My 6 year old wants a hatchimal. They are only be released so theres no reviews but the ads are on tv 10 times an hour. Are they going to be a big thing this year? I cam discern much from the little there us online. Are they just a big tomigotchi (sp?).

Interested to hear is anyone else considering them. It would be the big pressie this year as they are getting a trampoline berween thwm

don't think so.

Howmanysleepstilchristmas · 19/10/2016 17:10

Just got one on amazon

iamapixiebutnotaniceone · 19/10/2016 18:32

We got ours today! I'm so excited because both of my older girls are desperate to have one but they have no idea that they are actually getting one each! It's going to kill me waiting for Christmas!

Sarahxdavid · 19/10/2016 18:55

I just ooked on the website, after hatching you can "teach it to walk" and play games with it.

MumGoneCrazy · 19/10/2016 19:33

Picked one up in tesco 2 days ago £56.
My DD made me watch a 30 minute long YouTube video of someone hatching one Hmm

Can anyone please tell me roughly how big it is when it's in its brand new packaging? I'm wondering if it'll take up a whole suitcase if we get one for DD. Thanks!

twobambinos · 19/10/2016 21:40

They are small def wouldn't take up a whole suitcase.
I bought one each for my dds as their surprise but in the mean time the older dd has changed her mind on what she wants and has cancelled something on her list in exchange for a hatchimal. So her surprise will now be the thing she cancelled because I had already bought itGrinit costs to be organised.

NightCzar · 20/10/2016 07:20

Thanks twobambinos

icclemunchy · 20/10/2016 16:12

I had to ring toys r us everyday for 10 days to get then particular one DD wants. I swear if she changes her mind they're may be murder!!

TCsMummy · 20/10/2016 17:52

Just watched the start of the ToysRUs hatching video to see what all the fuss was about. Can't believe that a grown woman is required to say things like "Oh WOW, look at the awesome crystal nest!" while twirling around a grim bit of blue spiky plastic. Thank god my child records cartoons off Disney XD and fast forwards through the adverts.....

Craigie · 20/10/2016 18:01

All these things are a total waste of money in our house. Played with for max 3 days in a year.

mummyB1 · 20/10/2016 18:10

My 6yr DD wants one also I think the novelty of it will wear off once it's "hatched" and for £60 think if she really wants it I'll wait till it's reduced in time for her birthday

eamiles · 20/10/2016 19:06

Bought two for DD's aged 5 and 8, pretty glad they are asking for this and not phones. It will be their main xmas present, think it will be lovely on xmas day to focus on the hatching. Also sick of buying plastic toys they never play with, once hatched they wont take up too much soace!

eamiles · 20/10/2016 19:07

Space!

Vanessa99 · 20/10/2016 19:30

Hi, just wondering how you pre ordered one? I've been on the website but it just says out of stock and won't let me go any further. Thanks

TruJay · 20/10/2016 20:22

My DS wants one but its £60!!! I don't know if it's just the hatching he wants to see then it'll be cast aside. I've seen loads in stores recently even though they're meant to be selling out super fast! I don't know what to do...

its a toy in an egg I wouldn't waste my money as if it came out the wrong colour my daughter would not play with it anymore.

strawberrypenguin · 21/10/2016 08:30

I can't find one in store round here at all tru I've got a stock tracker open in my phone but keep missing the 10 minute slot before they sell out again online!

Notmuchtosay1 · 21/10/2016 08:31

I am amazed at how many of you prepare for Christmas so early. I've bought stuff they've asked for in October. Then to be told in December that they've changed their minds and want something else instead 😡 So I wait till much nearer now. Or even worse they've bought something with their own money in early Dec that I've already bought them for Christmas (only a smaller present, not the main present, they don't get much pocket money)

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 21/10/2016 12:47

I've bought this as a extra but other than that my son will get playmobil again but he is playmobil

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 21/10/2016 12:48

Playmobil mad that is lol

Letustryagain · 21/10/2016 14:16

DD has no idea what she wants for Xmas but she loves 'Little Live Pets' and the like so we've decided to get one of these for her. But I can't find one anywhere (apart from Amazon and I'm not paying £100 for it on there!).

Can anyone recommend anywhere else to look? I called Toysrus and they said that they have a company wide shortage and aren't expecting to have any in before end of October at the earliest. Is it safe to assume that somewhere will stock up and have plenty in by the time it gets near to Xmas???
