are only be released so theres no reviews but the ads are on tv 10 times an hour. Are they going to be a big thing this year? I cam discern much from the little there us online. Are they just a big tomigotchi (sp?).

Interested to hear is anyone else considering them. It would be the big pressie this year as they are getting a trampoline berween thwm

hello
Anyone of you clever (well organised) lot have any ideas where to get a Hatchimal from at this late stage?
thank you!

Cheesynightmare · 07/11/2016 17:46

They're in the Debenhams Christmas catalogue so they might have some in stock?

JuneJuly · 09/11/2016 09:06

twomonkeys2, it seems it's becoming more difficult as stock is being depleted worldwide, not just here. There is talk that the manufacturers, spinmaster, are ramping up production so more stock may become available before christmas but how true/how much that is...who knows?

You need to check out the 'stock informer' website though where there is a set up hatchimal stock checker with alerts and alarms for when retailers have stock available. Read through the discussions on there for tips & look at the history of stock for the different stores as it may give some idea of when more stock could crop up.

Other than that - Good Luck! Smile

JuneJuly · 09/11/2016 09:08

Oh, and there's always ebay...if you are made of money!

Nowombattheinn · 09/11/2016 09:17

Hatchimals are in stock at my local 'The Entertainer' so that might be worth a visit if you have one near you?

twomonkeys2 · 09/11/2016 11:58

Thanks Cheesy, June and Now. No luck so far... and sadly not made of money.

Nevermind... first world problems!!! Grin will keep trying!

Juliecloud · 09/11/2016 20:34

Nowombattheinn

Which Entertainer? PM me if you dont want to say on the thread. DD is desperate for one.

FrozenAteMyDaughter · 10/11/2016 13:53

Aargh. Had one on order from Smyths and stock has been delayed from 7 November to 24 November so will miss DD's birthday. Anyone have any idea where we can get one now?

twomonkeys2 · 10/11/2016 14:17

I've tried everywhere Frozen, with no luck... sorry... I think it's just a case of waiting until late Nov now. Hmm

FrozenAteMyDaughter · 10/11/2016 14:45

Thanks twomonkeys2. I think you are right sadly, short of staking out Tesco on a daily basis which I don't think my boss would be too happy about. DD is going to be disappointed but at least she should only have to wait a week or two...

LBOCS2 · 10/11/2016 15:03

The stock informer website is very good, that's how I got ours. You just need to keep checking it (or leave it open on a PC so the noise alerts you when they come into stock).

FrozenAteMyDaughter · 10/11/2016 17:07

Thanks LBOCS2 - I will try that tonight. Do I just google stock informer or does it have another name?

Thanks

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 10/11/2016 17:07

www.stockinformer.co.uk/checker-hatchimals

Just keep checking on there. That's where I got both of ours

FrozenAteMyDaughter · 10/11/2016 17:11

Oh my eyes! Have you looked at the prices people are asking on Ebay? There is one on a buy it now for £500. Crazy, although I assume no one will buy it at that price.

strawberrypenguin · 10/11/2016 17:11

stock informer

I've linked the site for you frozen you might have to be fairly dedicated to checking it but it's how I got ours. Check the table right at the bottom for ideas of times when stock generally becomes available. I found it was early morning around 6-9 or evening after 8 as a rough pattern

FrozenAteMyDaughter · 10/11/2016 17:11

Brilliant - thanks Tomorrow

FrozenAteMyDaughter · 10/11/2016 17:12

Thanks strawberry - that is very helpful. That's my evening sorted.

My Dd wants one for her birthday after Christmas but I'm really conflicted about spending almost £70 on a toy egg. Any reviews yet on whether it's worth it?

dontevenblink · 11/11/2016 09:26

Is there really a worldwide shortage? There are a lot on the shelves here in NZ (not a stealth boast just curious honestly!) and online so I wonder if it varies country to country. There is not as much of a build-up to Christmas here though as they are focusing on summer stuff so I wonder if having less hype helps? Are there any sites you can use in UK to get things delivered from abroad? Our NZ post does one where we can send stuff that wouldn't normally ship internationally via a UK or US address but I don't know if you have that in the UK. This website has them cheaply (about $79) if you do www.thewarehouse.co.nz

I did have a look and it would cost me about $20 to send one to UK I think, if someone was desperate, presuming I can send stuff with batteries. I don't know how complicated that would be to sort out though!

Needfinsnow · 12/11/2016 23:32

I had a tip off to a local store and managed to buy a green one. Dd wants a pink one, does anyone want to buy this?

BrianMolkoismyPlacebo · 12/11/2016 23:46

high I've read that they're shit. The yourube vids make them look shit too and certainly not worth £70!

A couple years a go ds asked for a virgin pendolino train from santa. We
Couldn't get one until Jan so mil put together a lovely letter from Santa about how the elves had been suffering from a cold and were behind on their work, but we had him in the list for January. He loved the extra wait

FrozenAteMyDaughter · 13/11/2016 20:00

Luckily, DD has accepted it won't arrive for her birthday and is happy to wait, so no more mad Tesco stalking for me. I am confused on the price though. Lots of people mention £70. They are all around £60 round these parts (or would be if they existed).

Chattymummyhere · 18/11/2016 12:04

Ocado have them online
